00:00It's going to get warm here at some point.
00:03Good morning and hope you all are doing well.
00:06House Republicans and the American people trust President Trump.
00:12His policies, which put Americans first, will deliver the strongest economy in the world.
00:19For far too long, American workers have been taken advantage of.
00:25And President Trump has made it clear, we will no longer put American workers at an unfair advantage.
00:36Imagine starting a football game, two touchdowns behind.
00:40Or imagine being Houston and starting with a 25-point lead.
00:45Perhaps they would have won the game last night, right?
00:48For the past 50 years, that position, the United States, has actually been in.
00:55That is the position that the United States of America has been in for the past 20-plus years.
01:03Think about it.
01:03Across 132 countries and more than 600,000 products, U.S. exporters face higher tariffs two-thirds of the time.
01:21That is the definition of unfair and completely unacceptable.
01:26Remember, the goal is to level the playing field.
01:32And the President is already bringing our trade partners to the table.
01:37Look at Vietnam and Japan.
01:39Already, businesses have started adjusting and restructuring.
01:45They are investing in America.
01:48The President has secured $5 trillion of investments in the United States in his first two months, including my home state of Michigan,
02:01where Apple announced their intentions to launch a state-of-the-art manufacturing academy.
02:08This is proof that President's negotiations work.
02:13And high-paying, skilled manufacturing jobs will follow these investments to America.
02:21Just look at the job numbers from last week.
02:25Payrolls increased by 228,000.
02:30Payroll increased by 228,000 jobs in March.
02:34That was 88,000 more than forecasters had expected.
02:40And according to the Private Sector Employment Report, in March, 21,000 new jobs were added in manufacturing.
02:50Something unimaginable a year ago.
02:56Look, the reality is Biden left behind a broken economy, and the status quo won't fix it.
03:05No one should fault President Trump for trying unconventional ways to get us out of this mess, because that's what it's going to take.
03:14House Republicans know that President Trump's long-term strategy will pay off.
03:20Now, changing gears and moving on to this week in our work to advance President Trump's agenda,
03:26Americans expect us to do our job.
03:30This week, we need to pass the SAVE Act and secure our elections.
03:38Stop rogue judges from stalling President Trump and the American people's agenda.
03:46Reverse Biden's disastrous policies.
03:51And advance our one big, beautiful bill,
03:54which will help get our economy back on track again and give our markets some certainty.
04:02And we said this from the get-go.
04:04There may be growing pains, but House Republicans are unified behind our common goal.
04:12To deliver on the mandate that the American people gave us.
04:18And now, I will turn it over to the man who will help do that, which is our whip, Tom Emmer.
