00:00All right, I'm Amber Quinn. I live in Northeast Minneapolis and I don't really want to speak this into existence, but a lot of my co-workers, one of my friends when we did the discussion, are really worried about the noises Trump has made about going for a third term and joking about it.
00:24So, I don't want to say that. I don't want him to normalize it, but what I want to ask, and this is maybe for the locals as well, it turns our chance for us to take some power back.
00:35Thank you so much.
00:36And hopefully, there are other areas to start that work even now.
00:41So, my expectation for where the cuts would be, support programs like 3.0 would probably be first on the chopping block.
00:59They've already got rid of the Department of Civil Rights within the Education Department.
01:08And we know that, you know, people who have grievances, whether they have disabilities or race, gender, have no one to call or contact in some of their cases, even if they were closing.
01:25Now, you know, they're basically gone and they're going back to the drawing board and they're having to see what they can do with their state's Department of Education.
01:35So, again, it is a speculation, but I don't know where you find $230 billion in cuts without cutting a lot of education funding.
01:47And so, we shall see.
01:49I mean, obviously, we are going to put up a hell of a fight.
01:54You know, they have vulnerable Republicans.
01:59We're going to make sure that they are on the record, that there is not going to be a way to hide in the dark of the night to pass this legislation without us taking the time to publicly explain to the American people what is being cut, how it is going to impact them, and what it means.
02:23So, you know, I sit on the budget committee, we put on a fight there, but it was just the resolution.
02:32Now, the language of the bill will be in there because we just passed the numbers.
02:36So, once we see, because they keep saying, we're not cutting Medicaid, we're not cutting, you know, veteran support, we're not, that's their talking point, right?
02:46We're not coming for your Social Security.
02:49Well, $880 billion is a lot of money.
02:53So, where are you going to find that if you're not cutting Medicaid?
02:55I have $230 billion is a lot.
03:00For our farmers who get support for SNAP programs, if A, they want to cut $230 there as well, or $220, it has to impact real things that will then obviously have an impact on our lives and the lives of folks that we love.
03:19And so, you know, we're going to try to make sure that folks understand.
