A band of rain continues to linger over Wales and down into southwestern England, this turning heavy in places. Elsewhere it is generally cloudy, with outbreaks of rain pushing northwards across eastern England and Scotland, this starting to ease. A few brighter breaks are expected across southeastern England, western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Feeling cool under the cloud and rain, warm across central and southeastern England. - This is your Met Office UK weather forecast for 15/04/2025. 00:00Hello there, welcome to your Tuesday evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:04Unsettled across the country through the next 24 hours, with rain warnings in force across Wales and the west country.
00:10Another one kicks in across Northern Ireland through the early hours of Wednesday morning.
00:13All courtesy of a complex area of low pressure, which has quite a squeeze as we head into tomorrow.
00:19So some strong winds, the air is cool across the country.
00:23Quieter weather then arriving towards more southern areas, but still some showers in the mix.
00:27Low pressure never too far away.
00:30Just heading northwards through Thursday.
00:32For the time being, watch out for some surface water issues with this heavy rain across Wales and the west country.
00:36Showers continue, but they will tend to fade away.
00:39But we have seen some thunder and lightning associated with them as this wet weather extends and moves around towards Northern Ireland,
00:45South West Scotland, as well as southern parts of Scotland and North of England.
00:49So you can see that swirl of winds.
00:51So some high waves as we head into tomorrow across Irish and Channel Coast.
00:55And the winds will be a feature further north as well.
00:57This rain warning continues across Wales and the west country through the morning.
01:01We hang on to that rain warning across much of Northern Ireland through the afternoon.
01:06So some heavy pulses of rain to come here as the rain extends towards much of Scotland.
01:10Showery here, the far northwest, seeing some fine weather with some sunshine.
01:14And the sun will come out across the Midlands, southern parts of Wales, southwards.
01:18But some showers just moving in across the far southwest.
01:21Temperatures 15 to 17 in the sunshine further southeast.
01:25But look at this, really struggling 9, 10, 11 across the cloudy skies in the north with that rain.
01:30So through Wednesday evening, that wet weather continues, the strong winds also.
01:36We'll see some clearer skies further south and east.
01:39Some showers move in across Wales, the Severn Estuary towards the Midlands.
01:44And that showery rain continues into Thursday morning across much of Scotland and Clipping, Northern Ireland.
01:49But for many, it's a better day.
01:52Certainly some sunshine coming through as that rain becomes more showery and persistent across the highlands.
01:58Temperatures then again around 13 to 15 degrees Celsius.
02:01Showers will be in the mix, particularly in the north on Thursday.
02:05Further south, there will be some brighter skies, but a mix of clouds and sunshine further west.
02:10I'll see you later.
