Heavy rain persisting across the country, especially in the southwest, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. This will push northwards through the night, with a few showers also spreading into southern England. In the east, remaining much drier with cloud further inland. Rain persisting overnight, but it should ease off for Wales and the southwest tomorrow. Temperatures around average, but a fresh coastal breeze for North Sea coasts. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 17/04/2025. 00:00Hello there, a very good evening to you. I hope you've been able to enjoy this first
00:04day of the long weekend, even if some of us may well have been stuck inside throughout.
00:09We currently have yellow rain warnings enforced across western areas of the UK, particularly
00:13for past the south-west England, the Banar Blacheniog in Wales, and the Moorne and Antrim
00:18mountains for Northern Ireland. We'll be seeing quite a lot of rainfall over the next 24 hours,
00:23so it is worth taking care and being wary if you are travelling about in any of these
00:28regions. Some very heavy pulses of rain will be continuing throughout this evening and
00:33overnight, generally spreading their way northwards, so certainly not ruling out some of that into
00:37north-western England, western areas of Scotland turning fairly damp as well. There may be the
00:42odd spot that manages to spread its way a little bit further eastwards, but generally the further
00:46east that you get it will be a drier night overall. For most of us though, it's going to be windy
00:50and also fairly mild, temperatures holding up between 6 and 10 degrees Celsius in our
00:55towns and cities. As we move throughout Saturday though, we end up with a bit of an east-west
01:01split in conditions. It's going to remain wettest across Northern Ireland and parts of
01:06north-western Scotland where that rain really will continue right throughout the day. It should
01:10be an improving picture for Wales and south-west England. Into the afternoon, the rain will ease
01:14off here and things should turn drier with some brighter skies arriving, but the best of any
01:19sunshine will be out towards the east of Scotland and England. Temperatures around average for the time of
01:24year, peaking roughly around 15 degrees Celsius. But with quite a keen breeze still coming in off the
01:30north sea, it is going to be feeling quite cool in places, particularly directly along those coastal
01:35areas where you are exposed to that wind. This area of rain in the north-west and its weather front
01:41associated with it will be lingering into the first part of Easter Sunday, but eventually it should ease
01:46its way off. But we have another system just moving into the far south-east of England, so some
01:51showery outbreaks of rain will be spreading into south-east and England as we head throughout the
01:55day. For most other areas in between those two systems though, Easter Sunday is looking like a
02:01very fine and pleasant day overall. Some decent spells of sunshine in there and generally lighter
02:06winds overall as well will make it feel a bit more pleasant. Still a bit of a breeze around some of
02:10these coastal districts nonetheless. Temperatures perhaps a bit more widely now, arriving towards that 15-16
02:17degrees Celsius mark. We may even touch a little bit higher than that in a few spots as well. So if you
02:21do manage to catch that sunshine, it should be feeling pleasantly warm. The brolleys though do need to stay
02:28on hand because as we head into Easter Monday, the showers will be turning more widely, particularly
02:33for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. They could be heavy in places. It's looking like Scotland on Easter
02:38Monday will be the driest of the nations with the best of any of that sunshine still making its way
02:43through. We'll have plenty more updates of what you can expect though over the next few days so do
02:47subscribe to the YouTube channel for those and we'll see you again here later on. Bye bye.
