00:00A 16-year-old boy was arrested in Kulai Johor on April 8th for allegedly using artificial
00:07intelligence to create fake nude images of women and selling them online for two ringgit each.
00:13Johor Police Chief M Kumar said the teen sourced the victim's photos from social media and used
00:19AI tools to edit their faces onto nude bodies. In a statement, he said an 18-year-old victim
00:25discovered manipulated images of herself being circulated and sold online, prompting her to
00:30lodge a police report on April 3rd. Following a tip-off, police arrested the suspect and seized
00:37a mobile phone believed to be used in the crime. Kumar said eight police reports involving the same
00:42suspect have been lodged. The case is being investigated under Section 292 of the Penal Code
00:48for the sale, distribution, or possession of obscene material and Section 233 of the Communications
00:54and Multimedia Act for improper use of network facilities. In a statement yesterday, Fung-Yu
01:00High School confirmed receiving reports of fake images involving its students and alumni.
01:05Deputy Communications Minister Tio Ni Ching said there could be up to 40 victims,
01:10ranging from current students as young as 14 years old to alumni of the high school.
