Severe storms dropped hail across multiple states on April 15, ahead of winter weather returning for a while.

00:00This is what we're going to be tracking here across the northeast heading into this evening.
00:03You can see we still have some of that snowfall continuing across northern parts of Michigan,
00:07but overall you can see that now we're starting to see some of that cold rain trying to transition
00:11over into some snowflakes being mixed in, some wet snowflakes there across parts of the Great Lakes
00:17there pushing into western New York. But overall here for us we had a couple severe thunderstorm
00:21warnings earlier. First we're going to take a closer look at Boston. Earlier we were talking
00:25about how we're going to see some heavy showers, even some rumbles of thunder pushing into the
00:29Boston metro. That is currently happening right now. The good news is over the past couple radar
00:34scans you can see that the overall intensity of those storms has really come down and the good
00:40news is not really tracking much lightning with these storms as well. So that's the good news there
00:44if there's going to be any silver lining to any of these storms. But other than that we still have
00:48had some severe thunderstorm warnings here across parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Taking a
00:53closer look here at those storms you can see that the overall trend for these storms was on a very
00:58strong weakening pattern here over the past couple radar scans. So that's how you can see right there
01:03that the severe thunderstorm warnings that we had were allowed to expire. So it does look like the
01:08good news will be, at least for New York City, airplanes, air travel will be allowed to get back
01:13to normal here as we head throughout the next couple of hours. They got backed up a little bit because of
01:17the impending severe weather. You don't want to be taking off and you don't want to be landing in
01:21severe thunderstorms with some hail. So that's why that happened. The other thing I also want to point out is
01:26that we also had a pretty good thunderstorm that worked its way through Scranton again. Scranton
01:30actually had two strong thunderstorms including one severe thunderstorm warning earlier. That's
01:34that first storm that moved through. But that storm that moved through Scranton, even with all that
01:38lightning that it had, that one has still come down there in overall intensity. So the good news is
01:44it's looking like the thundershowers that we'll be tracking here as we head into this evening, as we
01:48head into tonight, will continue to be on a downward trend. But we could still see some brief heavy
01:52downpours of rain. We can't rule out the possibility of some rumbles of thunder here as we head into
01:56tonight. But after that, Anna, tracking more winter weather in the forecast here as we head into the
02:01overnight hours. Snow is like the thing that we just can't get rid of. It's like that person that's
02:05been at your house way too long that you're like, please leave. But they won't. Yeah, my wife
02:11normally says that's me, so I don't really know what to say to that. But yeah, it's April 15th. We should
02:15be done with the snowfall by now, right? You would think. I know some people are maybe like okay with
02:19this or happy about it. I am not one of those people if you can't tell.
