As Everton prepare for the summer under David Moyes, one of the biggest questions is what to do about Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
While Moyes appreciates Calvert-Lewin’s physicality and work rate, there’s a growing feeling that the Toffees may need to bring in competition up front.

00:00now as Everton prepare for the summer under David Moyes one of the biggest questions is what to do
00:08about Dominic Calvert-Lewin the striker has shown flashes of his old form this season but recurring
00:13injuries has made it difficult for Everton to fully rely on him while Moyes appreciates Calvert-Lewin's
00:20physicality and work rate there's a growing feeling that the Toffees may need to bring in
00:24competition up front I spoke to Will Rooney of Liverpool World who discusses Calvert-Lewin's
00:30qualities as a striker but believes Everton can't afford another season where their main man is
00:35missing for large chunks with Premier League safety secured attention turns to next season and finding
00:42a consistent goal threat will be key whether Calvert-Lewin remains central to that plan or not
00:47could define Everton's summer Will on to Everton and let's just look at Dominic Calvert-Lewin
00:54his fitness his situation obviously nearing a return and we've mentioned his contract situation
00:59before we get on to the contract you feel David Moyes's side could could use Calvert-Lewin at the
01:05moment you feel Moyes should you know return him straight into the starting 11 when he's back fit
01:10how do you how do you go about it because obviously it's a bit of an awkward situation it's a bit of a
01:14crossroads for both player and manager at the moment with the contract situation in the summer
01:20um and then you know Calvert-Lewin maybe wanting to to to even earn a move somewhere else it's it's quite a strange one when you look at it like that
01:28yeah it's it is um you can look at it two ways David Moyes wants to finish as high as possible in the Premier League
01:36so will Everton a to take momentum into next season b because of the prize money that's on off the pair place
01:42and if Dominic Calvert-Lewin is deems Everton's best option then I don't think David Moyes will
01:50have any hesitation to play him but by the same token are you looking to plan for next season are you looking
01:57who you can who you can have an eye on who do you want to be part of your plans
02:02it starts to armando Brogier at Nottingham Forest Brogier now I don't think anyone expects Brogier to be
02:09signing for Everton on a permanent deal this summer absolutely not but given his injuries
02:15will any club want to sign him on a permanent um in the summer will he have to settle for another
02:21loan move could Everton maybe look at another loan if he impresses in these last few games
02:26you've got a player in Beto who has had a bit of a dip now but
02:30has done well for David Moyes since he arrived Everton have played to his strengths a lot more
02:36did well off the bench against Forest and you've also got Youssef Chimiti there who
02:40who has had a frustrating season with injuries but
02:44impressed during pre-season and will want to show what he can do ahead of the next season
02:49um and of course Dominic Calvert-Lewin if it is if it is to be
02:53the end of his time at Everton in the summer do you look at it and think well I need to look after
03:01the club here if I'm David Moyes I need to look after what we're doing
03:05and I'm afraid to say Dominic that you might not get too many more minutes even though you are back
03:10which it would be a shame because because for all of his issues and it's disappointing how it might end
03:18how it's looking it might end but he has given us all for Everton when he has been available to be fair
03:24to him probably played through injuries which haven't helped him in the past I mean certainly
03:29in that that season where Everton you know under Benitez and Frank Lampard maybe was playing when
03:38he weren't quite fit and fair play to him for that but Everton have got to look after themselves as well
03:44so it'll be interesting I think he's about two weeks away from maybe being able to return but
03:48as well because it's such a lengthy hamstring injury I don't think anyone will be wanting to take any
03:55doubts the player won't want to be risking another recurrence that might scupper a move in in the
04:03summer and Everton have got a duty of care to him as well let's not forget he's an evident he's an
04:08evident player he's been at the club for for many years now and they deserve to if he is going to depart
04:16then they deserve to send him off in in the best shape possible but it is interesting what what will
04:22happen when he is fit but he needs to get there first and it's at least a couple of weeks away
04:26and it'll be Everton's luck that he'll get a move into summer he'll probably start firing on other
04:32cylinders but if he does then good luck to the lad because he he is a real talent and if he can find
04:40that form again then then he could be an asset for any club
04:43you
