Shah Galoon Hayat comes from an underprivileged family and was born with an intellectual disability. But these challenges didn't stop her winning a medal at the Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 in Italy. This is her story.

00:00The first time I went to the airport, I was a son of 37 years old, but I was a son of 37 years old, and I went to the airport.

01:06Because their speech is very low, they are talking about one word.
01:10They are doing understanding, but they can't describe it in detail or in sentences.
01:16We provide a platform for the parents, for the children where they can go and they can learn about not only the disability,
01:45their challenges, but their strengths also.
01:48That's a big achievement for us that a girl child from this underprivileged background from this locality went to Italy.
01:58And her parents encouraged her because girls are not encouraged to even go to school in very underprivileged areas.
