00:00I tried to sort of like fight doing this. I don't like doing this. It's not accurate. It's not probably the right thing to do, but I couldn't help myself because, as you and I have always promised, authenticity, and this is how I feel, Rockets are cooked.
00:24You had to have that game. I really, really do believe that they had to have that game, and so I could end up being wrong, but there's just too many clues. They're just not ready. They don't have enough shot makers, and if there was any single solitary way for them to beat the Golden State Warriors four times, you had to get the first one. You did.
00:51Like, think about what their assignment is now. I know we go, oh, it's only one game. Well, four, right. Win four or five. Right. Right. Well, I mean, four or six. Yeah. Four or six. But you're going to beat the Golden State Warriors four times out of six basketball games, which means, at minimum, you need to do one on their home floor, and if you only win one on their home floor, you're going to have to do this in seven games.
01:21So, they're going to be coming off of at least one day off, if not two, every single time. Your top players are all 22, and you do not have anyone who you can give the ball to on the perimeter and say, go get me a bucket. We need a bucket.
01:37I'm not trying to be all Bay Area snooty. I just don't see it. I don't see it.
01:47I don't either, and I said it in our group chat yesterday, our group thread, that I don't think the Rockets can score enough to beat the Warriors. So, if you're going to play a game like that, a game that is less than 100, no team got to 100, that's a game that Houston absolutely has to win.
02:05And you go back to the game that they beat the Warriors. I think it was in the in-season tournament, the NBA Cup, where you had that late, funky call, and Houston won a game. Both teams were in the 90s.
02:17That's the way that Houston's going to win. So, you had a game where neither team got to 100 points, and you lost.
02:24And if you want to look at the Warriors' history in the playoffs, there aren't a ton of games where the Warriors don't get to 100 points.
02:31And I believe, and I ran these numbers earlier today, when the Warriors don't get to 100 in the Steph Curry era, I think they're 8-22.
02:40So, they've won games before, but a lot of those wins are back when, you know, 95 points was pretty good early in Steph's career.
02:48Last year, the Warriors didn't get to 90 twice, or didn't get to 100 twice. They lost both those games.
02:53So, the fact that the Warriors didn't get 101 is really out of the norm, and that leads to your point of, like, that's the game, that's the style of game that Houston has to win.
03:05If Houston's going to win, it's going to be 95-85, right?
03:08Totally, totally. Although, I think the Warriors, you're right, the NBA Cup game was 91-90. The Rockets won that.
03:16I know in the first trip to Houston, the Warriors scored a bunch of points and won that game, and it ended up in overtime.
03:22So, the score was really high.
03:24That was the Kaminga game.
03:25Yeah. But, I'm trying, like, I believe that the Warriors can beat this particular team with a 95, a 96, a 97.
03:36I don't want them doing 85, but I think 95 or more is going to win a lot of games against this team,
03:43because, A, they're not great offensively, and, B, it does slow down a little bit in the playoffs.
03:48It gets a little bit more deliberate, especially in the second half.
03:52But, I mean, we knew, I felt I did, when it was 21-18, was that the score at the end of one quarter?
03:5921-18? I'm like, nobody's scoring 100 tonight.
04:03Like, you can just see, you can see the pace of this game, you can see the physicality of it.
04:08Boy, I was glad that the Warriors were ready for the physicality.
04:13I was like, I mean, not to keep talking about other teams, I don't know if you saw the quote from J.J. Redick.
04:20I was like, tell me you're a rookie coach without telling me you're a rookie coach.
04:24A, you weren't ready for the T-Wolves' physicality, and B, you said that into a microphone after the game?
04:30Uh-oh.
04:31Are you crazy?
04:33Wow.
04:33Yeah.
04:34You went to the playoffs and you weren't ready for the physicality?
04:37And you've got a 22-year vet and maybe the greatest player of all time, and he couldn't have told you as a coach or the other fellas,
04:47hey, Minnesota's a big and pretty physical team, let's be ready for the physicality.
04:51My God, here's Jimmy Butler on last night's physicality in this series.
04:54They're an incredible team, definitely a physical one.
04:58But I would like to think that we don't back down from any challenge anyways, and we met brute force with brute force,
05:04maybe a little bit of finesse in there as well, but I think we handled their pressure incredibly well,
05:09knowing that coming out the next game is probably going to be two to three times even more physical.
05:13Yeah, I mean, I'm sure the Rockets, I don't know how many other answers they've got.
05:18So, they can try.
05:20They can try to push, shove, and hope that they don't get a really conservative whistle.
05:26They can try, and I'm sure they will.
05:28I'm sure they will.
05:28Like, they'll try to break the Warriors' mentality, but not a good spot for them to be at all.
05:36No, and that's the way I think that Houston needs to win.
05:40To your point, though, the first matchup, the Warriors won 99-93.
05:44No Steph Curry.
05:45That was here, a game that neither team got to 100, and the Warriors won.
05:49And, you know, you mentioned the 105-98 game.
05:54They actually beat Houston in overtime.
05:55You mentioned 127-121.
05:58They lost to Houston 106-96.
06:01And, you know, that for me is the kind of game that Houston needs.
06:04They need a game where you contain Steph and you keep it down in the high 90s or low 100s.
06:10888-957-9570.
06:12How about Danny in the city?
06:14Hi, Danny.
06:14Thanks for calling.
06:17Hey, good to hear you guys.
06:18Great win.
06:19Big Warriors fan.
06:21Can you hear me?
06:22We got you.
06:23Yeah.
06:23Okay, so I think you guys are making too much out of one win.
06:29I think Houston has their three best scorers, have horrible shooting nights.
06:35I think they're going to all shoot better.
06:37And the Warriors got completely dominated on the boards, which I think they're going to continue to be dominated on the boards.
06:44So I think Houston shoots a little bit more than normal, and the Warriors are in trouble.
06:50That's my take.
06:50Okay.
06:51Danny, can I ask you, who are the Rockets' three best shooters?
06:57I care.
06:58What's Fred's last name, the three-point shooter?
07:01Yeah, Fred Van Vliet.
07:02He went two for 13.
07:03Fred Van Vliet.
07:04I think Jalen Green, who is their third best scorer?
07:11I mean, there's three guys that had bad games.
07:13Do you want to know what Fred Van Vliet shot as far as three-point percentage for the year this year?
07:21Yeah.
07:21Yeah, 34.5%.
07:23He stinks, Danny.
07:25I'm sorry.
07:25Like, I get it.
07:26He's highly priced.
07:27He's a champion.
07:28All of that.
07:29Is he going to be two for 13?
07:31Might he have a night?
07:33And, Danny, thank you very much.
07:34Really appreciate the call.
07:36I'm not trying to waltz in here and be cocky Charlie.
07:40That's not what I'm trying to do.
07:42I'm just telling you how I feel and what I see.
07:45And the Rockets, that's why I asked you, who are their three best shooters?
07:48They don't have any good shooters.
07:50Dylan Brooks is their best shooter.
07:53I want everybody to let that sink in.
07:57Dylan Brooks is their best shooter.
08:00So, all I can do is share with you how I feel in this moment and be totally willing to be wrong.
08:06I think the Rockets are cooked.
08:08I don't see it.
08:09They don't have what they need to win this series.
08:14Consistently enough, I agree.
08:15They can win a game.
08:17They can win two games.
08:18And I predicted that it would be Warriors in six.
08:21And if you want to think about, you know, Fred and Jalen having better games, good games, it could happen on Wednesday.
08:28And they can beat the Warriors.
08:30They can beat the Warriors once, twice.
08:32Of course.
08:33Three times, I think, would be a stretch.
08:34And four times, I don't know if they can do that, four out of six.
08:37That would be a stunning upset at this point.
