00:01Ain't no way. I mean, I definitely, radio tour was, it was hard. It was really, really hard. I'm not going to lie to y'all. Y'all see it come in and out all the time. It taught me a lot, and the truth is I made a lot of friends along the way that, I mean, I still text and we talk all the time.
00:20But I do remember one specific stop. I was not prepared for this. I go in and we, you know, waited in the foyer and he brings us in his office and he said, play me what you got. And this was my first single, Dirty Looks. And thank you. We got two in the crowd.
00:42Shelly, you don't count. She's on the program to you. I love you, sister, for that. Thank you.
00:52But anyway, he said, he said, well, you should have left your guitar in the car because I don't want to hear you play. And I was like, I'm going to tell you right now. And then, and I was like, all right, well, I'm going to be dealing with a doozy today.
01:05So, uh, I said, okay. He said, I want to hear what it sounds like through my speakers. Well, he had like 1997 computer speakers. So, of course, it's going to sound like this.
01:16You know, it's like he couldn't understand anything that the song was saying. And he listened to it twice and, uh, back to back. And I was just sitting there and he let the second time finish.
01:27And he leans across his desk and he said, uh, he said, Laney, you're just not that good. And, uh, I leaned across his desk and I said, so and so, this was at the time I had been in town for 10 years.
01:43I said, I said, out of the 10 years that I've been in Nashville, you telling me that don't mean shit.
01:50I just told, and if anything, I'm appreciative of moments like that because it did light another fire underneath me.
02:00And, um, after I left there, I was like, okay, at the end of the day, like, you put yourself out there.
02:05Not everybody's going to like you or love you. And I'm learning that even with that people pleasing in me.
02:10Yeah. Um, but yeah, I think it, I think moments like that, they're not fun, but if anything, they, they do build character and they give you fun stories to talk about with Tricia Yearwood.
