00:00:18they are the winners of League One, 11 points the gap between them and Cove Rangers,

00:00:24only three games remaining now, so well done to David Gold and Colin Hamilton as well

00:00:29for securing that title and there's a few other titles that will be decided sooner rather than later.

00:01:39St Mirren will host Rangers.

00:01:41And then in the second round of fixtures, it will be Rangers against Celtic.

00:01:46But by that time, Celtic only need a point to secure the title.

00:01:50And that could well happen at Tanadice.

00:01:53Yeah, I've said this year in, year out.

00:01:56If I was in a team that was going to win the league,

00:01:59I'd prefer to win it at home in front of my own fans.

00:02:03Obviously, that doesn't happen all the time.

00:02:06You want to win it as quick as possible.

00:02:08But, you know, I'm sure that...

00:02:10Who fixed the fixtures?

00:02:12Was it that computer again?

00:02:13Yeah, computer and then a little bit of tweaking here and there.

00:02:16Because, obviously, I don't think you can put into a computer

00:02:20all the people who have self-interest in these situations, Tam.

00:02:25It's obviously, you're going to get your X amount of home and away games, Peter.

00:02:29And, you know, from a Hibbs point of view,

00:02:31that's a real tough one to start off.

00:02:33But, you know, Aberdeen away, Hibbs are three points behind them, I think.

00:02:36If they can go up there and win,

00:02:37then I think they would have third in the bag.

00:02:39I don't see Donetti beating Celtic.

00:02:40So, yeah, instant man play Rangers.

00:02:42So, obviously, the bottom six wins have to come out as well.

00:02:45There's some big fixtures down there.

00:02:47But I would expect Celtic to get the point

00:02:49and win the league in that game.

00:02:50Yeah, give us your thoughts on that

00:03:36but there's no real edge to it other than maybe

00:03:39Barry Ferguson, off the back of what happens in the Europa League match,

00:03:43might be looking and saying this could be a real marker

00:03:46for any new investors, any takeover,

00:03:50any board that's looking and saying,

00:03:52OK, let's not look further afield,

00:03:54let's look to the homegrown man

00:03:56who's proved he's worthy of becoming Rangers manager.

00:03:59Yeah, listen, I think that Barry will be...

00:04:01That's obviously a fixture that he'll be looking at.

00:04:03He's obviously won at Parkhead.

00:04:04If he beats Celtic at home,

00:04:06then, you know, he puts himself in the frame.

00:04:08Unfortunately, he's not been getting great results domestically

00:04:10at Rangers.

00:04:12But I don't think that's on him.

00:04:13I think that's the players, Peter.

00:04:14So, yeah, I think the second game,

00:04:16listen, Celtic will be smartened from the last few games

00:04:18against Rangers.

00:04:19They'll be wanting to put that right under Brendan Rodgers.

00:04:22So, listen, I don't think there's anything...

00:04:26but as far as the go, Peter,

00:04:28there's not really a lot on that game.

00:04:59And I have to say,

00:04:59first and foremost,

00:05:01congratulations to St Mirren.

00:05:04Third year on the trots.

00:05:05It's a tremendous achievement for St Mirren

00:05:09to get top six once more

00:05:10because of what happened at Foer Park

00:05:12when there was a goalless draw.

00:05:14St Mirren with that 3-2 win,

00:05:16securing top six.

00:05:17Here's how the table panned out

00:05:19with Celtic in first.

00:05:21Rangers,

00:05:21then Hibs,

00:05:23with a three-point advantage

00:05:24over Dundee United and Aberdeen.

00:05:25It's St Mirren,

00:05:27Hearts,

00:05:28Motherwell,

00:05:28Kilmarnock,

00:05:29Ross County,

00:05:30Dundee and St Johnstone.

00:05:31And from Hearts down

00:05:32to St Johnstone,

00:05:34that's your bottom six.

00:05:36So let's first of all

00:05:37concentrate on the positive,

00:05:38Ruffy,

00:05:39which is St Mirren 3-2.

00:05:41An unbelievable result.

00:05:43And, you know,

00:05:44to get that win

00:05:45with the budget they're on,

00:05:47to go above Hearts

00:05:48and secure the sixth place

00:05:50is fantastic.

00:05:52Yeah,

00:05:52they've had a fantastic season.

00:05:53You know,

00:05:54they've had a lot of

00:05:55sort of a turmoil

00:05:55at the beginning of the season.

00:05:57A couple of players,

00:05:58you know,

00:05:59haven't been released,

00:06:00you know.

00:06:01And I think if you

00:06:02cast your mind back,

00:06:03I think for a long,

00:06:04long time,

00:06:05St Mirren were on the end

00:06:06of EAR,

00:06:07you know,

00:06:07for a lot of number of points.

00:06:09So,

00:06:09but they dug in there.

00:06:11The manager's always been

00:06:12positive after games.

00:06:13The fans have been

00:06:14right behind their team

00:06:15and to win it

00:06:16the way they did,

00:06:17you know,

00:06:17scoring just in the last

00:06:19couple of minutes of the game,

00:06:20the whole place erupted.

00:06:21And you can see

00:06:22the celebrations at the side,

00:06:24how much it meant to everybody.

00:06:25It is one of those situations,

00:06:26Tam,

00:06:26where you actually,

00:06:28you've got the tranny on

00:06:29and you're just wondering

00:06:30what's happening elsewhere.

00:06:32It was in Hearts' own hands

00:06:34and they blew it big time

00:06:36and St Mirren

00:06:36with Roland de Dewey

00:06:38scoring the winner

00:06:39took full advantage.

00:06:42Yeah,

00:06:42they did.

00:06:42Listen,

00:06:43it was obviously

00:06:43Hearts would be

00:06:44bitterly disappointed.

00:06:45It was in their hands

00:06:45to go and win

00:06:46and they didn't do that.

00:06:47But St Mirren,

00:06:48you'd fancy them

00:06:49to beat Ross County home,

00:06:50but they made hard work of it.

00:06:51I thought Ross County

00:06:51played really well.

00:06:53A couple of great goals

00:06:54from St Mirren

00:06:55from the edge of the box.

00:06:55I thought the goalkeeper

00:06:56was poor on the one

00:06:58that he played through.

00:06:59I thought he's got to be braver.

00:07:00I thought he bottled it,

00:07:01to be honest,

00:07:02and the boy put it

00:07:03in the back of the net.

00:07:04A younger's goal.

00:07:05A younger's goal.

00:07:05I thought he's got to come out

00:07:06and be more dominant,

00:07:07Peter.

00:07:07If he comes out

00:07:08and screams and dives

00:07:08at the player's feet,

00:07:09then he probably doesn't score.

00:07:12But getting the goal

00:07:13in the last minute,

00:07:14brilliant for St Mirren.

00:07:14It's roughly said there,

00:07:15you know,

00:07:15the three players,

00:07:16I think,

00:07:16disciplinary reasons

00:07:17are to release.

00:07:18They started the season slowly

00:07:19because they were in Europe.

00:07:20There were a lot of games

00:07:21at the start of the season.

00:07:22They've probably been in

00:07:22before a lot of clubs

00:07:24and they're probably

00:07:24running in fumes just now.

00:07:26Just to get into that top six

00:07:28for Stephen Robinson

00:07:28three years in a row,

00:07:29he's a fantastic manager.

00:07:31Talking about guys

00:07:32being up for manager a year,

00:07:34he's got to be in a shake-up as well

00:07:35because of the budget

00:07:36they've got

00:07:37and because of

00:07:37how the seasons unfold,

00:07:39particularly at the start of the season.

00:07:40To get in the top six

00:07:41in the last day of the season

00:07:42is phenomenal for St Mirren.

00:07:43And as you mentioned there,

00:07:45Stephen Robinson,

00:07:46the St Mirren boss,

00:07:46acknowledges that the Saints

00:07:48always seem to do it the hard way.

00:07:50Win the game,

00:07:51get 41 points,

00:07:52it's a huge achievement.

00:07:53What happens after that,

00:07:54we're not in control of.

00:07:56So that's what we concentrated on

00:07:57when we scored the third goal.

00:07:59I did ask the question

00:08:00and that was panic stations.

00:08:02So I'm not going to lie.

00:08:04Yeah,

00:08:04there was no,

00:08:05it was all rice decisions after that.

00:08:07But we managed the game

00:08:08and then the boys told me

00:08:10that the Hearts game was finished

00:08:11with a minute to go.

00:08:12So you're hoping you don't concede

00:08:13but this is St Mirren,

00:08:14this is us,

00:08:15we do things the hard way.

00:08:16So we were delighted

00:08:17for the final whistle.

00:08:18Yeah,

00:08:19he's a good manager,

00:08:20Ruffey,

00:08:20and I think St Mirren

00:08:22appreciate what they've got.

00:08:24Yeah,

00:08:24I think any supporter

00:08:26at St Mirren

00:08:26who've been there

00:08:27a long time

00:08:28all know there's been

00:08:29a lot of turmoil

00:08:31behind the scenes.

00:08:32Obviously,

00:08:32the board's been taken over

00:08:34a couple of times,

00:08:35you know,

00:08:35they were unsettled

00:08:37for a long, long time.

00:08:38Obviously,

00:08:38changed managers

00:08:39but now

00:08:40they've got the right manager

00:08:41who's winning games

00:08:42and I think

00:08:43they've just sent it down there.

00:08:45I think the players

00:08:46that he's managed

00:08:47to bring in,

00:08:47whoever his contact is,

00:08:50the quality players,

00:08:51the boy O'Hara

00:08:52was out for a large part

00:08:54of the season,

00:08:54I know,

00:08:54but he come back again.

00:08:56I just think

00:08:57they're very good to watch.

00:08:58They can play it short,

00:09:00they can play it long.

00:09:01You know,

00:09:02he's tactically very aware

00:09:04of any of the teams

00:09:04that he comes up against

00:09:06and I'm sure

00:09:07if you ask a lot

00:09:07of the other teams

00:09:08in the division,

00:09:09they're very,

00:09:09very difficult

00:09:10to overcome.

00:09:12Yep.

00:09:13Congratulations

00:09:15a tremendous achievement.

00:09:17As for Ross County,

00:09:18they battled away

00:09:19knowing full well

00:09:21they would be

00:09:21in the bottom six,

00:09:24is well prepared for.

00:09:26Yeah,

00:09:27because,

00:09:28like I say,

00:09:28they're disappointed

00:09:30right now

00:09:30but we'll,

00:09:32look at the positives

00:09:34ourselves ready,

00:10:02to go down

00:10:03and Ross County

00:10:04in the play-off.

00:10:06a lot of games

00:10:07to be played.

00:10:08I think Ross County

00:10:09and St Johnston

00:10:09are still fighting

00:10:10for their life.

00:10:12I think

00:10:12they're just not

00:10:14getting the results

00:10:15just now

00:10:15but I think

00:10:16the both of them

00:10:17will think

00:10:18now going into

00:10:19the split

00:10:20with Kilmarnock,

00:10:21the state,

00:10:21Kilmarnock's in

00:10:22and Dundee

00:10:23if they can drag

00:10:24Motherwell into it

00:10:25as well.

00:10:26You know,

00:10:27I think they've still

00:10:27got a fighting chance

00:10:28because they've got

00:10:29a one game.

00:10:30Three points can,

00:10:31when it comes to the split,

00:10:32the three points

00:10:32can be vital

00:10:33to anybody.

00:10:35Yeah,

00:10:35so from that game

00:10:37at St Mirren's

00:10:39Ground

00:10:40to Fir Park

00:10:41where basically

00:10:42there was another

00:10:43permutation.

00:10:44If St Mirren

00:10:44had lost

00:10:45to Ross County,

00:10:47there was an opportunity

00:10:48and an opening

00:10:48for Motherwell

00:10:49if they were to

00:10:50defeat Hearts

00:10:50to go top six

00:10:52but Hearts

00:10:53had destiny

00:10:53in their own hands.

00:10:55A win for them

00:10:55and they were

00:10:56in the top six

00:10:57something that I think

00:10:58a number of the

00:10:59Hearts fans

00:10:59travelling to

00:11:00Fir Park

00:11:01were hoping

00:11:02that was going

00:11:03to be the case.

00:11:04They were quite confident

00:11:04that was going to be

00:11:05the case

00:11:05but it just

00:11:06didn't materialise.

00:11:07I was there at

00:11:09the worst games

00:11:11I've witnessed

00:11:14absolutely woeful

00:11:15and Motherwell

00:11:18not too great

00:11:21from Hearts

00:11:21point of view

00:11:22when you consider

00:11:23I just thought

00:11:25they were

00:11:25absolutely woeful

00:11:31and I've heard

00:11:35talking about

00:11:36maybe it's just

00:11:41forward thinking

00:11:44that can actually
