00:00Listen y'all, we are not fighting for victory. We are fighting from victory.
00:05You are already positioned in a place of victory in your life.
00:09The task now is to station yourself there.
00:12And we'll talk about this a little bit more later.
00:14But stationing yourself in a place of victory and then realizing that you're just going to claim what God has already given you.
00:21Gideon teaches us that if we want to win the battle, we've got to begin the battle on our knees.
00:31And you know, the only reason why Gideon was able to, why Mama was able to worship God in the face of impending danger,
00:38we find the reason why in what Gideon said to the men when he went back to the camp.
00:43Verse 15, he returned to the camp of Israel and he said,
00:47Arise, for the Lord has given, somebody say has given.
00:51The Lord has given the camp of Midian into your hands.
00:55He said to them, Arise.
00:57He went back to the 300.
00:59He said, Arise, get up, get your stuff together.
01:02We're ready to go and we're going because the Lord has already given the Midianites into our hands.
01:09He did not go to them and say, Get up, we're going to go fight in hopes that we will win a victory.
01:13He did not say, Get up, arise, we're going to go and we're going to expect that maybe God is going to give us the victory.
01:19Carmen, what he said was, he said, Get up, arise, we're going in anticipation, knowing in advance that the victory has already been won.
01:28You know how you win a victory, my friend?
01:30You begin the battle on your knees and you face the battle from a stance of victory.
01:37Listen, y'all, we are not fighting for victory.
01:40We are fighting from victory.
01:43You are already positioned in a place of victory in your life.
01:47The task now is to station yourself there.
01:50And we'll talk about this a little bit more later.
01:52But stationing yourself in a place of victory and then realizing that you're just going to claim what God has already given you.
01:59Do you remember when the children of Israel went into the promised land?
02:02In Joshua chapter 1, God is confirming his calling of Joshua.
02:06He's saying to him, You be strong and courageous when you march into the land.
02:10And then he said to him, Every place you put your feet, you will have access to.
02:15I have already given the promised land to you.
02:17The whole of it already belongs to you.
02:19But you'll only get to enjoy as much as you put your feet on.
02:23So listen, for centuries, the children of Israel were holed up in a little small corner of Canaan
02:28when they had access to the whole of it simply because they were too intimidated by the Canaanites
02:33to go over there and step on that land.
02:35I don't know about you, but I don't want to be so intimidated by the enemy
02:38that I don't get to experience the blessings that God has already got with my name on it.
02:44All it takes is you and I walking in the truth of what we know from God's Word.
02:49Listen, there are over 8,000 promises in the Word of God for believers in Jesus Christ.
02:56Did you hear what I just said?
02:588,000, over 8,000 promises.
03:02These are things that are just available to us because we're daughters of the King,
03:06because we've been adopted into the family of God,
03:09because they're just our inheritance,
03:11because He's a good God and likes to give good gifts.
03:13He just passed on all these promises to us, my friend.
03:16But listen, most of them He did not place within our hand.
03:21He placed them in our reach.
03:22In other words, you have to participate in the experience of those promises in your life.
03:32When you are fighting a battle in your life,
03:35you need to know that the promises God has for you,
03:37the promises the Word of God has already laid out for you in your life,
03:42they are already yours.
03:43You're not fighting for them.
03:45You're fighting from a stance of victory.
03:47You plant yourself on the Word of God,
03:50on the truths of what it says,
03:52and then you go and claim what God has.
03:54Listen, whatever you need to do to make sure this Word is in your heart and in your mind,
03:59I mean, that's what you've got to do.
04:00Listen, if you are a mother of small children right now
04:04and it's hard for you to get this time in the Word of God,
04:08if you are a busy career woman right now,
04:10if this is a difficult time on your job,
04:12if you're busy in ministry right now,
04:13maybe you're taking care of your aging parents,
04:15and man, it's taking all of your hours,
04:18and it's just a lot,
04:18and you're having trouble spending time in the Word of God.
04:21Listen, when you're in a battle,
04:23you can't afford not to have a strategy book at your disposal,
04:26in your mind, in your heart,
04:27ready, preparing you for war.
04:29You've got to have the book open
04:32and inside of you, ingrained into your life.
04:36So even if you have to do it in unconventional ways,
04:39I will tell you that for a very long time,
04:40how I've spent time with God is
04:42because of these three little people that are in my life.
04:47Sometimes I just write a scripture verse down
04:49on a three-by-five card, several of them,
04:51and I put one where I'm going to be washing dishes
04:53and one where I'm going to be folding clothes
04:55and one in the car on the dashboard
04:56where I'm going to be running errands,
04:57and for seven days, maybe seven full days,
05:00I'm just concentrating on that one verse.
05:02I'm just meditating on it,
05:03and I'm just mulling over it,
05:04and I'm just thinking about it,
05:05and I'm asking the Lord to use it in my life,
05:07and at the end of seven days,
05:09that thing is inscribed on my heart.
05:11It is better for you and I
05:13to inscribe one verse of scripture on our heart
05:15than to read two or three chapters of scripture in a day,
05:17and we have absolutely no idea what we just read.
05:20Do whatever you need to do
05:22in whatever unconventional ways
05:24to make sure you know the victory
05:26that has already been given to you,
05:28to know what has already been declared about you,
05:31the promises that he has already extended to you,
05:33and then you fight from a stance of victory,
05:37not for it, but from it.
05:39I wonder how the 300's perspective,
05:43those 300 men,
05:45I wonder how their perspective changed
05:46when Gideon came,
05:47I mean, when he had left,
05:48remember when Gideon left,
05:50he was insecure and uncertain and timid,
05:52and then he went down
05:53and heard those two guys talking about him,
05:55and he came back and said,
05:56y'all get up, arise,
06:00we're getting ready to go get us a victory today.
06:03I wonder how the 300's confidence changed
06:06when their leader's confidence changed.
06:09I wonder how when he came back into the camp
06:12with a smile on his face
06:13and holy anticipation burning in his soul,
06:15I just wonder how it spread like a wildfire
06:18from the beginning of the front lines of the 300
06:21all the way to the back,
06:23I just wonder how it spread,
06:24and I just wonder what would happen
06:26if you and I left a simulcast today
06:28and we went back into the frigid temperatures
06:31of our home or our work or our circumstances
06:33and we brought the warmth and the passion
06:35and the enthusiasm of victory with us.
06:37I wonder how things would change
06:39in our children's lives
06:40and in our spouses' lives,
06:41not because we go home and start preaching to them,
06:43just because we go home and start living
06:45like the victorious women that we are.
06:49We're not steeped in fear and insecurity
06:51and lack of confidence anymore.
06:52We are resting on the knowledge
06:54and the truth of our great God.
06:57We understand that the victory
06:59has already been given to us.
07:00You set the thermometer,
07:02set the thermostat rather in your home,
07:04in your marriage,
07:05in your church.
07:06You be the one who calls others
07:08out of the cold, frigid air of defeat
07:09to the warmth and passion of victory
07:12in Jesus Christ.
07:14Gideon did it for the 300
07:15and you can do it for those
07:17in your sphere of influence as well,
07:19so can I.
07:20We begin the battle on our knees
07:22and we face the battle.
07:23We face it from a stance of victory.
