00:00hi it's DHA's rock and rough and I am Terry Carr I'm here with my friend Jim
00:06from Sedona Shepherd Sanctuary this dog is fantastic now of course when we have
00:12our friends from Sedona here it's all about the Shepherds and Shepherds are a
00:16very unique type of dog he's a Dutch Shepherd young guy a lot of energy and
00:23man you will see in our video piece how super smart striker is Jim tell us a
00:29little bit about this dog he's pretty incredible sure striker is about two and
00:32a half years old he's a Dutch Shepherd so from an energy level it's somewhere
00:36between a German Shepherd and a Belgian Malinois despite that really good
00:41energy level he also will relax and settle in a house he loves people he loves to
00:46play he loves he's got a really strong ball drive and he loves to search we've
00:50been doing a little bit of scent work with him as well and he's great with that so
00:55anybody that wants a lot of wants to do some competition with them yeah he's
00:59ready to go this is what I love to like he came in and we did like some little
01:04cheese hiding you'll probably see it in our video piece and this dog is so smart
01:10and that's what happens sometimes with our working breeds you know you know with
01:15the Malinois type Shepherds everybody wants one because they were in a movie and
01:20then you get them home and they have a lot of energy so if you're an energetic
01:22family he seems to do well in a family atmosphere right Jim yeah foster home on
01:28the weekends and he's he's able to settle down so go for like an hour walk or an
01:32hour sort of walk and run and then just come in and hang out with with a foster
01:36home he's really a great dog he's got a dynamite personality walked in here with
01:41his awesome positive energy tail wagging he's ready to go he sees toys he sees
01:46treats he sees lots going on here let's check out striker interacting with our

01:56meet striker a striking two and a half year old Dutch Shepherd who is so friendly very energetic
02:03super smart and just loves to work striker loves to do nose work he can find just about anything he
02:10knows basic commands and like most Shepherds is a people pleaser and bonds very quickly to his human
02:16strikers also very gentle and does really well when he's able to spend time in his foster home he's an
02:23energetic dog but settles down really nicely and would love his own home and his own human to call

03:04family dogs definitely I can see uh totally bonding with Jim here he really loves you a lot
