A total of 506 foreigners were detained during an immigration raid at a business premises in Medan Imbi, Kuala Lumpur, on Thursday (April 17).

00:26The operation, which began around 7.30 p.m., was led by the Putrajaya Immigration Department,

00:41A total of 895 individuals, including locals, were screened.
00:47This is not the first time Madan Imbi has come under scrutiny, with a similar raid conducted
00:52on February.
00:53Zakaria explained that the raid focused on an area popular among foreigners for rental
00:59housing.
01:00Shop houses there had been subdivided into small rooms, some accommodating up to 30
01:05people in spaces meant for only four to five, with monthly rents around 600 ringgit.
01:12Those detained, aged between 25 and 65, were mainly from Bangladesh, Nepal, and Indonesia.
01:19They will be sent to the Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot for further investigation.
