It comes after a series of vandal attacks on war memorials around the country, including in the central west and mid north coast regions of NSW.

00:00It was really disappointing wasn't it to see a couple of people decide that they
00:05would vandalise a war memorial leading up to Anzac Day. It's just un-Australian
00:10to be honest with you. That male and female who are responsible for that have
00:14been arrested and charged with malicious damage by the police at Orange. What I
00:20would say is yes we certainly are ramping up our patrols, our security. Here in
00:26Sydney we have 24-7 security of our monuments leading up to Anzac Day because
00:31you can't account for that one percent can you? Those idiots who would want to
00:36get out there and do something like that. It's really quite disgusting. If we find
00:40people who are doing the wrong thing there they will face the full force of
00:44the law I can assure you that. There'll be hundreds of officers out tomorrow. I don't
00:49normally disclose the exact number but suffice to say we'll be everywhere. We'll
00:53be throughout the night leading up to the dawn service, throughout the marches, the
00:58other commemorations throughout the day. You will see lots and lots of police out
01:01there.
