Another day well spent at Karma Cat Zen Dog Rescue Society!   The staff talked with Debbie Mazella about upcoming fundraisers, including Nick Grisi's "Cycling For Kitties" and merch events.   Plus, if you've got some extra time this summer, KCZD would be happy to have your "paws" at the rescue, or if you prefer WFH, there's volunteer opportunities for you as well!

00:00Hey, thanks so much for watching our brand new Kitty Corner video here at Magic983.com.
00:09I'm Debbie Mazzella, of course, at Karmicad Zen Dog Rescue Society in Milltown,
00:13coming off a fantastic Pause for Celebration event where they raised over $5,000 for the
00:19Rescue and the MAC Center here in Milltown. We got more upcoming events to tell you about,
00:25starting with one of my favorite events, which is going to be August 19th, the Wine Tasting.
00:29They do this every year, and it is so much fun. And also, don't forget August 25th to 27th,
00:35the National Clear the Shelters event, and we get involved with Karmicad over that as well.
00:40One event I want to mention to you is there's a special volunteer and a really special guy named
00:45Nick Grissy, and he, every year, does a GoFundMe for Karmicad, and he rides across the country on
00:52his bike. He posts all his adventures. We will have the info here on the Kitty Corner page,
00:57so you can check it out. And that's another way that you can make a donation and support
01:01your local rescue in Milltown. We got lots to cover on this video today and lots of adorable
01:07adoptables. So I'm going to turn it over to Lauren Sieber, and she is going to tell you what is
01:11coming up and what's happening here at Karmicad. Thanks, Debbie. One really important thing to note
01:16is we have new adoption hours. They started at the beginning of June. Our weekend adoption hours are
01:22now Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., and our evening adoption hours during the week on
01:28Wednesday and Friday are remaining from 5 to 7 p.m. So again, stop by the adoption center
01:34Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 4, and Wednesday and Friday evenings from 5 to 7. While you're here
01:40visiting our adoption center, you can see we have our sponsored townhouses and apartments.
01:45There is an easy way to sign up for that on the website. You can have your very own sponsored
01:51townhouse or apartment. It's a monthly donation, and you will get your name on the enclosure for
01:56the animals. So very exciting way to participate and help keep these kitties clean and fed and
02:02everything else good until they get adopted. And like I said, we got so much to talk about here
02:07on our latest video, including how you can help out Karmicad, whether in person or behind the scenes.
02:13And we're going to turn it over to Janine, and she's going to tell you all about it.
02:17Thanks, Debbie. So there are so many different ways that you can volunteer if you have some extra time
02:22with summer coming up. A lot of people might be off. You might think about coming into our adoption
02:28center to help clean. We always need people to help clean and take care of the cats. So that's
02:35something that's in person here at the adoption center. But if you prefer to do something at home or
02:41maybe like work remotely, some people don't want to leave their house. I don't. If I was a cat,
02:47I wouldn't leave my house either. Exactly. So then we always need people to help out with our social
02:52media and to help schedule the posts and plan our posts or maybe do grant writing if that's your
02:58specialty to help out with event planning like our wine tasting or the clear the shelters event to be
03:07part of our fundraising and development team. Or if you love to craft, we've got a whole crafting team
03:13that makes amazing like merchandise and craft goodies for us. Or they also go to events that are like
03:22around different places over the summer so you can help volunteer at the event. And of course, one of
03:27the best ways to volunteer is to be a foster. We have so many kittens right now. So you can be a kitten
03:34foster or an adult cat. So we'll help you find the right cat for you to foster. Or if you decide you
03:42want to adopt it, that's always an option. So like Janine said, so many ways that you can help out Karma Cat.
03:49And you know, she was talking about so many kittens and so many cats that need homes. And if you ever scroll
03:54through the socials on the Karma Cat page, and you see some of the photos, they're taken by Gina, who comes
04:01in twice a week to socialize with the cats. And she is the perfect p-u-r-r-f-e-c-t person to tell you
04:09all about the latest adoptables. So we're going to turn it over to Gina for that. Thanks, Debbie. So our
04:15current featured adoptables include Harlow, who is a six-year-old black and white female, super sweet, super
04:23chill, would do great in pretty much any home. We have Mandu, who is 11 years old, and he's a smushy
04:31orange male. We also have Sam Adams, who is a white and black cow kitty. And he's actually chilling here
04:39at the adoption center. He's not a big fan of other cats. So if you're looking for a one and only cat,
04:45Sam will absolutely fill your life with love and crack you up and make you laugh every day, especially when
04:51he rolls over on his back and flirts with you. And our last featured adoptable is Theo. He's one and a
04:58half years old, gray and white tabby, very, very handsome boy. And he also would prefer to be your
05:05one and only love. So if you're looking for a single cat, Sam Adams or Theo would definitely be your man.
05:12And in addition, as you can see, we also have lots and lots of adorable adoptable kittens.
05:19One might fit in my pocket on the way home.
05:21So if you're looking for something more in the kitten variety of cat, we have plenty of them. Take
05:33home one, take home two. They're small. They fit in your pocket.
05:39And we have plenty more in foster if you're interested in meeting any of them.
05:44I have to tell you, we've been doing these videos for a couple of years now,
05:47and this little segment has been the most fun today. So if you are interested in any of the
05:53kittens or the cats that you see on the video today, or you want to learn more about the volunteer
05:57opportunities, by all means, you can just click the link in the video. And also don't forget where
06:02you're going to have the info about Nick Grissy's GoFundMe and his ride across the country on his bike,
06:07where he camps out in various places. And we'll have all that info here. Thank you so much for
06:12watching. Thank you for supporting Karmacad Zen Dog Rescue Society. And we will catch you next month.
06:16I am going to go play with some kittens.
06:32We'll grab one because they're kind of running around like crazies right now.
06:50I am watching Karmacad Zen Dog Rescue Society.
06:54I am going to go play with some animals from the country to the country.
06:57My take care for me to watch the country.
06:59I am going to go play with some boots that I have not quite a little bit of a story that I know.
07:02I am going to be riding around like mage.
07:04So, I don't know if you have any other people.
07:07You can see that if you don't see them today.
07:09I am going to watch the beach and I will be riding around like mangengs right now.
07:13I am going to go play with some Hasselme that I am going to get away from the beach of the beach.
07:15Now, I have I will have to go watch the beach like this, but I am going to go next.
07:17So, this is a brand new thing that I am going to be doing here.
