00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this cloudy and chilly Thursday
00:05morning. There will be some sunshine around but at the same time some pockets
00:08of frost as well. Let me take you through the bigger picture. High pressure sits
00:11towards the low countries further north and northwest towards the northwest of
00:15the UK. Low pressure systems track here bringing stronger winds from time to
00:19time for Scotland, also Northern Ireland. Strongest winds always towards the north
00:23as well as the west where we'll always see the chance of clouds and even some
00:27outbreaks of rain. Further south it's quiet conditions, not a lot of movement
00:31in our air and that means the clouds today is likely to be stubborn
00:35particularly across more central and eastern areas. Some hazy sunshine once
00:39the Sun rises across eastern areas of Scotland. More cloud for Northern Ireland
00:44yesterday. Western parts of Scotland seeing cloud but dry conditions. You can
00:48see where these clearer skies are, so a cold start for Northern England, the
00:51North Midlands as well as Wales and again with some pockets of frost. Low
00:55cloud and also some patches of fog to start the day further south and east and
01:00this fog will be slow to clear. The winds remain fairly light and it is a chilly
01:05morning. So three types of weather. We've got the stronger winds towards Western
01:09Scotland. We could see a little bit of patchy rain here later where the clouds
01:13thick enough. Clearer skies across Northern England, Wales, even eastern
01:16Scotland seeing some hazy sunshine. More cloud further west and cloudier
01:20conditions anywhere from the Midlands, south eastwards down towards the west
01:24country. Although we could see some breaks occurring as we head through the
01:27day. Most places will be dry through the morning into the afternoon. Temperatures
01:31will struggle and certainly those winds continue with some strength across
01:36Western Scotland as well as Northern Ireland through the afternoon. So here
01:40are your temperatures then. Six or seven across the central sway of the country.
01:44Nine towards the northwest of Scotland as well as the southeast of England. Now
01:49through this evening and overnight not a lot of change. However cloud will
01:53gradually sink southwards across Northern England covering Wales as this
01:58batch of cloud moves northwards. So it will be a cloudier end to the night and
02:02notice towards Western Scotland. Here we're seeing some outbreaks of rain. The
02:07rain could be a bit more persistent into the early hours of Friday morning and
02:10also a stronger wind here. Certainly windier conditions across the north of
02:14Scotland as well. And so as we enter Friday morning some patchy rain which
02:19could be again just coming and going but persistent for a time across the
02:23highlands of Scotland. Perhaps extending down towards the central belt. Spits and
02:26spots here. Cloud could break across Northern Ireland as we head through the
02:30afternoon but that stubborn cloud elsewhere. And look at these temperatures
02:33struggling. Six or seven degrees Celsius but eleven towards the west of Scotland.
02:38So a mild day. Chilly all round on Saturday and yet again a lot of
02:43persistent cloud here. Where the clouds thick enough the odd spot or two of rain.
02:47Some breaks allowing for some brighter weather to come through from time to
02:51time. Particularly across the central slice of the country. I'll see you later.
