00:01Right next to East the Road, Hibbs looking to strengthen their hold on third place.
00:05Dundee fighting to avoid relegation.
00:07Changed days.
00:08The last time these sides met back in November was the moment Hibbs hit rock bottom
00:12as they were thumped 4-1 by the dark blues.
00:30The final Premiership match before the split takes place at a teeming Easter Road.
00:51Hiberni and Gunning to strengthen their grip on third.
00:54Dundee continuing their quest to clamber away from any relegation trouble.
00:59At this stage of the season, it's a massive showdown.
01:02Hibbs haven't lost the game since December in this league
01:05and the same team which Concord Ibrox is deployed today.
01:08Rocky Bashiri plays his 100th Hibbs match.
01:10Junior Hoyle has been in excellent form.
01:12Martin Boyle closing in on a century of Hibbs goals.
01:16Similar story for Tony Docherty after a first league clean sheet since October.
01:20Unchanged line-up.
01:21Shocknessy and Clark Robertson were key to shutting out St. Murr.
01:25Former Hibbs.
01:26Simon Murray has 21 goals this season.
01:29Triantis gives Obita something to hear after.
01:34Boils on hand.
01:35So too is Hoyle.
01:37Sizing up Shocknessy.
01:38Hoyle shots.
01:39Deflected behind for the opening corner.
01:42Such a tricky operator, the veteran Canadian.
01:49He's having a real purple patch late part of the season.
01:5750 goals apiece between Hibbs and Dundee this season.
02:00Simon Murray has scored the bulk of them for his team.
02:03And he forces a stop from Jordan Smith at his near post.
02:08Only Dyson Maeda has more Premiership goals this term than Simon Murray.
02:12Looking to make it 22 in all competitions.
02:18Triantis away.
02:19Leavitt helping it on and Kuharovic has steamed onto this one.
02:24Playing in Hoyle.
02:25The Ukrainians continue his run.
02:27Mikola Kuharovic for Hibbs.
02:29Slashes the post and Boyle can't meet the follow-up.
02:32Hoyle grapples it under control.
02:36Laying it back for Leavitt.
02:38Leavitt shots.
02:40And it takes a nick on its way past Trevor Carson.
02:48It's a blister encounter this from the Hibbs.
02:50Hoyle teed up by Kuharovic.
02:52The way to the pass is excellent.
02:54First touch takes him a little wide.
02:56And perhaps he should be rippling the back of Trevor Carson's net.
03:01Hoyle has Everon had to pick up.
03:04And then Dylan Leavitt who scored at Ibrox eight days ago.
03:07And it comes from Boyle.
03:14There's Bashiri.
03:16And there is the opener.
03:21The Titan at the back.
03:23Who epitomises this remarkable Hibernian turnaround.
03:27Shatters the deadlock in Leith.
03:32Unfancied.
03:33Unwanted apparently for an age.
03:35Rocky Bashiri.
03:37Now the cornerstone of the Hibbs defence.
03:39And scoring his fifth goal of the season for the High Bs.
03:43And Rocky Bashiri's name echoes around Easter Road.
03:49Hibbs looking to equal a club record run of 17 league matches without defeat.
03:55Last time that happened.
03:571948.
03:59The start of the famous five era.
04:01Here's Chris Caron.
04:03Bamboozling Larkesh.
04:04And Hoyle.
04:05Just can't coordinate his feet in time.
04:08Kuharovic keeps it in.
04:12Dundee survive.
04:14It's a lovely ball this from Dylan Leibbitt.
04:18The low scurring diagonal.
04:20Chris Caron's got a V8 engine to get onto it.
04:23And then the trickery to flummox Larkesh.
04:26Teasing delivery.
04:28The reflection took it away from Hoyle.
04:30Leibbitt's ball in.
04:32away from Clark Robertson.
04:35Triantis looking for Boyle.
04:38Mulligan gets onto it for Dundee.
04:40But he is hunted down by a pack of ravenous Hibernian Wolves.
04:44Triantis.
04:45Bashiri of all people with the layoff.
04:47Kuharovic's shots.
04:49And it trickles wide.
04:54Hibbs feasting on Dundee's inaccuracy here.
04:57Dispossessed in their own half.
04:59And Kuharovic inches away from doubling the Hibbs lead.
05:06No top flight win for Dundee in Leith since 2001.
05:09No back-to-back wins for Dundee against Hibbs in the top division since 2002
05:14when Ivano Bonetti was in the dugout.
05:18Mubita, Slading and Lewis Miller well off his right wing here.
05:22Miller cuts it back and Bowie sweeps home.
05:29A ruthless finish from the substitutes.
05:33And might not put the game beyond Dundee.
05:40Double tops for Kieran Bowie.
05:43Still not quite at full match fitness but showing flashes of what he's capable of.
05:48The work of Lewis Miller must be commended here.
05:51The right centre half prowling down the left touchline to work ahead of Mubita.
05:57A calm pick-out with his left foot.
05:59And the finish emphatic from the Scotland age-grade striker.
06:04And perhaps he will be catching the eye of Steve Clarke in the months and seasons ahead.
06:20Miller hurls the throw into the box.
06:22Bowie goes after it.
06:25Dwight Gale wins it back for Hibbs.
06:28Obita assessing his options.
06:32Triantis.
06:36Clever ball to Bowie.
06:37Gale makes the run inside.
06:39Next to the head of Silla and Gale makes it three.
06:42It's a classic finish.
06:51From one of the Premiership's stock Predators.
06:57How many times has Gale gobbled up chances just like that?
07:04It might be his last season in pro football.
07:07But he's still got the class.
07:10And he's still got those razor-sharp instincts.
07:13Neat interplay with his strike partner.
07:16And a clinical finish beyond Trevor Carson.
07:19Into the bottom corner.
07:213-0 Hibernian.
07:23And a bleak day for Dundee.
07:25Gets darker.
07:27And darker by the minute.
07:31Tony Dougherty will be dismayed at the manner of this.
07:34Second half collapse from his team.
07:38First half was pretty tame as well mind you.
07:43Obita picking pockets.
07:45Winning possession back for Hibbs.
07:47Nicky Caden off the bench.
07:49Oh what a fall that is!
07:53Bowie has another.
07:57But a leaf roar heralds the return of Nicky Caden.
08:01Back from his hamstring injury.
08:02And back making magic with that left peg.
08:03A couple of touches to set himself.
08:04And then he does what he's been doing all season.
08:05Pinpoint delivery.
08:06And another terrific finish.
08:07This time via the forehead of Kieran Bowie.
08:09What a sight to behold for the Hibbs fans.
08:12A fit in firing Nicky Caden.
08:14Laying on goals once again.
08:16How far Hibbs have come since being annihilated 4-1 at Denz Park back in November.
08:17The nadir of a desperate start to the campaign.
08:22As Dundee go in search of a consolation.
08:23But it's off the post.
08:24And it's helped behind by a combination of Iredale and Smith.
08:25Sepp Pamela.
08:26And it's helped behind by a combination of Iredale and Smith.
08:27Sepp Pamela Holden who scored in that match.
08:28And it's helped behind by a combination of Iredale and Smith.
08:29Sepp Pamela Holden who scored in that match.
08:30And it's helped behind by a combination of Iredale and Smith.
08:34Sepp Pamela Holden who scored in that 4-1 drubbing in the City of Discovery.
08:35Unable to do so for Dundee here.
08:36And it's helped behind by a combination of Iredale and Smith.
08:39Sepp Pamela Holden who scored in that 4-1 drubbing in the City of Discovery.
08:41Unable to do so for Dundee here.
08:42And from relegation fears to European dreams.
08:43The High Bay's famous five.
08:44And it's helped behind by a combination of Iredale and Smith.
08:48And it's helped behind by a combination of Iredale and Smith.
08:54Sepp Pamela Holden who scored in that 4-1 drubbing in the City of Discovery.
09:00Unable to do so for Dundee here.
09:03And from relegation fears to European dreams.
09:08The High Bay's famous five have company in the unlikeliest of David Grey's heroes.
09:15Full-time at east of the road to burn in for Dundee 0.
09:21Brilliant result, brilliant performance.
09:23Four goals at home.
09:24Never an easy thing to do.
09:26And a clean sheet which is huge as well.
09:28Especially when, as I talked a lot about before the game, Dundee's firepower and the amount of goals they score.
09:33So to come away with a clean sheet is a fantastic day's work all and all.
09:36We went and equaled the record for 1948 or whatever it was today.
09:39Seven straight wins at home.
09:40All the positive things that we are doing at the moment.
09:43And changing history in a positive way is a real testament to the players.
09:46They deserve all the credit.
09:47But also the staff, you know, for all the work that goes on behind the scenes every single day.
09:51And then the togetherness and the connection between ourselves and the fans is clear for everyone to see.
09:55And I thought you'd seen that right for the first minute today.
09:57With the fans getting right behind us.
09:58So, you know, everything's going in the right direction.
10:00There's a lot of hard work still to be done.
10:02But we've certainly gave ourselves a brilliant opportunity.
10:04The Hibs are a good side, you know, and they're doing things well.
10:07That's why they're in the position that they're in.
10:08But I just thought we made it a little bit easier for them today.
10:10Particularly in that first half.
10:11You know, the first goal we shouldn't concede.
10:13It's a mistake that leads to the goal.
10:15And then, as I say, I thought we were really in the game at the start of the second half.
10:19And we played a lot of good football.
10:21A lot of stuff that I'd been looking for from my team.
10:23But again, when you concede the level of goal that we conceded, then that's unacceptable.
10:30The Hibs bandwagon rolls on and it's hugely impressive to watch Richard Foster, Rocky Bashiri, opening the score.
10:38He almost seems to personify this improvement in Hibs.
10:40He's had a mistake in him in the past, but he's become such a huge player for Hibs.
10:44He has, but I think Tony Dock's right.
10:46I think Dundee make it really, really easy for him.
10:48Look at the space.
10:49They're afforded to cross the ball in.
10:51And I think it's Clark Robertson gets the wrong side of him.
10:53And Bashiri doesn't really need to do much.
10:55He's just, he's volleyed that.
10:56And, you know, waist height.
10:57He's a strong lad.
10:58There's no point in trying to wrestle him.
11:00But you've got to get goal side.
11:01But again, they were offered up so much space.
11:04And I wonder if that's the mistake that Tony Dock spoke about.
11:07Because he had, I think it was five players outside the box.
11:11Callum pointed out off air.
11:13That's not normal.
11:15You normally have somebody in that space.
11:16So I wonder if that's the mistake he spoke about.
11:18But it made it far too easy for Hibs to score there.
11:20Yeah, Hibs dominated the play for large parts as well, Callum.
11:23You're hugely impressed by Junior Hoylet pulling the strings.
11:25Yeah, definitely.
11:26I think his intelligence, his movement.
11:28He's obviously playing against Silla.
11:30And here you can see he's about 40, 50 yards away from Silla.
11:33In the system he plays, he plays them behind the two strikers.
11:35Then he's picking up positions where it's very, very hard to mark.
11:38And that's Joe Shaughnessy.
11:40That's one that's half-stepping out of his position.
11:43You know, he did it time and time again.
11:45This is obviously a little bit of difference, but he's anticipating it here as well.
11:48You know, and for me, just intelligence.
11:51And for me, it's just the way to pass.
11:52It's the little bit of experience he's got.
11:54But I really enjoyed it because he never stood still.
11:56When Dundee had the ball, he went and stood next to Silla.
11:59And then when they didn't have the ball, he made it really hard for them, Dundee,
12:02to try and get any foothold in the game.
12:04And I think that's how they struggled.
12:05You know, and there's, again, a wee bit of intelligence, that composure.
12:08Gets the ball, doesn't panic.
12:10You know, and then he links the play again.
12:12I think you see here, I think this is the one, I think it's the switch of play.
12:15Again, he's not standing still.
12:17Silla's been getting dragged with him.
12:18Now there's space to go and switch.
12:20Don't be wrong, I think that Dundee can lag and defend better.
12:23But then all of a sudden, you see him, there he goes, at the back post
12:26and very, very unlucky not to get the goal.
12:28Yeah, and Dundee, I mean, really concerning from their point of view today.
12:31Yeah, I think, you know what?
12:33They just came up against a really, really good Hibs side.
12:35You know, a team that are absolutely flying.
12:37You heard David Gray talk there, seven wins in a row at home.
12:40You know, again, Hoyle, his movement's fantastic.
12:43He's a clever player.
12:45You know, by all accounts, he trains very well.
12:47He's one of the top trainers every single day.
12:49But Dundee were just a bit off it and Hibs were on it.
12:52And I think, you know, yes, we can look at it and they can see another four goals
12:55and that's disappointing.
12:56But sometimes you just come up against a better team.
12:59And if you're not, you know, on your metal and you're not as organised as Dundee can be
13:03and as Tony Dock would like them to be, you're going to suffer a heavy defeat.
13:06What a cameo from Kieran Bowie today, Calum Davidson.
13:09As Scotland fans were always searching for somebody to spearhead our attack.
13:1222 years of age.
13:13Could this be the man for the future?
13:15Yeah, definitely.
13:16You know, I've watched his career.
13:17I think he was starting, I think it was at Wraith Rovers and he went down the road.
13:20To Fulham, yeah.
13:21To Fulham.
13:22But again, obviously staying fit.
13:24I think his movement is really good.
13:26It's powerful.
13:27He can link the game.
13:28You know, I think you see here Tony would be really disappointed with this goal.
13:31You think he's still in the game here.
13:34But they just let Miller run.
13:35They just let him.
13:36Nobody tracks a runner.
13:37Yeah.
13:38And the players and then all of a sudden the ball gets played to Miller and then you've got to mark that.
13:41It's the same as the Rangers game.
13:42That second six, stop it there.
13:44Second six yard box.
13:45That defender has to go and close that space.
13:47Joe's in the right position.
13:48He'll have to try and stop it.
13:49But I think they need to stop that.
13:51Again, that's a quality finish.
13:52That's a real quality finish from him.
13:55Yeah, I mean, he seems to have all the attributes, certainly.
13:58And as Calum says, Richard, if you can steer clear of injury, he seems to be a bit of an all-rounder.
14:03Yeah, I mean, he's, I spoke about it on the radio earlier on.
14:06He's an old school number nine for me.
14:09You know, he's big.
14:10He's quick.
14:11He's mobile.
14:12He's strong.
14:13He links the game.
14:14He's clever.
14:15His movement's really good in and around the box.
14:17I mean, this to be fair, good goal, but it's a fantastic delivery.
14:20It's just begging to be headed into the net.
14:22But again, he's in the right position.
14:24They've actually got an overload in the box here.
14:26Hibbs, Dundee don't defend it very well.
14:28He gets a front, I think it's, again, it's Clark Robertson maybe there.
14:31And a fantastic header.
14:32But he's, if you look at the profile of a number nine, that is it.
14:35And do we have that at Scotland?
14:37You've got Lyndon Dykes who's a bit different to him again.
14:40Maybe not as clinical as a goal scorer.
14:42But Calum's right.
14:43The key is avoid injuries.
14:44He's only young, he's only relatively young.
14:46So he needs, he needs to probably have a good rest of the season,
14:49starting the next season, starting next season really well.
14:52And then he probably will come into contention.
14:54Yeah, Hibbs looking very good indeed.
14:55It's been another glorious Sunday in the Premierships.
14:57In the Premierships.
14:58In the Premierships.
