00:00Thank you so much for being here. We really appreciate it. Thanks for having me. I'm really happy to be here with everyone. Now before you came up on stage, we actually had a talent show. And a lot of all of our beautiful ladies and young gentlemen out here, they want to be just like you one day. So let's start the very beginning. How did you become this wonderful actor, musician? How did it all start? Would it start with the help of your family? Did you specifically tell them exactly what you wanted to do?
00:30Pretty much one single person. That guy right there, my dad, he was in the business his whole life. And when I was born, he was like, all right, this is the only thing I know how to teach him and I'm going to teach him it. And from a young age, I was playing guitar and doing things to help contribute to when I would officially, I started officially like auditioning for roles when I was eight years old. But I never did like theater or anything like that. I was just like.
00:59Did he teach you how to play guitar or did you take professional lessons?
01:03He would, he didn't know how to play guitar, but he bought me all my guitars. He got me all my lessons. Like all that, like really helped me stay on top of it when I didn't want to do it at all. I was just like wanting to go outside and play or do something else. He stayed on top of me to like help me.
01:18So he set up all of your auditions and of course made you go to school at the same time. It can be hard to juggle education and also auditions. How do you deal with that on a daily basis?
01:29Yeah. I, um, I recently, uh, took, uh, California's equivalent of the GED. Okay. Um, so I'm now out of school.
01:38All right. Did everybody hear that? He is officially a high school graduate now.
01:43I'm a high school graduate.
01:44That's a big deal. And now you're just traveling everywhere. And I heard that you have a few movies you're working on. So tell me about that.
01:52So yeah, currently, um, I'm working, uh, I was doing a Nickelodeon show over the summer, uh, called Camp Nick. Uh, it was a summer special.
02:01And then, uh, I'm also, uh, I was simultaneously while filming that shooting a show, uh, for a network called Brat, uh, Brat TV.
02:10And then, uh, I leave August 18th to go shoot a movie. Um,
02:16Can you tell us at all about the movie at the title, what you'll be doing?
02:20I don't know how much I can say. Okay. We'll keep it in the room. So don't tell anybody. Okay.
02:26I say, uh, I'll say it's an untitled Adam Sandler movie.
02:33Adam Sandler. I just watched his new movie with Jennifer Aniston on Netflix. And speaking of Netflix, you're all over the place on Netflix now.
02:42Yeah, this will be my, uh, the Adam Sandler project will be my third Netflix project that I've worked on.
02:47Netflix is, I mean, obviously it's, it's not new at all, but it's so great that you can have different areas that you can grow movies, TV.
02:58Um, and also of course, you're a musician. You were just up on stage doing some fantastic guitar work.
03:04And I mean, I could just go on and on about that. So what's next for you music wise?
03:10Um, for music, I feel like it's, uh, it's always constant, like constantly changing and your tastes and like what you're into and playing and all that constantly change.
03:21But for me, like the love only gets stronger for it. Um, so right now I'm just recording like singles, holding onto them, waiting to figure out when I want to actually like release them.
03:32Um, and, uh, and once I do, obviously everyone will be the first to know.
03:36I feel like you have been able to check off so many things on a checklist, you know, actor check filming an Adam Sandler movie.
03:44You're almost going to check that box pretty soon here.
03:48Is there anything else that you aspire one day you want to do?
03:53Cause you have so much going on right now, but I'm sure one day there's maybe one more thing.
03:57Do you want to be a wrestler? Like what else do you want to add to your list?
04:01I don't think I ever like settle for just like one thing.
04:04I think, um, I think I constantly pick up new hobbies and new interests.
04:10Uh, I mean, professionally as like a career, this will always be like what I want to do.
04:15Um, but I mean, I, I love like, I love boxing. I love like sports. I love all that.
04:20I'm never going to pursue like a professional career.
04:23Well, at least you could play one.
04:24But I can play one.
04:25On TV, right?
04:25Uh, and you know, uh, I also do YouTube and YouTube's creating a huge opportunity for like YouTube athletes and, and competitions.
04:33Uh, my friend Logan Paul, he's having, uh, a YouTube event, uh, for chat called the challenger games.
04:40It's like the YouTube Olympics.
04:41Um, and I'm partaking in that.
04:43So like, there's like a lot of, uh, there's like a lot of like events and opportunities to like do what you love, but also like do these other things that are really cool.
04:50Now, of course you're on Fuller House and did you ever watch the original show growing up?
04:57Um, did you binge watch it before you started on it?
05:00No. So funny story about Fuller House, the character Jackson, who plays DJ's son in the show, uh, I had originally gotten that role and I turned it down to go do another project.
05:12I was destroyed, but it was like, uh, my management made the decision.
05:16Okay.
05:16So I turned it down and, uh, at the time you had regret for turning it down?
05:22I, yeah.
05:23Okay.
05:24I was, I was very sad about having to turn it down, but my managers and there was another project at the time.
05:30It was a pilot and, uh, it involved music and stuff like that.
05:33And they thought it was a better career decision to go down that path, not instead of Fuller House.
05:38So we said no to Fuller House and, uh, I was destroyed because like I grew up watching Full House.
05:44Right. It's a big deal.
05:45Saved by the Bell, Full House. Like I loved those like 90 shows and like, um, I was destroyed and I'd go on after I shot that pilot to get a call from Jeff Franklin, creator of Full House.
05:59And he was telling me that he had created a role and he wanted me to play that character, which would go on for me.
06:04That was for you?
06:05So he wrote it for you.
06:06He wrote me a character because he loved my audition so much.
06:10Wow.
06:10Uh, that they would go on to change the character of Jackson and take what Jackson originally was and put it into what my character became, Bobby Popko.
06:19Uh, and I had a great time. I was being able to shoot Disney Channel while shooting Netflix and I was able to bounce back and forth and it was just amazing.
06:28And now you can fulfill both dreams. And of course, you just mentioned the Disney Channel. So how is it working on the other show, Stuck in the Middle? How is that?
06:38You know, Stuck in the Middle is, uh, I like to say like the greatest worst years of my life. It was amazing in every aspect that I gained a new family. Uh, it obviously gave me this huge career booster. Uh, it opened up a lot of doors and opportunities for me. Uh, it was a lot of work. It was seven, it was five days a week, 10 and a half hour days.
07:03How early do you have to wake up to shoot a Disney show like that?
07:07Most days I was up at about 6 a.m.
07:10And you're working all day.
07:11And I was work all day. Some nights I would get a call for 5 p.m. and I'd be working on set till like one or two.
07:18How's it working with the actors and the actresses? You said it's like a family, like a second family.
07:24It's, it's like family and it's like family in the same aspect that families fight.
07:29Yeah.
07:29So, uh, you know, when you're, when you're cooped up in a four, four wall stage, you know, uh, 10 hours a day and we sit in school rooms together. So the three youngest had their elementary school room and then the four oldest, we had our high school room.
07:46And you could imagine the drama. It was me with three teenage girls. And then it was two little boys with one little girl. And it was just constant arguing.
07:57There was never like a time where all seven of us were just completely getting along. Like one would be mad at the other. I would have to be like figuring it was like a real family.
08:06It was truly like real family drama and like really dumb arguments. And, but like looking back, it was like some of like the greatest years.
08:15Good memories to look back on. Well, like I said, there's a lot of young, beautiful young women and men here that not only look up to you, but maybe want to do what you do one day.
08:26So can you give everybody in the room right now, maybe a piece of advice, something that you can pass along to them?
08:34Um, I, I kind of stick to like three things. Uh, never let what anyone say get to you because the business is, uh, it's very challenging and it can be negative as well.
08:47It's very negative. You know, uh, if I, I've had the opportunity to do a lot of projects, but if you were to look at how many projects I've actually done,
08:56actually read for compared to the actual amount of projects I've done, not even close. I've had, I've been turned down so many times.
09:05So just keep on going.
09:06I've heard everything. I've heard, uh, not ethnic enough, too ethnic, too short, too tall, too old, too young.
09:15You hear every two in the book, um, before you finally get, you know, you're just right and you'll get far.
09:22You won't even get the opportunity. Like, it's just very challenging and you have to stay strong-minded and, and, like, keep looking forward.
09:31Follow your dreams.
09:32Follow your dreams is very corny, but it is truly, like, if that's what you want to do, you have to stay committed to the dream.
09:39And, like, for me, like, it's a very, don't take this the wrong way, because it's the positive way of not doing it.
09:46But, like, I don't care. You know what I mean? Like, if someone says to me, like, you're not good enough, I don't care what they say.
09:55You're just going to do you.
09:56I'm just going to stick to what I do and stay confident in myself and what I'm doing and knowing that I'm on the right path.
10:01That's great. A, follow your dreams, and B, don't listen to the negative comments, because, you know what?
10:07Everybody struggles, but if you keep doing it and all the hard work, it sounds like you can be just like this guy right over here, Isaac Presley.
10:15And you also have to get really good grades. That's the other thing.
10:19Oh, that's good. Stay in school.
10:20Make sure you do well in school, because you can't work if you don't get good grades.
10:23Well, that's very true. Well, thank you so much for stopping by. Everybody that wants to talk, take a picture, meet Mr. Isaac, it's going to be right over here, back in this area over here.
10:37Go ahead and line up. Thank you so much for coming, everybody, and thank you so much, Isaac Presley.
10:42Thank you, guys.
10:43Thanks for coming here. We really appreciate it. Let's give it up for Isaac Presley!
