We went out into the streets of Manchester to ask people how early they book their holidays and whether they have any money saving travel hacks.

00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Houston Betts and today I'm out in Manchester asking people about holidays.
00:04And that's because after the Easter holidays have finished, we're now looking ahead to the summer.
00:08A big period of time where a lot of people will be going off and trying to take advantage of the sun.
00:12We want to know if they've started booking it already. Do they think it's better to book early or book late? Let's go find out.
00:18So this year I think we booked four or five months in advance.
00:22And then maybe later on in the year we'll book a few more spontaneous ones.
00:25So about one or two weeks, see what happens.
00:27I've booked something in May, but that's it.
00:30I'm a bit of a skyscanner bandit. I'll see what's the last minute thing and just end up going random places.
00:35Teaches you about strange parts of the world you wouldn't think to go to beyond a geography lesson in school or something.
00:40I think when we've got a bigger group of people, we'll always book more in advance.
00:43Then if it's me and my partner, we'll only go in two weeks' time.
00:46Website called Priceline. If you go on Priceline, Priceline Express Deals, right?
00:50Remember this. They do a mystery hotel and then you can get an extension on Google Chrome which reveals what the mystery hotel is going to be.
00:57Super cheap. Saved so much money doing that.
