00:00Some big names in the competitive gaming industry were recognized at the 2024 Philippine Esports Awards held yesterday at the Asian Center Auditorium in Quezon City.

00:18The Asian Center Auditorium was filled with prominent personalities in the gaming industry for the annual Philippine Esports Awards.

00:25Some of the awardees were unique individuals who have mainly contributed to the rapid growth of esports in the Philippines,

00:32including the Filipino second prodigy, a.k.a. Leveres, as Esports Pro Controller of the Year,

00:38Bianca Yao for Philippine Esports Positive Influencer of the Year,

00:42and MP of Philippines caster, Chantel Hernandez, for Liga Darna Personality of the Year.

00:47One of the big winners of the night was seasoned esports caster, Manjin Faldas, as Esports Personality of the Year.

00:53According to Manjin, who is known for his high-casting style, esports in the Philippines have improved since it began in the 2000s.

01:01This is such a huge honor. This time, I think it's a broader category.

01:10And really thankful ako sa lahat ng mga entities and naging partners at nagtiwala sa akin,

01:14lalo-lalo na sa community, sa mga fans ng esports mismo.

01:21I really feel na they're a huge part of my journey.

01:24Kasi lahat naman tayo ay gusto lang din makarelate sa mga idols natin at kahit pa paano gusto rin natin maglaro doon.

01:31So, kung ano man yung game ninyo at ang angharap ngayon, ituloy-tuloy nyo lang yan.

01:36Kasi kung feeling nyo doon kayo magaling, focus on your wins at lulupit at lulupit kayo.

01:44Meanwhile, Games and Amusements Board Chairman Francisco Rivera assures that their agency will continue to support the growth of esports in the country.

01:52We exert all the efforts to help them and it seems that they're succeeding.

01:58The growth of esports in the Philippines is phenomenal.

02:02We have a lot of applicants and then there are a lot of events that are in place and more is set to come.
