00:00So we've heard Elon Musk saying he's pulling back significantly from his work in the U.S. government.
00:06What's your reaction to that?
00:07Well, I don't know if that was necessarily the plan to begin with.
00:10I think in a perfect world, Elon probably would like to have stayed longer.
00:13But it seems to me that it's just unsustainable for him from a business point of view.
00:18As you look at where the Tesla brand is today, I would tell you that in the United States,
00:24there seem to be concerted efforts to have protests, actually, at these Tesla parking lots, at Tesla sales centers.
00:33You even had the former vice presidential candidate, Tim Waltz, being excited, saying publicly,
00:40it's great that Tesla stock is going down.
00:42With that said, let's also remember very quickly that you're looking at somebody who had the most prolific financial
00:50and I would also say social impact of any activist in an election, at least in modern history.
00:57It's not only the $300 million plus, Tom, that he spent on this election of his own personal money,
01:03but let's be honest, it's buying of formerly Twitter, now X, and making sure that not only the algorithms,
01:11but that the news and the First Amendment, in my view, was protected during the last election cycle, as opposed to 2020.
