00:00When we hear the traffic here, it is an indication of what needed to happen on this road.
00:04This is a very busy highway.
00:07It is the major connecting piece between Sydney and the central west
00:11and into the western region of the state.
00:13This is a project that we knew needed to happen
00:16because we did need to start the process of getting the Great Western Highway upgraded
00:21so that it can cope with traffic now and into the future.
00:24We are very excited about the 70 metre long bridge.
00:28Behind us is a stunning example of architecture
00:31but also the importance of having those shared pathways for local residents
00:35to be able to navigate this through active transport,
00:38walking or riding or using other forms of active transport.
00:44When I see the Minister come, I always take the opportunity, one, to ask how she is
00:49but most importantly, it gives me an opportunity to advocate on behalf of my community
00:54and bring to her attention what we need here in the city of Greater Lithgow
00:59because as far as I'm concerned, it's the centre of the universe
01:02and today, it deserves to be the centre of the universe.
01:05And what a beautiful day it is.
