00:00What's your view of Sheffield getting a public space protection order in the
00:04city centre? I think yeah obviously but you know obviously a lot of these people
00:08need need help so where they're going to move them to I'm not sure but I think
00:13yeah it's essentially it's a good it's a good move yeah I've worked in social
00:20services for a long long time and a lot of these people have got nowhere else to
00:26go they live on the streets I've looked up to people that if you can give them a
00:35house you can give them everything you give them money you can give them food
00:40you can give them clothing they don't want it their life is living on the street
00:45and it always has been for centuries gone by I don't know good idea try and keep
00:52vagrants off the road and keep drinking off the road especially so all that
00:59does is put people off when they see drunk people on the road

01:08I would be more pleased to see proper provision for people who are homeless
01:14that's really the issue that's at stake here and I think the expansion in
01:19homelessness over the last many decades is it is a shock and that's an answer to
01:27the the problem and a solution rather than tackling symptoms
01:31What do you feel?
01:33I'd agree as I'd like to agree with
01:35Are you pleased to see a public space protection order brought into Sheffield City Centre?
01:41Yes, I am. Do you think it'll make any difference? It may make a bit of
01:47difference I don't think it will solve all the problems because there are more problems
01:53behind people sleeping rough or whatever
