#RoadRacing #RoadRace #Motorbike #Motorcycle #Motorcross #Racing #Motorsport #MXGP #MX-2 #MotorCrossWorldChampionship #MXGP2025 #MX2GP #MotoCrossGrandPrix

Transkrip
00:00...in the title race as the riders all lining up and in position with ready to go or MXGP Moto No. 1, the blind racing, 15 second board goes up, riders settling down, getting the bike in gear, short start straight 60 meters downhill into the right hander, 5 second board goes up,
00:22Membre holding the bike on the front brake and he will scream away from the line as the gate drops, here they come, into the first corner, 1 or 2 riders getting a nice sweep on the middle, Arnold Tonus there, wildcard, former MXGP rider getting a good jump, but it's one of the Koenens, another lightning start from the Belgians and No. 96 this time, Lucas Koen, much like his brother in MX2, knows how to get out of the gate,
00:51Geiser second and Siwa to the delight of the home crowd is in 3rd place, right alongside Ruben Fernandes who tries to squeeze through to 3rd and he does so, so Honda's now 2nd and 3rd, Siwa drops to 4th, Bonacorsi on the Fantic has gone away well, Arnold Tonus though, brilliant position for him in 7th at the gate,
01:12Bevere only in 8th position, he'll need to try and work up to the front, oh Geiser flying through the rollers here, putting Koen under pressure and the young Belgian is wise to it, shuts the door on the inside line, Lucas Koen,
01:27Koen, trying to break away in these early stages, but Geiser right on his tail as they make their way down towards the flat section at the bottom of the bank at the end of his first lap, Koen and guarding the inside line,
01:42Koen, the 18 year old, very quickly onto MXGP, and last year's MX2 runner-up, now really losing out to Kai DeWolf in the MX2 rankings,
01:54and certainly starting to show he's got what it takes to be a frontrunner in MXGP,
02:02like we were saying in MX2, of course, it's been a long wait for Belgium to have a world championship rider, the last world title holder being Sven Bruggemann's back in 2008,
02:12as we see Geiser just soaking up the braking bump, you can see some sharp bumps developing on some of the corners,
02:18as you move into this first MXGP moto, have already had MX2 moto number one on the course as well, so as the afternoon goes on, the track will get more gnarly and more rutted in places,
02:28Geiser, at the moment, just settling into that second place, lefting Lucas Koen at number 96 to all of the front running at this stage,
02:38further back we see Romain Febvre going down the inside of Carmen Vlandrin,
02:44squeezing around the outside of the number 10 there, Vlandrin on the Monster Energy factory Yamaha,
02:50and Febvre now moving into sixth position,
02:52but he needs to be closer to Geiser, that man there, number 243,
02:58Tim Geiser looking nice and smooth, Fernandes still third,
03:01local star Siwa in fourth position, Arnold Tonus still in the top 10,
03:06brilliant to see Tonus making his, what seems to be his annual appearance at the Swiss Grand Prix,
03:12Tonus the number 40 was, uh,
03:15formally mentored by the late
03:16George Jobay, multiple Belgian rider, world motocross champion,
03:22and Tonus' style very reminiscent of the silky smooth Belgian in his 1980s prime,
03:29and Tonus now 34, still approaching 34 years old,
03:33still showing he can run at the sharp end of MXGP on his rare outings,
03:38Adam Sterry in the top 20 for the Brits, Ben Watson not with a good start though,
03:41he's well out of the top 20 at this stage.
03:46John Adamson a bit further down as well,
03:48the Scotsman currently in 38th position,
03:51to make their way through,
03:52Kurnan leading by 1.4 seconds from Geiser in second,
04:00and Geiser already with his three MXGP world titles,
04:04one in 2016,
04:06and into that is extra three in, uh,
04:1119, 20 and 2022,
04:14so he'll be looking desperately to try and get that fifth world title,
04:17narrowly missing out last year on the title race with Jorge Prado,
04:22and Geiser losing some points at China in the closing rounds of the championship,
04:26which really cost him dearly,
04:29only losing out by the 10 points,
04:30so Geiser really starting on the front foot this year,
04:33he took double moto victories in Spain,
04:36and European round at Saint-Jean-d'Angeli,
04:39added to the double moto victory last weekend at Trentino,
04:44really putting the pressure on that one there,
04:46Roman Febvre,
04:46who's trying to close up in the title race,
04:48he's got past his countryman Roman Febvre,
04:51has got past Maxime Renault,
04:52so he's up into sixth place now,
04:54closing up on Andrea Bonacorsi,
04:57on the factory Fantic machine,
04:59Bonacorsi,
04:59another rider who was put into MXGP very early from the MX2 ranks,
05:06and the big Italian certainly looking at home on the Fantic machine,
05:09you can see,
05:11see we're just a little bit further in front,
05:12the Swiss flags waving as the Ducati goes flying through,
05:15and there we see a rather uncharacteristic mistake for the 243,
05:23Tim Geiser getting cross-rutted in the left-hander,
05:25losing a bit of time to Koen and who is settling in quite nicely at this stage,
05:30Koen and who took a first MXGP career victory at Sardinia,
05:36in the first moto,
05:37DNF moto number two,
05:40so certainly showing he's got the pace to win in MXGP,
05:45and as the second part of the season goes on,
05:47he'll be looking to try and get some consistency,
05:50a bit further down,
05:50good to see Brian Brogas back in chapter of action,
05:54the second of the factory Fantic riders,
05:56and that's the rider who was hit with injury earlier in the season,
06:00so Brogas settling in quite nicely,
06:01currently in 14th position,
06:04one or two riders still absent of course,
06:06being Paul Jonas,
06:07Isaac Gifting had that nasty accident a couple of rounds ago as well,
06:10he's still out with injury,
06:11as is the second of the Ducati riders,
06:13Mati Aguadnini,
06:14all of these riders should be back in a fortnight,
06:17the series moves to Agueda in Portugal,
06:22still sitting out at the moment,
06:24Jeffrey Hurlings down in 15th position,
06:27Hurlings who he said in the qualifying race was suffering from arm pump,
06:30he actually went,
06:31he put the KTM into one of the team sprinter vans,
06:36and yesterday when the riders had their downtime,
06:38he went over,
06:39about an hour over the border into Austria,
06:41found a practice track,
06:42and he went out doing some motos to try and cure that arm pump,
06:47and that is the curse of motocross riders,
06:50arm pump,
06:50it happens to Clubman riders,
06:53as much as it does to Grand Prix stars,
06:55the lactic acid building up in the forearms,
06:57making it very difficult to hang on to the bike,
07:01quite often it can be caused by setup of the bike,
07:03sometimes riders riding too tense,
07:05or being off the bike for some time,
07:07although in some cases it can be a physical surgical problem,
07:12we remember the great Belgian rider Marnik Ravort in the 1990s,
07:16he had to have surgery on the forearms,
07:18to try and cure the arm pump,
07:20it really blighted his career for a couple of seasons,
07:22look to Hurlings,
07:24fighting back from the arm pump,
07:26currently in 15th place,
07:27but his teammate,
07:28Lukas Koenig,
07:29is looking good at the front of the field here,
07:32he's controlling the race so far,
07:34very smooth as he chases his second MXGP Moto victory,
07:40and Koenig currently leading the race by just over 1.5 seconds,
07:45Geiser keeping in with him arms reach at the moment,
07:48any kind of a mistake here from Koenig,
07:49and Geiser will be right in there,
07:50the gap though is going up,
07:52and Geiser on the previous split,
07:54increasing the gap now to 2.6 seconds,
07:56and he starts to control the race,
07:58in these early stages,
07:59Fernandes still looking strong in third,
08:00and Fernandes consolidating that third position from Jeremy Siwa,
08:06currently in 4th place,
08:07Bonacorsi,
08:08Fevre still in 6th place,
08:10he really does need to get up with these leaders though,
08:12in terms of the title race,
08:13and there he is,
08:14Romain Fevre,
08:16trying to catch up here with Andrea Bonacorsi,
08:19and Jeremy Siwa fighting for 4th place,
08:22and listen to the Swiss fans in the background,
08:24the flags are waving,
08:26some of the spectators bringing the air horns,
08:28and even the chainsaw motors,
08:29to make some noise trackside,
08:32and they're all urging their rider on,
08:34but Bonacorsi has made his way through,
08:35into 4th place now,
08:38Siwa dropping to 5th,
08:40as he switches to the outside lines,
08:42missed a consistency of course,
08:43Jeremy Siwa well over 200,
08:45wrong pre-starts,
08:47and just the rider that Giacati would need,
08:49really to help develop,
08:51and improve their all new,
08:53Desmo 450cc machine,
08:55joined this weekend,
08:56by Alessandro Lupino,
08:58who's currently sitting,
08:59in the final point scoring position,
09:01in 20th position,
09:03last weekend of course,
09:05Antonio Cairoli joined the fun,
09:07and Trentino,
09:08at his home round,
09:09and the former,
09:11multiple world motocross champion,
09:13Antonio Cairoli,
09:14scoring some points,
09:15on the Giacati,
09:16but it's all down to Siwa,
09:18as the,
09:18flag bearing rider you might say,
09:21he's looking good in 5th place,
09:23and,
09:23trying to fend off,
09:24Romain Fevre,
09:26as you can see,
09:28this technical,
09:30tight,
09:30Ralfeld circuit,
09:31can be difficult,
09:31for overtaking opportunities,
09:33the rollers in particular,
09:34around the back of the circuit,
09:35tend to lend themselves,
09:36to being one of the main,
09:38overtaking opportunities,
09:39but Fevre having a look,
09:40on the outside,
09:42Siwa has the line,
09:43as they make their way,
09:43through the rollers,
09:44and it's like the Red Bull,
09:46straight rhythm here,
09:47as they make their way,
09:47through side by side,
09:48through the rollers,
09:50Fevre should have the momentum,
09:51on the outside,
09:52and he does so,
09:55so Romain Fevre,
09:57making his way now,
09:58into 5th position,
10:00now trying to set off,
10:02after Bonacorsi,
10:06Jeremy Siwa,
10:06keeping that pressure on,
10:08the Swiss fans,
10:09urging there,
10:10hometown rider on,
10:14only lives,
10:14about 25 minutes away,
10:16from this Ralfeld circuit,
10:17and,
10:18as he was saying,
10:19in the pre-race interviews,
10:20his brother,
10:20even getting involved,
10:21with the track building here,
10:23he's always been,
10:24the mechanical ace,
10:26behind the diggers,
10:27preparing the circuit,
10:29back on the track though,
10:30for Lucas Kernan,
10:31looking strong,
10:32at the front of the field,
10:33we'll have a look,
10:34at the start,
10:35once again,
10:37look out towards,
10:38the centre of the gate here,
10:39we see the KTM,
10:41making his way,
10:42down towards the inside line,
10:44snatching the whole shot,
10:45quite easily,
10:46Siwa crossed the line,
10:47in second position,
10:48another lightning start,
10:49on the Ducati,
10:51looking more towards,
10:52the centre of the gate there,
10:52there is Adam Sterry,
10:54on the number 811,
10:55getting a good drive,
10:56to the inside line,
10:57into that right-hander,
10:58right-handed first corners,
11:00always potentially,
11:01a bit more difficult,
11:02because the riders,
11:04not really able,
11:04to use the rear break,
11:05as much as they could,
11:06for a left-handed start,
11:08and I think towards,
11:09the back there,
11:09we saw some collisions,
11:10I think one of the riders,
11:11that went down actually,
11:12was Ben Watson,
11:13factory beta rider,
11:17is starting to make,
11:18his way through the field,
11:19he's got past,
11:19another one of the Brits,
11:20that's the 326,
11:22of Josh Gilbert,
11:23Cornishman,
11:24on the Lexer MX machine,
11:26currently,
11:27put down the field,
11:28oh as Federer goes down,
11:29exactly not,
11:30what he would have wanted,
11:31that's on the approach,
11:32to the roller section,
11:32he's straight back on,
11:33the factory Kawasaki,
11:35the monster energy rider,
11:36overtaken by the 24,
11:38of Kevin Haugmo,
11:39the Norwegian,
11:40team on the motor blues machine,
11:44let's have a look,
11:44what happened to Federer,
11:45oh he just dabbled,
11:46in the rut there,
11:46the front went,
11:48washing away from him there,
11:49only a small accident,
11:50I think he kept,
11:51the engine running,
11:53and Federer back on the bike,
11:54but he is down,
11:55to eighth position,
11:56so all the pressure,
11:57at the moment,
11:58is off Tim Geiser,
11:59the red plate holder,
12:02further down,
12:03the Swiss fans,
12:04urging their man on here,
12:05as Jeremy Seawear,
12:07fending off Maxime Renault,
12:08who's another rider,
12:10who's been very much,
12:10on the injury comeback,
12:13in 2025,
12:14he's,
12:15he did take,
12:16the second motor victory,
12:17at Argentina,
12:18took the early,
12:19driving terms,
12:20of the world championship,
12:21standings,
12:22but struggled,
12:23in some of the,
12:24rounds later on,
12:25he only managed,
12:25a few points in Sardinia,
12:27so it's dropped him,
12:27down to fifth,
12:28in the title race,
12:29but Renault,
12:30looking very good here,
12:31number 959,
12:32currently in sixth place,
12:33on the monster energy,
12:34factory Yamaha,
12:36as he tries,
12:36to close the gap,
12:37on Jeremy Seawear,
12:38Lucas Kernan,
12:40continuing to lead the way,
12:41by 2.8 seconds,
12:42as Renault keeps the pressure,
12:44on Seawear,
12:44Fernandes still in third,
12:46the young Spaniard,
12:47second of the HRC,
12:48factory Honda riders,
12:51Renault,
12:54still keeping that pressure,
12:56on Jeremy Seawear,
12:57really is the Swiss favourite,
13:01looking a bit further down,
13:03Onatona still on the edge,
13:04of the top ten,
13:05so certainly a good day,
13:06so far for the Swiss,
13:08saw earlier on,
13:10of course,
13:10they ran very well,
13:12in the,
13:12EMX 250,
13:14with Nico Griebman,
13:15getting a,
13:16step on the podium,
13:18in EMX 250,
13:19and for the Brits,
13:21Billy Askew,
13:22looking very good,
13:22he finished in fifth overall,
13:24and the Swedish riger,
13:26August Grisk,
13:27took the overall victory,
13:28in EMX 250,
13:30first EMX victory,
13:32for the young Sweden,
13:33much like Great Britain,
13:34Sweden,
13:34another nation,
13:35that's been,
13:36without a world champion,
13:38for many,
13:38many years,
13:39Marcus Hansen,
13:40taking the 1994,
13:42500 CC,
13:43world championship,
13:44but still then,
13:45since then,
13:45the Swedes have struggled,
13:46for world titles,
13:48and even moto victories,
13:50so who knows,
13:50maybe August Grisk,
13:52could be one to look out for,
13:53in the future,
13:54in MX2,
13:55but back to the present here,
13:57and Tim Geiser,
13:59can't really shake off,
14:00his teammate Fernandes here,
14:02there's room with Fernandes,
14:02in third,
14:03on the number 70,
14:06young Spaniard,
14:07when Geiser,
14:08had his injury worries,
14:09he was stepping in,
14:11deputizing as the HRC,
14:12team leader,
14:13and certainly making,
14:14a good showing of it,
14:15he's currently sixth,
14:16in the title race,
14:17yet to win a moto,
14:18in 2025,
14:21and certainly showing,
14:22he's got the speed,
14:24and the pace here,
14:25to potentially challenge,
14:26when he took,
14:27the qualifying victory,
14:28yesterday,
14:28so,
14:30certainly is showing,
14:30he could be,
14:31a front running contender,
14:32in MXGP,
14:35Fernandes doing,
14:36a great job here,
14:37of shadowing his teammate,
14:38I'm sure he won't want,
14:39to get too close,
14:40and pressure Geiser,
14:41but he'll be placing,
14:42the rear gunner position,
14:44here in third place,
14:45he's comfortably ahead,
14:45of Andrea Bonacorzi,
14:47in fourth position,
14:48but Ruben Fernandes,
14:50looking very strong indeed,
14:52as Siwa continues,
14:53to battle with Maxime Renault,
14:54a little bit further behind,
14:55listen to the crowd,
15:00as they get behind,
15:01the Swiss rider,
15:02on the Ducati,
15:03Siwa still in fifth place,
15:04running all he can,
15:06to try and find,
15:07find a way through here,
15:09you see Renault,
15:09down the inside,
15:11but the horses,
15:12on the factory Yamaha,
15:14kicking in there,
15:15and he had to back off,
15:16and unfortunately,
15:17for Renault,
15:17he couldn't quite,
15:18make that inside line stick,
15:20and Maxime Renault,
15:22remains,
15:22in that sixth position,
15:23Orgmo in seventh,
15:24Febvre,
15:25still only in eighth position,
15:27overtaking,
15:28can be very difficult,
15:29on the Fraunfeld circuit,
15:30so if a rider drops in,
15:31and makes a mistake,
15:33it means it can be,
15:33very difficult,
15:34to get back through,
15:35the top ten,
15:35we saw Radamo,
15:36take a long time,
15:37to overtake in MX2,
15:39earlier on today,
15:42and Febvre,
15:42still only in eighth position,
15:43he's ahead of Calvin Vlandrum,
15:45and Glenn Koldenov,
15:46has had a quiet race so far,
15:47he's down in tenth position,
15:48just ahead of another,
15:49one of the Swiss riders,
15:50Valentin here,
15:51on the Monster Energy,
15:52factory Yamaha,
15:53on Pancar 12,
15:54Toner still there,
15:55in thirteenth position,
15:58and Yago Gitt,
15:59another rider,
16:00on the injury,
16:00on the comeback trail,
16:01the Belgian currently,
16:02in fifteenth position,
16:04as we focus,
16:05on Romain Febvre,
16:08catching back up now,
16:09with Kevin Horgbo,
16:10number 24,
16:14Romain Febvre,
16:14this is exactly,
16:15where he doesn't need to be,
16:17he needs to be challenging,
16:17for race victories,
16:18and Febvre,
16:19who looks strong,
16:20at the start of the season,
16:22took the first Moto win,
16:23of the season,
16:24in Moto 1,
16:25in Argentina,
16:26his countryman,
16:27Maxi Bruno,
16:27taking Moto number 2,
16:29that day,
16:29so they were,
16:30fighting is out,
16:30at the front of the field,
16:32at the first round,
16:33but Tim Geister,
16:34really didn't come through,
16:35very quickly in Spain,
16:36and in the European round,
16:37at Saint-Jean-d'Angeli,
16:38and going into this round,
16:41of the championship,
16:41Tim Geister,
16:42after the qualifying race,
16:43yesterday,
16:4342 points ahead of Febvre,
16:45and he will increase,
16:46that gap,
16:47yet further,
16:47if Moto number 1,
16:49stays like this,
16:50he's already a mighty,
16:5285 points ahead,
16:53of Glenn Koldenov,
16:53third in the championship,
16:54coming into this Moto,
16:55and Koldenov,
16:56only in 10th so far,
16:59so he's struggling,
17:00at the moment,
17:00and this could be good news,
17:01for Lucas Koen,
17:02who's currently,
17:03fourth in the title race,
17:05and not too far behind,
17:07he was just under 20 points,
17:09behind Koldenov,
17:10going into this Moto,
17:11as Febvre has a look down,
17:12the inside,
17:12now of course,
17:13Horkmo's got the inside line,
17:14through the left-hander,
17:15oh,
17:16but look at that from Febvre,
17:17fights half a line,
17:18on the inside line,
17:19and makes the move stick,
17:20so Febvre,
17:21moving into 7th position,
17:24and on such a difficult circuit,
17:25to overtake,
17:26you've really got to make,
17:27half opportunities,
17:28like that count,
17:29and Romain Febvre,
17:31brilliant French,
17:32almost pains me to say,
17:33nowadays veteran rider,
17:34you would say,
17:35one of the elder statesmen,
17:36in MXGP,
17:37certainly showing,
17:38his experience counts,
17:40let's have a look at that again,
17:40bar to bar,
17:41going past the pit area,
17:43you would think Horkmo,
17:43had the line there,
17:45but Febvre made it his,
17:46goes for the tear off,
17:47with a clear track,
17:48in front of him,
17:49and Febvre back to work,
17:50so nice to close up,
17:52on the next riders,
17:53ahead of him,
17:53which are these two here,
17:55Jeremy Siwa,
17:55and Maxime Renaud,
17:56still enjoying their battle,
17:58Renaud has got through,
17:58into 5th place,
17:59Siwa drops to 6th position,
18:02and we'll look there,
18:03we just saw,
18:04going over the monster jump,
18:05we just saw Romain Febvre,
18:07so you'll see the riders,
18:08in front of him,
18:09and there's this battle,
18:10over the liquid money jump here,
18:12Febvre,
18:12closing up on these two,
18:14as Renaud tries the inside,
18:16of Siwa,
18:16and this time,
18:18makes the move stick,
18:19down the inside,
18:20moving across there,
18:20a bit of a block pass,
18:21going on there,
18:22from Maxime Renaud,
18:23moving to the outside line,
18:25fairly blocking Siwa,
18:27and preventing him,
18:28from making the repass,
18:29coming out of the corner,
18:30so a well executed move there,
18:32for Maxime Renaud,
18:33number 959,
18:35on the monster energy,
18:36back to Yamaha,
18:37running strongly so far,
18:38in that fifth place,
18:41there is Romain Febvre,
18:42trying to close up on Siwa,
18:45Lucas Kernan,
18:46leading the race,
18:46by three and a half seconds,
18:48from Tim Geiser,
18:49Ruben Fernandes,
18:49a bit further behind in second,
18:517.2 seconds of drift,
18:52on the race leader,
18:53Bonacorsi still in fourth,
18:54on the factory Fantic,
18:56and that would be,
18:58close to his best result,
19:00he was second,
19:01in the second round,
19:02of the championship in Spain,
19:04but Andrea Bonacorsi,
19:05has had some inconsistent results,
19:07in recent Grand Prix rounds,
19:08so great result for him so far,
19:11as we look at,
19:12Kevin Hawkman,
19:13the Norwegian,
19:14Nissan Motor Blues,
19:15on the machine,
19:16running strongly in eighth position,
19:17staying ahead of Calvin Blanderen,
19:19a little bit further down,
19:22as we look at Lucas Kernan,
19:24controlling the race here,
19:253.3 seconds ahead,
19:26at the front,
19:27his teammate Jeffrey Hurlings,
19:29has moved up to 15th position now,
19:33as he continues to try,
19:34and claw back the points,
19:36Hurlings in 15th,
19:37and he's battling,
19:38with Marshall Stauffer,
19:39the Austrian rider,
19:40who did brilliantly,
19:40last weekend,
19:41at Trentino,
19:43young Austrian,
19:4416th position,
19:45Adam Sterry,
19:4617th position,
19:47and Sterry just head of,
19:49Brian Bogers,
19:49and Alessandro Lupino,
19:51on the factory Ducati,
19:52as they battled further down the field,
19:55none of that will concern,
19:56Lucas Kernan here though,
19:57the runner up last year,
19:58in MX2,
19:59looking good so far,
20:00for his second moto victory,
20:02of the season,
20:03in MXGP,
20:03as Romain Febvre,
20:06certainly not giving this one up here,
20:08started to put the pressure,
20:09on Jeremy Seaver,
20:10as they make their way,
20:11through the bank left-hander,
20:12down the downhill step-down jump,
20:14and into the flat basin part,
20:16of the circuit here,
20:17through the right-hander,
20:18and the momentum,
20:21at the moment,
20:21is very much with Febvre,
20:22as he starts to claw back,
20:23his way towards the top five,
20:25but the local Swiss fans,
20:27are certainly getting behind,
20:28the hometown hero here,
20:29Jeremy Seaver,
20:30as Febvre has a peak,
20:31down the inside,
20:33they close up,
20:35another one of the Swiss contingent there,
20:36that was Loris Freide,
20:38currently in 34th position,
20:39but the back marker,
20:41moves to,
20:42away from the racing line,
20:43lets the past riders go through,
20:44but Febvre,
20:45determined to try,
20:46and get past the Ducati here,
20:48Ducati Desmo,
20:50450 machine,
20:51Ducati did,
20:53bring out a motocross bike,
20:54back in the 70s,
20:56but this is a very different proposition,
20:58and starting to retail the bike,
21:00it's a very exclusive machine,
21:02and certainly looks,
21:03like a strict motorcycle,
21:05in the flesh as well,
21:06so great to see Ducati,
21:07getting on board,
21:08as a motocross manufacturer,
21:12having a look on the inside,
21:14see we're certainly making,
21:15that all new machine,
21:16work well here,
21:19and you think of course,
21:20that it's still a bike,
21:23in its development stages almost,
21:25it's just started,
21:26to bring it out to the public,
21:27but it's an all new bike,
21:29and certainly running strongly,
21:30at the sharp end of MXGP,
21:32it's a real credit,
21:33to the Ducati engineers,
21:36and to the test riders,
21:37the likes of Alessandro Lupino,
21:38who's in this race of course,
21:39he's currently in 18th position,
21:41Tony Cairoli,
21:44making the switch from KTM,
21:45over to Ducati,
21:46something of a brand ambassador,
21:48and test rider,
21:49and as you saw last weekend,
21:50at Trentino,
21:51still showing he has,
21:52where it takes to score points,
21:53at Grand Prix level,
21:55so that experience,
21:56certainly benefiting Ducati,
21:59let's see what holds on,
22:00to the position,
22:01Febvre,
22:01just settling behind of it now,
22:03in seventh place,
22:04trying to find a way through,
22:05as Siwa doubles down,
22:06I'm sure he's being urged on,
22:07by the Swiss fans,
22:08you'll see,
22:11if you look at the handlebars,
22:12these machines,
22:13many of the riders,
22:14opting,
22:14pretty much all of the riders,
22:15I would say,
22:17opting to go,
22:17for the hand guards,
22:18you'll see the little bits of plastic,
22:20just in front of the,
22:21of the throttle,
22:23and the clutch,
22:24on the handlebars there,
22:25that's to protect the riders hands,
22:27because there's a lot of stones,
22:28in the roost here at Braunfeld,
22:30and the bumper gets kicked up,
22:31by the riders,
22:32and if you get one of those boulders,
22:34hit you in the knuckles,
22:35then oh,
22:36Febvre looking down the inside,
22:37if one of those boulders hits you in the knuckles,
22:39it would really,
22:40be very awkward indeed,
22:42in terms of controlling the bike,
22:43so you see,
22:44hand guards very much the feature of the day,
22:46but Febvre,
22:47just starting,
22:48to put the pressure,
22:49on the number 91 here,
22:50Jeremy Siwa,
22:52will he make the inside line work,
22:54rails the inside line,
22:56Siwa's got the drive on the outside line,
22:57but Febvre,
22:58not giving this one up,
22:59as he tries to go for the outside sweep,
23:01but no,
23:01Siwa has the corner,
23:03and should move across,
23:04yes he does,
23:05blocks Febvre,
23:05but Febvre's got the momentum,
23:06over the jump,
23:07over the monster ski jump,
23:08they go,
23:09and Febvre trying to find a way through here,
23:12goes to the inside,
23:14and they go bar to bar through the corners,
23:16they make their way to the roller section,
23:18and Febvre's got the line,
23:20and makes his way through to sixth place,
23:21but Siwa not giving up,
23:23round the outside he goes,
23:25Febvre's got the line to the corner though,
23:26and Roman Febvre holds on to the sixth place,
23:31up to the step up jump,
23:32they go,
23:32still Maxi Renault,
23:34just in front of them,
23:34in fifth place,
23:35on the factory Yamaha,
23:37Lucas Kornan continuing to lead the race,
23:39by four and a half seconds,
23:40from Tim Geiser,
23:41the gap moving up towards,
23:42five seconds at the front,
23:43as Kornan controls the race at the front,
23:45and Geiser having a fairly quiet race,
23:48in second place so far,
23:49but that will not be bad news at all,
23:51for the Slovenian,
23:52as he consolidates his championship lead,
23:55what a great ride here,
23:57for Andrea Bonacorsi,
23:59young Italian rider,
24:02very quickly moved up,
24:04to the MXGP ranks on the factory Yamaha,
24:06now moving to Fante for 2025,
24:10and the big Italian running well,
24:12in fourth position so far,
24:14he's had some good results this year,
24:17best results of course,
24:18the second round,
24:19second position in Spain,
24:20but there have been some inconsistencies,
24:23as he goes past the number 178,
24:26past some of the lapers there,
24:27that's Ramon Keller,
24:28another one of the local Swiss riders,
24:31jointly running in 28th position,
24:33and Bonacorsi looking quite comfortable,
24:35in that fourth position at the moment,
24:39about five,
24:40six seconds down on Fernandez in third,
24:42and the race just started to settle,
24:44into a rhythm here,
24:45amongst the top four riders,
24:47but all the action behind the fifth place,
24:49Maxine Renault can't afford to relax,
24:51with Roman Febvre,
24:52and Jeremy C,
24:53we're keeping the pressure on,
24:54but it's allowing Andrea Bonacorsi here,
24:57to have a brilliant,
24:58steady ride in fourth place,
24:59and gather those points,
25:01and just ahead of him of course,
25:02is Tim Geiser,
25:04Geiser 42 points ahead,
25:07in terms of the title race,
25:08coming into this moto,
25:09and with Febvre only in sixth place,
25:12that will certainly do his championship hopes,
25:14a lot of good here,
25:15even though he's not winning,
25:17at the moment he's controlling his pace,
25:18in second place,
25:19he's not pushing too hard,
25:20to force a move on Koen,
25:22and he's just maintaining that second position,
25:25Koen running a very strong pace,
25:26at the front here,
25:27so Geiser,
25:28settling into a nice rhythm here,
25:32Geiser of course running the number 243,
25:35in honour of his late brother,
25:38who died at a very young age,
25:39in a motocross accident,
25:42just spectating at a motocross event,
25:44he was born on the 24th of March,
25:47so Tim Geiser,
25:49his older brother Zan,
25:50honouring him of course,
25:51throughout his career,
25:52with the number 243,
25:54and he'll be looking to try,
25:55and take that on,
25:57to a fifth world motocross championship,
25:59in 2025,
26:01still a very long way to go of course,
26:04but results like this,
26:05will certainly go the right way,
26:06towards Geiser,
26:07who stays comfortably ahead,
26:08of his young Spaniard teammate there,
26:11Ruben Fernandez,
26:12in third place,
26:14number 70,
26:18very strong in that third position,
26:20great result here for HRC Honda,
26:21of course they've got the young guns,
26:23in MX2,
26:24Valerio Lata,
26:25and Ferruccio Zanke,
26:26really putting their emphasis,
26:28on youth in MX2,
26:33Ruben Fernandez,
26:34another rider who was brought,
26:35through the HRC system,
26:37from MX2,
26:38and certainly starting,
26:40to show his worth,
26:41as a title contender,
26:42in 2025,
26:44just on the edge,
26:45of that,
26:46front running championship battle,
26:48a very strong ride here,
26:50for it at the moment,
26:50third position,
26:52has struggled for consistency,
26:54in the first part,
26:55of the season,
26:56he's had some good strong results,
26:57but,
26:57had a couple of DNFs,
26:58or low point score finishes,
27:00Fernandez,
27:02Fernandez at the moment,
27:02looking very good,
27:03in the closing stages,
27:04on MXGP,
27:05Moto number one,
27:06the leading the way,
27:07the number 96,
27:08of Lucas Kernan,
27:09still only 18 years of old,
27:1418 years of age,
27:15twin brother,
27:16of Sasha Kernan,
27:18who we see over in MX2,
27:20so Lucas Kernan,
27:21last year's MX2,
27:23runner up,
27:24in the world championships,
27:26nine Grand Prix victories,
27:28last year,
27:29including the last three rounds,
27:30of the championship,
27:31it wasn't enough,
27:32to catch up on Kaido Wolf,
27:34taking the brave move,
27:35we would say,
27:35for such a young rider,
27:36to go straight in,
27:37to MXGP,
27:39but he's certainly,
27:40hit the ground running here,
27:41and certainly showing that,
27:42could be the man,
27:44to take things forward,
27:45for Red Bull KTM,
27:48such a long storied,
27:49history,
27:50of championship success,
27:51championship success,
27:53for the Austrian manufacturer,
27:55back in the late 2000s,
27:58they signed Tony Cairoli,
27:59from Yamaha,
28:01really took the bat,
28:02on MXGP,
28:03Jeffrey Hurlings,
28:04of course,
28:05winning,
28:05two times,
28:08in the last few years,
28:102018,
28:11at the 21 world title,
28:13for KTM as well,
28:14but Hurlings,
28:14of course,
28:15struggling,
28:15to come back,
28:16from the ACL,
28:17the knee injury,
28:18from late last season,
28:19so at the moment,
28:20Lucas Kernan,
28:21starting to establish himself,
28:23as the Red Bull factory,
28:24KTM team leader,
28:26and certainly hoping,
28:28to try,
28:29keeping title contention,
28:30here,
28:30he's currently four,
28:32in the title standings,
28:33quite a way down,
28:33almost 100 points down,
28:35on Tim Geiser,
28:36coming into,
28:37this Swiss round,
28:38but the sixth round,
28:39of the championship,
28:40of course,
28:40still a long way to go,
28:41so,
28:42Lucas Kernan,
28:43he's got to keep on going,
28:45here,
28:45keep grabbing,
28:46the motor victories,
28:47where he can,
28:48as we always know,
28:49in motocross,
28:49anything can happen,
28:50all it would take,
28:52is a small mistake,
28:52and an injury,
28:53and it could really turn,
28:54the title race,
28:55on its head,
28:56we were talking earlier,
28:58of course,
28:58about the 2007,
29:00world title,
29:00for Steve Ramon,
29:01the second,
29:03of his,
29:04two world title victories,
29:06and still to this date,
29:07the last Belgian,
29:08to win a MX1,
29:09or MXGP,
29:11world title,
29:13all about consistency,
29:14for Ramon that year,
29:15because Josh Coppins,
29:16the New Zealander,
29:16was the run to beat,
29:17for most of the year,
29:18until a mechanical failure,
29:20at Lockett,
29:21caused it to crash,
29:22break his collarbone,
29:24and the points,
29:25he lost in the closing,
29:26round to the championship,
29:27were enough,
29:28to give,
29:29Ramon the crown,
29:30that season,
29:31so,
29:31at the moment,
29:31still very much looking,
29:32like it's going to be,
29:33Geis' year at this stage,
29:34but still,
29:35plenty to fight for,
29:36for the leading,
29:37MXGP title contenders,
29:39and Ramon Febvre,
29:42really catching up,
29:43on Maximo Renor,
29:44at this stage,
29:45as we look,
29:46at the number 10,
29:47of Carmen Blundgren,
29:48leaping very deeply,
29:49down the inside,
29:50heading towards,
29:50the liquid molly jump,
29:52as he goes,
29:52down the inside,
29:53of one of the lapers there,
29:54the number 53,
29:57that's Ramon Febvre,
29:58the French rider,
29:59currently in 27th position,
30:02launching their way,
30:02through some of the riders here,
30:04and full harbour land,
30:05from just over the border,
30:06in Germany,
30:08in the,
30:09pretty much,
30:10the northern part,
30:11of Switzerland,
30:12here about 30 minutes,
30:13northeast of Zurich,
30:14and not too far,
30:16from some of the major cities,
30:17such as Munich,
30:17and a bit further north,
30:20such as Stuttgart,
30:21as well,
30:21so quite a few,
30:22of the German,
30:23riders and supporters,
30:25in attendance here,
30:26as we head towards,
30:28the closing stage,
30:29is Lukas Gernan,
30:30looking very good,
30:30as he closes up,
30:31towards his second,
30:32moto victory,
30:33of 2025,
30:35still got three laps to go,
30:37including the lap,
30:38he's on right now,
30:39but he should be getting,
30:39the two lap board,
30:40very shortly,
30:41as he makes his way,
30:42up towards,
30:43the Monster Energy,
30:44finish line tabletop jump,
30:45and two laps to go,
30:47for the 18 year old Belgian,
30:50Ramon Febvre,
30:51still charging,
30:52in sixth place,
30:53but he will lose points,
30:54to Tim Geiser,
30:55in the title race,
30:56going and leaning,
30:58quite comfortably,
31:00as we recap,
31:02that mistake,
31:03from Ramon Febvre,
31:04earlier in the moto,
31:05fine margins,
31:07at the top end,
31:07of world motocross,
31:08just a small mistake,
31:09like that from Febvre,
31:10and it really has,
31:11cost him dearly,
31:12he's been playing,
31:12catch up throughout the race,
31:14but that neat,
31:15little move there,
31:16on Kevin Hortmo,
31:17got him back,
31:18up to seventh position,
31:19then he got to sixth,
31:20when he got past,
31:22hometown star,
31:23Jeremy Seward,
31:24nipping down the inside,
31:25after quite,
31:25quite a bit of pressure,
31:26on the Swiss rider,
31:28over several laps,
31:29and Febvre now,
31:30into sixth place,
31:34but at the moment,
31:35it looks like,
31:36Maxime Renault,
31:37is comfortably ahead,
31:37in fifth position,
31:38Lucas Koenig,
31:39continuing to lead the way,
31:40by 7.5 seconds,
31:41with two laps to go,
31:46Koenig,
31:46like we were saying,
31:47in MX2,
31:48with the likes,
31:49of Liam Evans,
31:50and his twin brother,
31:51Sacha Koenig,
31:51amongst the,
31:53young generation,
31:54of Belgian riders,
31:55when he considered,
31:56it's been so long,
31:57since a Belgian rider,
31:58has won,
31:58a world,
31:59motocross title,
32:01last time that happened,
32:02was Sven Bruegelman,
32:03back in 2008,
32:05and the,
32:06hunt is very much on,
32:07for the next,
32:07Belgian superstar,
32:09could it be,
32:09Lucas Koenig,
32:10the rider,
32:13who grew up,
32:14really idolizing,
32:15the likes of,
32:15Ricky Carmichael,
32:16and James Stewart,
32:18I think,
32:19usually the Belgians,
32:20with the,
32:20heritage of,
32:22Grand Prix racing,
32:22but,
32:23Lucas Koenig's,
32:24idol is very much,
32:25in America,
32:26and,
32:27he's making,
32:27a lot of noises,
32:28early on his career,
32:29about wanting to go to America,
32:30but just seems,
32:31to be settling in,
32:32on the here and now,
32:33on his MXGP career,
32:35as he looks,
32:35to establish himself,
32:36as an MXGP frontrunner,
32:41looked good,
32:42last year in MX2,
32:43it was,
32:43really something of a surprise,
32:45to see him making,
32:45the early switch to MXGP,
32:47but he really has,
32:48handled it so well,
32:49as he moves on,
32:49to the last lap,
32:51here in Switzerland,
32:55still only a teenager,
32:56of course,
32:56and he's up against,
32:57some of the,
32:58very experienced riders,
32:59the likes of,
32:59Romain Fevre,
33:01Glenn Koldenoff,
33:02riders well into their third,
33:03is Tim Geiser,
33:04of course,
33:05one of his senior,
33:05riders now,
33:06in MXGP,
33:07and he's leading the ball,
33:08by 7.6 seconds,
33:10as he goes through,
33:11the rollers,
33:11for the final time,
33:12Lucas Kolden,
33:13into the left hander,
33:15he's got a clear track,
33:16in front of him,
33:17he's controlled the race,
33:17very well so far,
33:19and he's just got,
33:20to bring it home,
33:21around the final few corners,
33:24but,
33:26okay,
33:26throw a nickel,
33:27in front of him there,
33:27the German rider,
33:2923rd position,
33:30doesn't need to brush here,
33:31as the blue flags,
33:31go up for the lapper,
33:34as nickel looks,
33:35behind his shoulder there,
33:36and,
33:36holds his line,
33:38Kolden will have to try,
33:39and find his way through,
33:40but he's in no rush here,
33:41look at Kolden,
33:41he's taking it nice and easy here,
33:42up on the pegs,
33:43as he goes through the right hander,
33:44not rushing,
33:46to get past the back marker,
33:47and risk dropping the machine here,
33:49taking it nice and smooth,
33:51past the pit lane,
33:51for the final time,
33:53and the number 96,
33:54Lucas Koonen,
33:55really showing,
33:57what should be a,
33:58championship contenders ride,
34:00he would say,
34:00got to the lead,
34:01got to the front,
34:02nice and early,
34:02took the lead,
34:03and has controlled the race,
34:05as Lucas Koonen,
34:07showing that he could,
34:07still be a factor,
34:08in MXGP,
34:09for 2025,
34:10as he takes the chequered flag,
34:13for Red Bull KTM,
34:15brilliant race victory there,
34:16for Lucas Koonen,
34:18but Tim Geiser,
34:18will finish second,
34:19and that will really benefit,
34:21his championship aspirations,
34:22and consolidate his lead,
34:24at the head of the title race,
34:27so Geiser second,
34:29Fernandes third,
34:31Andrea Bonacuzzi,
34:32with a strong fourth position,
34:35and the master,
34:36and the apprentice there,
34:37Geiser and Koonen,
34:39shaking hands,
34:40as they cross the line,
34:41Geiser,
34:43of course he hasn't won the race,
34:44but I'm sure he'll be very pleased,
34:46with that second position,
34:47because with,
34:49Fevre only finishing,
34:50in sixth place,
34:52that spill at the start,
34:53of the motor,
34:54really costing him dearly,
34:55that will really consolidate,
34:57Tim Geiser's lead,
34:57he was 42 points ahead,
34:59going into this motor,
35:00so he will increase,
35:01his title lead,
35:02at the front of MXGP,
35:05right there for Andrea Bonacuzzi,
35:07in fourth place,
35:07and Ruben Fernandes of course,
35:08filling out the podium,
35:10for Honda,
35:11HRC second and third,
35:13Maxime Renault,
35:14with a strong fifth place,
35:15staying ahead of Romain Fevre,
35:16Jeremy Siwa,
35:17the hometown star,
35:18in seventh place,
35:19Kevin Haugmo in eighth,
35:20Carmel Vlander at ninth,
35:21and Glenn Koldenoff,
35:22having a quiet race,
35:24by his standards,
35:24the Fantic rider,
35:25finishing in tenth position,
35:27Balaton Guillaume,
35:28eleventh place,
35:29for the home crowd,
35:30the Swiss rider,
35:31Arnold Tonus,
35:32held on to,
35:33I think it was,
35:34a length,
35:34fall through there,
35:35went down to 15,
35:37at the end,
35:38of the moto,
35:39just behind,
35:41Jeffrey Hurlings,
35:41who gets up to,
35:4214th position,
35:43with Jan Pankar,
35:44moving up to 12th,
35:45in the closing stages,
35:47Adam Steri 17th,
35:48and Ben Watson,
35:4918th position for the Brits,
35:50but Lucas Kurnan,
35:51your moto winner.
35:53Lucas Kurnan,
35:54congratulations,
35:54you picked up your first,
35:55box hole shot,
35:56of the campaign,
35:57you looked silky smooth,
35:58and then picked up,
35:59your second race win,
36:00in the premier class,
36:01you didn't put a wheel wrong.
36:03No, no,
36:04I was running really good,
36:05I knew the start was important,
36:06I can do good starts,
36:08so I take advantage of it,
36:10and just lead the whole moto,
36:11Tim was pushing a bit,
36:12in the beginning,
36:13was a bit weak,
36:13because he's used to it,
36:15I'm not so much,
36:16but I'm learning,
36:18like I said,
36:18was a good moto,
36:19got a bit of ampam,
36:20so I was a bit scared about that,
36:21like yesterday,
36:22I couldn't ride,
36:23but yeah,
36:25a second moto is coming,
36:26so we give our best,
36:27good start,
36:27and then we'll see.
36:28Great job,
36:29thanks Lucas.
