00:00That was a total snooze.
00:02Autumn in game, as you would call it.
00:03Like, dude, Phoenix, are you there?
00:07No.
00:07I knew you were bad.
00:09Yeah.
00:10But that's where you are?
00:11I guess.
00:12Holy crap.
00:13John Bloom joined us yesterday, radio play-by-play announcer for the Suns, and you know I love
00:18John Bloom.
00:19You do love John Bloom.
00:20And he kind of all but said it in his tone.
00:23Like, he didn't say flat out, we stink and we're getting clobbered, but there wasn't
00:27a lot of, you know what?
00:28It's a win or lose, it's a win or go home for us, and this and that.
00:33Prideful night.
00:33Right.
00:34It was kind of like, well, I mean, guys, I mean, you see it and I see it, and I even asked
00:38him directly about Coach Budd, like, what do you think in the future?
00:42And he didn't want to answer it, but what I heard in his tone was, he's gone and this
00:47whole thing is going to change.
00:48The whole thing's going to blow up.
00:50It has to.
00:51And the Warriors just, I mean, what a perfect thing when they've got three games in four
00:56nights, what a perfect thing to have those, you know, the key players in the second half
01:02just watch basketball.
01:04You know, we got a, we got a Pat night.
01:07I love a Pat night.
01:08Yep.
01:09For the Warriors in the fourth quarter.
01:11Shout out TJD.
01:12I think it's a minute.
01:13Well, TJD got actual real minutes.
01:15He got actual minutes.
01:15Real minutes.
01:16He got real minutes.
01:16And then he got fake minutes also.
01:18Right.
01:19So real and fake all at the same time.
01:21How about that?
01:22Pretty funny.
01:23But anyway, yeah, like this whole thing, that was perfect.
01:27That's exactly what the Warriors needed.
01:29And I think you're going to get a lot of that.
01:31You're going to get a lot of that this week.
01:33And yes, I would expect and hope for more of that tonight, which is why, you know, foot
01:38has to be on the gas at all times because you never know when a bunch of NBA players are
01:43suddenly going to go on a heater, which is what happened in Minnesota last night.
01:47And that's huge, huge for the Warriors.
01:51Minnesota is in Memphis tomorrow night.
01:53You are big Minnesota fans because essentially if Minnesota can win that game, I think, I
01:59think the Warriors will handle business and be no worse than the sixth seed by Friday
02:04night when we go to bed.
02:06That's what's on the table.
02:08You win tonight, you win against Portland and Minnesota beats Memphis tomorrow night,
02:11you clinch a playoff spot.
02:12Absolutely.
02:13That's huge.
02:14And even beyond that, like you look ahead of you and Denver's lost four in a row and
02:19they seem like a team in somewhat of disarray and you've got the Clippers, you're tied with
02:24the Clippers and if they win their next two and so do you and then you beat the Clippers,
02:29there's a chance that you can get to the four seed.
02:32There's an outside chance you get to the three.
02:34I know that tonight's going to be fascinating with LA and Luca at Dallas is in Dallas.
02:39I can't wait to see that because Dallas is still like if Dallas wins, then they're in.
02:45It's a winning in the play in and if you lose, there's still an outside chance that Phoenix
02:49can catch you.
02:50They probably won't.
02:51But for Dallas, you're motivated.
02:53Luca's back.
02:54It's the Lakers and you can win and make the play in.
02:57So tonight and I think it's a four thirty four thirty four thirty front end of the ESPN
03:03double dip.
03:03I cannot wait.
03:04Denver and Sacramento is the second game.
03:06And I can't wait as we get closer to talk about like what the Dallas fan base will
03:10do, boo or cheer, video tribute or not.
03:14Luca coming off of a pretty embarrassing performance where he gets thrown out for trash
03:18talking a fan.
03:20Right.
03:20Did the ref think that he was talking to him?
03:23Yes.
03:24Or was he upholding the, gosh, what is it?
03:28The tenor of the sport by throwing him out because he was saying something to a fan.
03:34I couldn't figure that one out.
03:35And the pool report postgame, the official says that they thought that Luca was talking
03:39to the officials.
03:40Right.
03:41Of course.
03:41OK.
03:41And Luca is.
03:42That was a big old that was a big old whoopsie daisy by the refs then.
03:45Well, you know what it is.
03:46He wasn't talking to the ref.
03:48Right.
03:48But when you're the official and you are just officiating the game and you have a player
03:53who is directly yelling in your direction.
03:55Yeah.
03:56You I mean, it's hard to not take it as such.
03:59And I do think if you want to talk about a reputation and it's a reputation sensation is what
04:04it is.
04:04It's fair.
04:05So Draymond Green goes to the basket and tries to score and his elbow hits a guy in
04:10the face.
04:10Well, it's Draymond.
04:12That's a flagrant.
04:13And when you're Luca Donchic and you're barking not at an official, but toward an official,
04:19the official is going to, in the same way, he's going to assume that the player is yelling
04:25at him.
04:25I get it.
04:26Listen, we really want to get into some Brandon Pajemski stuff and we'd love to hear from
04:30you.
04:30Eight at eight, nine, five, seven, nine, five, seven.
04:32But while we're on this, this topic, can I say something unfair?
04:36Sure.
04:36I want to say something unfair right now.
04:39Luca, shut up.
04:42Oh boy.
04:44And it's not unfair.
04:45It's totally unfair.
04:46I root for a team that has Draymond Green.
04:49It's totally unfair.
04:50You said the same thing about Draymond Green.
04:51Well, not really.
04:52Not really.
04:53I have.
04:53And a lot of people have.
04:56But Draymond Green, I would argue, needs that.
05:00It's literally at the core of a lot of what he does.
05:05Draymond is a defensive genius.
05:07Draymond is a heartbeat energy guy.
05:09Draymond is someone who, his talking, that is him.
05:15He can't, when the game ends and there's no one to talk to, he'll get his own microphone
05:21and find Baron Davis and talk to him.
05:23It's who he is.
05:25Dylan Brooks, I can't stand you, but I'd never say that to you.
05:30You guys don't have the offensive talent that Luca Doncic does.
05:35And NBA trash talk is very much at the core of the league.
05:41Kobe and MJ and these guys talked all kinds of stuff.
05:44But they did it in a much more subtle way.
05:47The way that you do it, it's a little under your breath.
05:50It's in the face of the opponent.
05:52You all have that conversation with each other.
05:54And off you go.
05:56Luca, though.
05:58Luca, whether it's the refs, the fans, the other team,
06:03even when he's not speaking, the palms are up constantly.
06:08He won't go play defense.
06:10Dude, if you're really one of the most talented offensive players in the world,
06:15shut up.
06:17God, watching you play basketball is infuriating.
06:21And we talked about this last week surrounding the Laker game.
06:27I can't believe, I think Laker fans are so desperate to get back to their championship ways,
06:34they've convinced themselves that this is the next guy to sort of like carry the entertainment torch
06:42for Laker basketball.
06:44And I think it's laughable.
06:46Like, you tell me, play that old game that we used to with the cartoons when we were kids.
06:51Which one of these is not like the other?
06:53All right?
06:54Ready?
06:55Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Luca Doncic.
07:00Which one of these is not like the other?
07:03Which one?
07:05Which one?
07:05Well, it's probably Luca.
07:06Of course it is.
07:08I mean, he, on the surface, can be in the same conversation as a player eventually.
07:14He's young, he's talented, he's really good.
07:16He's done some winning at that level,
07:18but the way he comports himself, it doesn't work.
07:22And I think about other players like Kobe Bryant and Trash Talk and Michael Jordan.
07:27I don't recall them ever having to Trash Talk a fan.
07:30And that's what got Luca his second tech.
07:32Yeah.
07:32Because there was a fan that clearly was in his ear,
07:36and so he spun around to try to get out a fan?
07:39Like, he's a fan.
07:41Yeah, just shut up.
07:42He's a fan.
07:42It's just wild.
07:43But anyway, anyway, 8-8-9-5-7-9-5-70.
07:46You said something about an hour ago, we're chit-chatting.
07:51And it started to come up on the crossover,
07:54but there's a lot more meat on the bone.
07:56Brandon Pajemski.
07:58Okay.
07:58Last 11 games.
07:59Since his most recent injury, he's come back.
08:02He's played 11 games.
08:03He's averaging over 18 and a half points per night.
08:0711-game stretch, 18 and a half points per game,
08:11and he leads the NBA in three-pointers made.
08:1542 three-pointers in those 11 games.
08:19You don't need to be good at math to realize that that is almost
08:23and approximately four made threes per night over these 11 games.
08:32Sustainability is the question.
08:34It sounded to me like you don't think it is.
08:37Well, this, what he's done in 11 games, I don't believe it is sustainable.
08:42Because if he does this over the course of however long,
08:46well, then he becomes the best three-point shooter percentage-wise
08:49in the history of the game.
08:51No one has ever shot 51 or 52 percent from three.
08:55So if you want to project this out over a playoff run
08:58and think that he's going to do this,
09:00I think that that's pie in the sky thinking.
09:03And I'm looking at the games, 19 games after he got hurt the first time,
09:08and it overlaps a little bit with when Jimmy arrived,
09:11and he was 34 percent from three.
09:13He was 14 a game, and he was getting six rebounds a night.
09:18Six rebounds a night is what he does.
09:20He loves to rebound.
09:21He does.
09:21He's great at it.
09:23And early in the year, he was an awful three-point shooter.
09:27Middle of the year, he was okay, trending toward being better.
09:31And the last 11 games, he's been the best three-point shooter we've ever seen,
09:35including Steph Curry.
09:36So is that sustainable?
09:38Well, if it is, then let's go ahead and talk about when the parade's going to be.
09:42Because if Pods shoots 51 percent from three,
09:45and he gets you 18 or 19 a night,
09:48and Steph is good, and Draymond, and Jimmy, and Kaminga, and whatever else,
09:52then, yeah, now maybe we do have action in June.
09:56Okay, let's change this from sustainable,
09:59and more focus on what is needed from Podjemski in the playoffs.
10:06As I said in the crossovers, next playoff game will be his first.
10:09Yep.
10:09And we know, this is why none of us think that Houston is a problem.
10:15Houston, you're not a problem.
10:16Why?
10:16Well, because you're all 22 years old.
10:18And none of you have ever played in the playoffs before.
10:20So it's a different game.
10:22It's a different sport.
10:23And you're going to wilt, or you're going to falter because of inexperience
10:27and all of that.
10:29Does that apply to Brandon Podjemski?
