00:00Hello, I'm Michael Crossland, business reporter with the Yorkshire Post, here with some interesting
00:05news in that the historic Craigland Hotel, which is located in Ilkley, has been bought out by a
00:12company called Rambler Group in a move the business said would mark the beginnings of an exciting new
00:19chapter. The Victorian building, which is Grade 1 listed, was bought through Rambler Group's
00:24subsidiary Atlantis Hotels for an undisclosed sum. The firm said that the move marks the first step in
00:32its 24-month £30 million growth strategy and said it will now undertake a comprehensive and
00:39sensitive refurbishment with the aim of repositioning the hotel as a, in its words, leading four-star
00:46wellness destination. The Craiglands Hotel building was first built in 1859, close to the iconic Ilkley
00:55Mall. Just as a bit more context around Rambler Group as well, the company works across the transport,
01:02tourism, leisure and hospitality sectors. The business also last year bought out bus company
01:09Morton's travel from National Express for an undisclosed sum. It has also said that it intends
01:16to make further acquisitions, in particular buying what it described as landmark hotels.
01:23That's all for the time being. I'm Michael Crossland reporting for the Yorkshire Post.
