00:00The House strongly believes it has incriminating evidence to convict Vice President Sara Duterte of misuse of confidential and intelligence funds and abuse of her power.

00:11Meanwhile, the Vice President is supremely confident she has the numbers in the Senate to dismiss the charges and absolve her from accountability,

00:20prompting her camp and legal counsels to exude optimism on her upcoming impeachment trial, as our Mela Les Moras reports.

00:30Several congressmen have reacted strongly against the statement made by Vice President Sara Duterte saying her lawyers believe she will win her impeachment trial before the Senate.

00:41According to Gabriela Partilist Rep. Arlene Brosas, the Vice President should first address the issue regarding her alleged misuse of confidential funds.

00:50Hindi niya nga maipaliwanag eh. So paano naging malakas yung kanyang kaso, yung kanyang impeachment arguments?

00:58Well, para sa amin, ano, sa mga pinakauna talaga na nag-push nito. Siyempre, ang usapin nito talaga panagutin, ano, si Sara Duterte sa mga matinding paglabag niya.

01:12House Committee on Women and Gender Equality Chair Geraldine Roman said evidence-wise, the House Prosecution Panel also holds strong information it can use against VP Sara.

01:22Everybody is entitled to his or her opinion. Pero magkakaalaman tayo. Pag na-convene na ang Senate as an impeachment court, diyan na talaga tayo magkakaalaman.

01:33Abangan ang susunod ng kabanata. Bumili na kayo ng popcorn. At manunod tayo ng impeachment trial.

01:40For House Assistant Majority Leader Jay Kung Hoon, the Vice President can be as confident as she wants but that won't change the facts.

01:48In addition, House Deputy Majority Leader Paolo Ortega said they now have information that points to non-existent or suspicious recipients of public funds from the OVP,

01:58which is not just an act of deception but allegedly a violation of the law itself.

02:02For her part, the Vice President had protested the statements made by some congressmen against her.

02:08In return, she also criticized the administration's 20 pesos rice program, which was immediately defended by a lawmaker.

02:14How negative naman. Can't we just celebrate this development?

02:19To be hasty and quite quick to judge, na sasabihin mo, this is just a political strategy.

02:24Para naman it reeks of crab mentality, na you do not celebrate the achievements.

02:30Ako, let's be fair. Let's give credit where credit is due.
