00:00We are here with our obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Q, to answer some of the health questions that you sent to our FB page.
00:13Good morning to you first, Dr. Q.
00:16Good morning, Connie, and good morning to all of our listeners who are with us this morning.
00:21To my fellow Manuacs in Antique, good morning to you all.
00:24This is the question, Doc, how can we know if a myoma is benign or malignant?
00:30The question is from Rujana Cervantes.
00:33A myoma, Rujana, is a benign tumor of the uterus.
00:36So, it does not become a cancer.
00:38If it becomes a cancer, its risk is only 0.1%.
00:42So, don't be afraid if it is a myoma, it will not become a cancer.
00:45The only problem with a myoma, when it grows and the growth of that myoma is inside the body,
00:51you can have a problem with menstruation.
00:54Your menstruation can become severe or you will have to menstruate for a long time.
00:58If it is too big and it is compressed in the bladder or rectum,
01:05you will have problems with urination and also problems with urination.
01:09Next question, Doc Q, how can we lower the blood pressure of a myoma?
01:15If a myoma has hypertension, we call it gestational hypertension
01:20or if its kidneys and liver are affected, we call it preeclampsia.
01:25So, if a woman's blood pressure is high during pregnancy,
01:28it should be lowered slightly higher than normal,
01:32around 130 over 80 or 130 over 90.
01:35That's a safe blood pressure during pregnancy.
01:38If it has pregnancy-induced hypertension or preeclampsia.
01:43There is a medicine that will be given that is safe for the baby,
01:46that will not affect it and the outcome of the pregnancy will be good.
01:50Question number 3, Doc Q, a question from one of our viewers,
01:54is it possible for a myoma to grow in the private part?
01:58Is it dangerous and what should we do?
02:01A myoma does not have a peeling area of our body.
02:04So, wherever it is, on the face, on the nipples, on our feet, on the belly,
02:09or on any part of the body, a myoma can grow.
02:12This is because of the infection.
02:14Sometimes, in our hygiene, if the hygiene is not good,
02:18there is an infection in that area and that infected area will have a collection of pus.
02:25So, this is what we call a myoma or abscess.
02:28It needs to be drained or excised so that we can remove the site of infection.
02:33Because if it is inside the private part of a woman's body,
02:37inside the door or outside the door, what we call vulva,
02:44it needs to be removed or drained because it is very painful
02:48and it can also spread to other parts of the vulva area.
02:52Here's another one, Doc, from Almina Delizo.
02:55Can I get pregnant again after ectopic pregnancy?
02:59Yes, you can.
03:00Because an ectopic pregnancy involves only one tube,
03:03there is still one tube left there.
03:05So, if there is an ovarian that is close to the tube,
03:09an egg, and there will be fertilization,
03:12it can still grow inside the uterus.
03:15Thank you so much, Doc Q, for answering our questions.
