00:00Hello and welcome to another edition of Look Around London. Today we're looking at London's
00:05cable cars over the River Thames. The IFS Cloud Cable Car, formerly known as the Emirates
00:11Airline, opened in June 2012. It spans the River Thames, connecting the Royal Docks in
00:17East London to the Greenwich Peninsula. The project was initially launched as part of
00:21the 2012 London Olympic Legacy Plan to improve transport links and offer a unique view of
00:27the city. The cable car features 34 cabins and offers views of landmarks like the O2
00:34Arena and the Thames Barrier. It remains both a tourist attraction and a useful link for
00:38commuters in the city. The service is currently expected to operate until at least 2032, following
00:45an extension to the original agreement in 2022. Stay here on LondonTV for more news
