A massive security operation is underway in Kuala Lumpur as Malaysia prepares to host Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Xi is set to arrive in the capital on Tuesday (April 15) as part of his three-nation Southeast Asian tour.

00:00The authorities are taking no chances with security preparations ahead of Chinese President
00:08Xi Jinping's state visit to Malaysia.
00:11Besides road closures, over a thousand police officers and personnel will be deployed to
00:16maintain security throughout his three-day visit.
00:20The visit is at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.
00:26During his visit, Xi will be accorded a state welcoming ceremony, followed by an audience
00:31with the King at Istana Negara.
00:34Sultan Ibrahim will also graciously host a state banquet in honor of Xi and his delegation.
00:41On Monday, Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department Director, Commissioner
00:46Datuk Azmi Abu Qasim inspected security preparations at the palace.
00:52He also met with Chinese ambassador to Malaysia, Uyang Yujing, to brief him on the security
00:57arrangements.
00:59Also spotted at the Istana Negara was the Chinese President's Hong Ki-en 701 limousine.
