00:00The Department of Public Works and Highways Southern Mindoro District completed the construction of a bridge in Pinamalayan Oriental Mindoro

00:09which can help improve the public's accessibility to transportation unless and travel woes in the area.

00:16A sapit of Philippine Information Agency, Memaropa, has the details.

00:20A newly constructed bridge in Pinamalayan Oriental Mindoro is expected to significantly improve transportation accessibility for local communities,

00:33boost economic activity, and enhance daily lives of residents.

00:38Located in Barangay Lumabayan, the bridge was successfully completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways Southern Mindoro District

00:45as part of the government's ongoing infrastructure development initiatives.

00:49According to DPWH Southern Mindoro District Engineer Anilin Padulio,

00:55the completion of the bridge is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s vision to enhance connectivity between communities,

01:03especially those in remote or underserved areas.

01:06Meanwhile, Project Engineer Diosdado Romi emphasized the positive impact of the bridge on the local population.

01:13He stated that residents will now experience a more convenient and safer means of transportation,

01:20allowing them to travel to nearby towns and cities with greater ease.

01:24This is especially beneficial for students, workers, farmers, and small business owners

01:30who rely on efficient transport systems for their daily activities.

01:34Beyond personal mobility, the bridge is also expected to improve the flow of goods and services in the area.

01:41With a more reliable transportation route, farmers and local producers will find it easier to bring their products to markets,

01:49leading to increased trade and economic opportunities.

01:53Additionally, the bridge is set to support local tourism,

01:56as it connects major access points to beach destinations and other tourist attractions in Pinamalayan,

02:03helping to boost the town's economy and create new livelihood opportunities for residents.

02:08More than 15,000 residents from nearby barangays are expected to benefit from the newly constructed bridge.
