00:26taking you back to Madison Square Garden, in New York City, the date, March 31, 1985,
00:33and the greatest happening in the long and illustrious history of professional wrestling.
00:37It's known as WrestleMania.
00:40WrestleMania showcased the world's finest athletes in the world's most entertaining sport.
00:45And here, in a special edition, collector's cassette, Coliseum Video, brings you the highlights of this extraordinary event.
00:52We're going to get into the program almost immediately, but let me run down very quickly the lineup of truly historical moments.
01:00The Junkyard Dog challenges Greg the Hammer Valentine for the Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship.
01:05Tito Santana will meet the Executioner.
01:08Ricky the Dragon Steamboat to square off against Matt Bourne.
01:11And Wendy Richter faces Leilani Kai for the WWF Women's Championship.
01:16And then from there, the World's Tag Team title up for grabs the champions, Windham and Rotundo,
01:21to meet challengers Nikolai Volkov and the Iron Sheik.
01:25And S.D. Jones squares off against a moving mountain, King Kong Bundy.
01:30And from there, Big John Studd versus Andre the Giant in the $15,000 Body Slam Challenge.
01:38And finally, a main event to top them all, shown in its entirety,
01:42Rowdy Roddy Piper, teamed with Paul, Mr. Wonderful Orndorff,
01:46to meet Champion Hulk Hogan and Mr. T.
01:49Here we go.
01:51Nice arm twister here by the dog.
01:53Valentine's dropped about 12 or 15 pounds, looks like this.
01:56Well, the Hammer looks terrific.
01:57He looks in the best shape I've ever seen him in.
01:59And the JYD just threw a hard right hand in there.

05:21When Greg the Hammer senses an opponent is hurt,
05:24there's nobody any tougher at dishing out punishment than Greg the Hammer Valentine.

18:53So the wrestling fans of the world may be, just maybe, getting their last look at Andre the Giant as a professional wrestler.

21:15And I'm sure as well, Justin, around the world, the rest of the million plus are chanting for the big guy who just got his eyes raked there, but not enough to break that bear hug.

21:27Just keep squeezing until a man can't expand his chest anymore.

21:35He's using a slow process in an attempt to wear John Studd down here.

21:47Andre just slapping on that bear hug and holding on.
21:52And Bobby, the brain, worried, pacing up and down at ringside.
21:57His man is in trouble and at 15,000 is on the line.
22:02But more important in my eyes is the career of Andre the Giant is also on the line.

22:08If Andre the Giant fails to slam John Studd, he retires.
22:12All the fans, this could be the last time they will ever see Andre the Giant in a pair of wrestling trunks again.
22:18What a sorry situation that would be.
22:20Well, he was willing to bet it.
22:22That's what it took to get the match.
22:24Well, Andre, not common knowledge, but Andre has the biggest heart of anyone in professional wrestling, in my opinion, and in the opinion of a lot of people.
22:33And you're going to have to literally destroy this individual in order for him to terminate his career.
22:40But if he don't slam him, Gino, it's all riding on that.
22:44That ridiculous betta made by Andre the Giant.

23:52Andre letting go of those knife edges, taking their toll as Big John Studd doesn't want to come out of the corner.
23:58Well, I'll tell you what, the referee is definitely not getting much of an involvement in this match.
24:02He's basically letting both of them go at it.
