At Wednesday's House Republican leadership press briefing, Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI) tore into Democrats.

00:00Good morning, everyone.
00:21Hope everyone's doing well this morning.
00:24Let's be real on a couple things.
00:27Donald Trump could have the cure for cancer, and the Democrats would still be upset.
00:34Democrats are personality-based, not policy-based.
00:37They never talk about the policies.
00:40It's only the person.
00:43Look no further than their latest liberal lunacy.
00:47A year ago, the left loved the electric vehicle.
00:52Remember?
00:53We're going to get rid of all ice engines, you've got to have an electric vehicle, right?
01:00Now what are they doing?
01:01They're vandalizing the electric vehicle.
01:04Now what I find is very interesting, though, is some of these very same cars are owned
01:10and driven by the Democrats.
01:13People in their own party.
01:14I mean, that is Democrat-on-Democrat crime if I've ever seen it.
01:18Now, this shows their playbook and, unfortunately, their values.
01:24Attack the person, not the policy.
01:28Which brings me to this.
01:30Before Democrats begin their next fear-mongering campaign, let me set the record straight.
01:38Last week, President Trump signed an executive order to improve our country's education.
01:46Americans want the best outcomes for students, and so does President Trump.
01:52The President simply asked the Secretary to work with Congress to come up with a plan.
01:59A plan to put students first, not the bloated bureaucracy, teachers unions, or Randy Weingart.
02:07Like the rest of the federal government, the U.S. Department of Education needs to be run
02:13efficiently and effectively.
02:17We should focus the dollars on the students, not the administrators.
02:20I mean, despite billions of dollars being spent, year after year, and every year we
02:27spend more, what happens to our outcomes?
02:31The test scores have not improved.
02:34They've gone the opposite direction.
02:36The Department of Education has received more funding every year, despite lower outcomes.
02:43The American people are paying more and getting less.
02:48We can't keep dumping more money into a broken system.
02:53Our goal is to make the education system better, and better for students.
03:01Democrats are telling more lies.
03:03Their lies about Medicaid have already been debunked, and these education talking points
03:09should be debunked, too.
03:12Now, shifting gears to what else happened during recess, I don't know if you noticed,
03:18but Democrats had held a Medicaid Day of Action, right?
03:23All got together, big day of action.
03:26But unfortunately, they missed the real day of action when they voted to shut the government
03:32down.
03:33They voted against Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security recipients.
03:39They voted against paying our service members, and they voted against funding WIC.
03:46They also voted against the American people.
03:50This led to a complete meltdown by the Democratic Party, and when asked repeatedly whether he
03:57has confidence in Senator Schumer, House Minority Leader, took days to decide.
04:04Others have publicly ridiculed Senator Schumer.
04:07Listen to some of their own comments.
04:09Quote, Schumer is supposed to be the leader of the opposition, not a rank and file member
04:14of the GOP.
04:16Another one, and I quote, I think it's a huge slap in the face, and I think there's a wide
04:20sense of betrayal.
04:22And some even called for Senator Schumer's resignation.
04:26Again, Democrats don't have a clear leader, and recent polls prove this.
04:33When asked who best reflects the core values of the Democratic Party, there was no clear
04:40answer.
04:41Ten percent said AOC.
04:44She got the highest number of votes.
04:46Nine percent said Kamala Harris.
04:49Eight percent said Bernie Sanders.
04:52And Rep Crockett, a Chosen Your Fighter participant, tied former President Obama with four percent.
05:00During recess, I expected to see Schumer and Jeffreys proving to the country that they
05:05are the leaders of the party.
05:07But do you know who filled the void for them?
05:10Governor Walz, Rep AOC, and Senator Bernie Sanders.
05:15It seems that the extreme socialists are the leaders of the Democratic Party.
05:22And they took their message nationwide.
05:26Socialists are defining the Democrats' identity amidst the leadership void.
05:32I bet this leads to more Democratic infighting, fear-mongering, of course, and advocacy for
05:39even more an extreme agenda.
05:42The Democrats will do this while their party's favorability rating is at an all-time low.
05:49Gee, I wonder why.
05:51Meanwhile, Republicans are united behind President Trump and the American people's agenda.
05:57And I'll say that again.
05:58We are united around President Trump and the American people's agenda.
06:04Americans are optimistic.
06:06Americans believe the country is headed in the right direction.
06:10Republicans are getting the country back on track.
06:13This is thanks to President Trump and Republicans' efforts to restore common sense.
06:20And it's not a coincidence that President Trump's approval rating is reaching all-time
06:25highs.
06:26And approval of House representatives is moving upwards as well.
06:30House Republicans are securing the border, we are protecting women, and we are passing
06:36legislation to lower costs for American families.
06:39We kept the government open and our day of action was voting to protect Medicaid, Medicare,
06:46and Social Security recipients.
06:49And House Republicans passed our House budget resolution, and the Senate should pass it
06:54too.
06:56And I'll share with you, we are just getting started, so buckle up.
07:00And because we have a long way to go and a lot more wins on the horizon.
07:06And here to speak about the House Republicans' work is freshman representative Pat Harrington
07:11from North Carolina.
07:13He's a combat veteran and a small business entrepreneur, and he's going to give his perspective
07:19on working in the unified House GOP.
07:22Welcome, Pat.
