00:00Now Everton are already planning for the summer under David Moyes
00:06who return to Goodison Park with a clear goal of bringing long-term stability.
00:11With Premier League safety secure,
00:13attention is turning to strengthening key areas of the squad ahead of next season.
00:19Moyes is expected to target reinforcements in midfield and defence
00:23with an emphasis on adding experience
00:25while also continuing to bring through younger talent.
00:28The goal is to build a side capable of pushing into the top half
00:32and avoiding another year of battling near the bottom.
00:36Ilman and Dye has made a strong impression since arriving,
00:39offering creativity and energy in the final third.
00:42His versatility has given Everton something different in attack
00:45and could see him play a key role next campaign.
00:49I spoke to Will Rooney of Liverpool World who said
00:51and Dye's impact has been clear already,
00:53who also believes Moyes sees him as central to Everton's push
00:58for more attacking threat and consistency going forward.
01:02And let's just touch on Ilman and Dye.
01:07Do you feel he's been a real benefit to Everton this season
01:12and his future could be really impressive?
01:15I mean, he's popped up with a few crucial goals.
01:17He seems like the calm head in the final third,
01:20something that they certainly lacked under Sean Dyche
01:22and David Moyes has come in and obviously really given Dye a platform.
01:26Obviously, he's been injured a few times,
01:28but his impact on the side is clearly really positive
01:33and it certainly looks like he's aiming for a big season next campaign
01:37and he wants to make sure that he's a real starter
01:40and a real turn to proper number 10 for Everton next campaign.
01:45Yeah, well, he hasn't played number 10 much, to be honest with you.
01:47And I think that's the position maybe he regards as his best.
01:50He plays mainly out wide and he scored nine goals in all competitions,
01:55which is a really good return for someone in their first proper season
02:00in the Premier League.
02:02Everton were long-time admirers of him.
02:06He obviously went to Marseille from Sheffield United to come back
02:09and probably some people looking at him thinking,
02:12well, if he failed in France, are you going to do it here?
02:14But he's been fantastic in most games he's played in.
02:18He has a little bit of a quiet spell, but he's picked up again,
02:22picked up that, got that injury and he's made his mark scoring
02:27against Arsenal from the penalty spot.
02:28It's a real cool penalty and look, if you can get 10 goals,
02:33if you just had an elementary day, I'll score you 10 goals
02:36at the start of the season, a lot of people would have taken it.
02:39Now, the only thing you need to add to his game,
02:41I don't think he's got an assist yet.
02:43And if you are a creative player, then you need to start setting up goals
02:47as well as scoring.
02:49So that's something he needs to add to his game.
02:51But, yeah, I asked David Moyes before the Arsenal game,
02:53number 10, is that something that you think he could do?
02:56And he said that's what, I want to try and have a look at him there
03:00in that position, which makes a lot of sense because he is someone
03:04who can unpick a lot.
03:07And if you've got Dwight McNeil back to play on the left, maybe,
03:10then you've got a winger there who will be getting crosses into the box.
03:13And you've got to prop it out now, number 10, someone who will work hard
03:17as well.
03:18He's not afraid to put a shift in.
03:20He might be like Abdoulaye Takoura in terms of his running power,
03:23but he'll definitely graft for you.
03:25But he's been a really good signing.
03:27I think he's one that you look at thinking he could be a real star
03:31of the seventh team if he stays for years to come.
03:33There have been many names, the first felons that David Moyes was,
03:37and you think I like it being Stephen Pienaar in terms of forwards,
03:41Tim Cahill and others like that.
03:44Kevin Morales has a really good spell at Everton.
03:48Can he be that next player?
03:50Someone who you think is capable of going to the next level?
03:55I think maybe it didn't work out for Pienaar of Tottenham.
03:59And, yeah, I think he is the one that you look at.
04:01If you carry on this subject of trajectory,
04:03then there'll definitely be other teams who will be sniffing about him.
04:06Michael Keane, the centre-back as well.
04:09He hasn't, I don't think he's made an appearance,
04:11or maybe he's made a couple of some appearances since David Moyes arrived.
04:16He'll want to go and play football after a frustrating few years.
04:20They're just a guy on the game.
04:21He's the one that everyone's looking at, I think,
04:23in terms of wanting to keep, can Everton keep hold of him?
04:26Because he's 35, 36, but he isn't slowing down.
04:30And Everton needs some continuity,
04:33even though everyone wants a big summer transfer window.
04:37There needs to be some players there.
04:39And if you keep that spine of the team,
04:41then you're doing something right.
