00:06Sai Xu San, after the front page of its newspaper this week depicted the Jalur Gemilang without the

00:12crescent moon. In a statement issued on its portal, the Chinese Language Daily's management said the

00:18decision was made based on the principle of accountability. It added that the suspension

00:23is effective immediately and will remain in place until a police investigation into the matter

00:27concludes. Earlier, Chan and Sai spent nearly three hours giving their statements to the police.

00:36Xin Zhiu has since apologized over the mistake and said it would enhance the review procedures

00:40for its publications, particularly regarding the use of artificial intelligence. Yesterday,

00:46the young dipertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, had weighed in on the controversy, saying Xin Zhiu's

00:51mistake was unacceptable and that the news outlet should have been more vigilant.
