00:00Well, good morning from Villa Pamphili. This is where Prime Minister Maloney hosts international VIPs such as the King or President Donald Trump or Prime Minister Sakhir Starmer.
00:12But today, of course, it is the King that is being hosted by Prime Minister Maloney.
00:16Well, the King will be holding an audience with her. Of course, that meeting is private, but we'll bring you the lines, any lines that we do manage to get.
00:24It's such a beautiful setting, this garden. It used to be a private state of your home house, and now it's been kind of swarmed by media.
00:31And in that little, what's it called, conservatory, is food and drinks.
00:35So I'm going to go here and show you what the media gets to eat and drink while we're waiting for the King to arrive.
00:42Look at all this good stuff.
00:43You slit these trousers.
00:46Dreamy.
00:48Oh, we are treated well by the Italians.
00:54Well, that video you just saw was us getting a police escort through the traffic so we can get to this building on time,
01:21which is the Parliament, which is where the King will be delivering a speech.
01:25First British monarch to address a joint session of the Italian Parliament.
01:29Later on, we are going to be live.
01:31We're going to broadcast a speech live on TV News, and then I will have to analyse that speech live off the back
01:35for all of you watching on television and on radio and, of course, online as well.
01:39All very busy.
01:40The beautiful, this city of Rome.
01:42And there is the Italian Parliament where the King has just delivered his landmark speech.
01:49Only the fourth non-Italians who ever stepped foot and delivered a speech on the President's podium.
01:53We also spoke to some amazing people who watched the speech.
01:57I'm not going to spoil it now, but you will watch it on the TV and, of course, on Twitter and on the Internet on our GBNews.com website as well.
02:05There's also a really fun ice cream shop, a very famous gelato place that the King and Queen visited.
02:11So I'm going to go and get an ice cream and, of course, I'll show you the ice cream.
02:16Success.
02:17Raspberry, caramel and droplets.
02:22Yes!
02:22Ice cream.
02:25So, mad dash back to the hotel because I'm actually now polishing my shoes for the estate banquet this evening
02:32because I've got to wear a tuxedo because I'm going inside to cover it.
02:37So, yes, very exciting.
02:39But I should probably get polishing because they're not very shiny right now.
02:47Well, welcome to the Presidential Palace.
02:50Coronado here in Rome.
02:52The location of the state banquet this evening.
02:54I'm going to go in and cover it with some other journalists and cameras and reporters.
02:59We're going in and it should be a good evening.
03:00Clint delivering another speech.
03:03And suddenly not in the tuxedo.
03:04So, when we're at the state banquet covering the beautiful table settings,
03:09the wonderful speeches by the King and the President,
03:12we found out that the King and the Queen met the Pope this afternoon.
03:16Completely unexpected.
03:17Clearly all of us had already done our reports for breakfast.
03:22So all the broadcasters, all the print sheets and everybody is basically having to throw it out and start again
03:29because clearly it's very significant that the King has met the ailing Pope in the Vatican.
03:35So we're just redoing our package.
03:37Tom, producer, busy editing away as I've redone it.
03:41And I'm eating a takeaway pizza because we do not have time to go to a restaurant
03:46because we've got to edit this for you guys tomorrow morning on breakfast
03:50and then get on a very, very early train to Ravenna.
03:53So, yeah, I will see you in the morning.
03:55And I'll see you in the morning.
03:57Enjoy.
03:58Good afternoon.
