00:00We know the hard work and sacrifice they go through serving our community and keeping us safe.
00:06Let's honor another First Responder on 99.5 QYK.
00:11It is First Responder Friday right now. We have Pamela on the phone.
00:14Good morning, Pamela. How are you?
00:16Good morning. Hi, how are you?
00:17We are great. So we want to talk about your daughter, Heather, for First Responder Friday.
00:22Tell us how she serves our community.
00:23She serves our community here in Pasco County as a paramedic in Station House No. 10 in Hudson, Florida.
00:31And how long has she been doing that?
00:33She's been stationed at that one over there just recently, but she is a paramedic for Pasco County for just over a year.
00:40She's worked for Sunstar and for Manatee for years before that.
00:43How did you feel when she told you that that's what she was going to do with her life?
00:47I've always strived to teach her to do what you feel you are good at, what you want to do, what you can make a difference in life.
00:55And her biggest quote that she always says, that it's a beautiful day to save a life.
00:59Oh, wow.
01:00That's why she totally enjoys doing this job field. It's like amazing for her.
01:05That's great.
01:05I'm sure your mom is praying for her a lot when she goes to work every day.
01:09Yes, I do.
01:10Now, let me ask you this about Heather, Pamela.
01:13Does she have any aspirations to further her career even more in this field?
01:17Yes, she does. I'm not quite sure which direction.
01:20I know she just applied for something new and she got accepted, so it's still on the back burner.
01:24So I'm not quite sure on how that's going, but she definitely, I feel she's going to pursue more in this career.
01:30She's got some drive, no doubt about it.
01:31She's got some drive. Dead girl's got a drive.
01:33All right, very nice. What does she like to do when she's not working?
01:36Well, she's a mom, a newbie mom. He is just, I think, eight months.
01:41Oh, wow.
01:41On the December 20th. And she's, you know, newly married, too, just over a year on that.
01:48She enjoys doing it. Family to her is everything. Like I said, she worked in Manatee, and from
01:53Manatee, she came back up this way with a cut in pay because she wanted to be close to family.
01:57Wow.
01:58And she volunteers at the Angeles House here in Hudson, Florida.
02:01Oh, wow.
02:02Where they have disabled adults that are wheelchair-bound, so she takes care of them voluntarily on her free time.
02:08She's a great person.
02:09Free time.
02:10Very awesome to learn about someone like Heather.
02:12Well, we want to do this, Pamela. We want to do this and give you $200 on Visa gift cards.
02:17One's from our friends at Crown Buick GMC. The other one's from our friends at Demesman and Dover Law Firm.
02:22Pass this along to Heather for us, so maybe her and the family can go do something fun.
02:25Well, that would be amazing. She loves it. She's an outdoor person, though, and the baby's pretty much outdoors all day.
02:30All right. This is great.
02:32She's like, yeah.
02:32Well, we appreciate you so much, Pamela, and please pass our love on to Heather.
02:36I sure will, and thank you so much. I love listening to your show.
02:39We appreciate you.
02:40Well, if you want to nominate someone for First Responder Friday or Military Monday, you just go to 99.5QIK.com.
