00:00Today's both a happy and sad day at Portsmouth International Port.
00:04We've seen Normandy come in for her final arrival and departure today.
00:09She's been here a long time, since 1992,
00:12and she was one of the first luxury cruise ferries to come into Portsmouth.
00:17At the time when she first came in, she was so big that we actually had to close the harbour
00:21for other vessels to come in and out, which shows just how far the harbour's come in that time.
00:26We only sort of close the harbour now for the large aircraft carriers,
00:30and even the larger cruise ships now.
00:32We don't need to shut the harbour, so it just shows how revolutionary she was at the time.
00:38Normandy's been replaced by a new LNG hybrid vessel called the Gwilander Normandy,
00:43and she is a very clean, energy-efficient ship,
00:47and she'll be running in and out of Portsmouth emission-free
00:51and then switching to gas power when she gets outside of the harbour.
00:54So in terms of luxury and comfort for the passengers, it's going to be an amazing upgrade.
01:00And in terms of the residents and the local air pollution,
01:04we're going to see a reduction in emissions and an improvement in air quality.
01:09So it's really great news for everyone.
