00:00What inspires me most to make music is probably trauma. The things that I've gone through in
00:06life and I tend to write about it. It's interesting with Ordinary, so many people take different
00:10things away from the song. I think honestly it's just a love song. It's something really strong
00:15and I feel like with your partner you feel a certain way and I think a lot of people are
00:18resonating with that. Where I would fit in pop music today is really difficult to answer. I
00:22feel like pop music is so all over the board but I'm inspired by a lot of people. I'm inspired by
00:27Lewis Capaldi and Shawn Mendes and Adele and so many different people so I would hope
00:32that one day I'd be in that conversation. It's really cool to be an Odyssey launch
00:35artist. I think it's something where like growing up I would listen to the radio on
00:39my way to school and so many things and the fact is I can be that for other
00:42people going to school or to work and they get to hear these songs I wrote is
00:47really really sick. Ordinary means a lot to me. It's a song I feel like if I heard it
00:50from someone else I would have been like dang I wish I wrote that. I've listened to
00:53it so many times and I usually can't stand my voice so I love that song so
00:57much. The song Ordinary about my wife when we were 18 years old we slept in a
01:01car together and we're now 24 and married and you know I feel like that is
01:05something really rare to find in today's age and this generation especially I
01:09feel like struggles to find meaningful love and yeah I wrote about that. If someone
01:13wants to ask who I am I would probably tell them that Alex Warren is a musician who
01:18writes about things that have happened in his past.
