00:00Getting some reaction to the news today that you can carry on driving your van, there's not going to be a ban on them until at least 2035. How does that make you feel?
00:07It's a big weight off our shoulders really, you know, we can carry on just working, don't need to worry about it.
00:13It's a big expense looking for a new van so we're happy that we can keep using the same one and focus on earning money.
00:22It just means we can carry on working, you know, keep cracking on. It's a big expense if we had to fork out the money for a new van so it's nice to be able to keep on using this.
00:30As self-employed builders, how important is that to make sure that all your money goes to you?
00:36Like I said, you use a van every single day and the money is especially needed, you need it for materials, for everything, so it's really important you don't have to use it for something else.
00:45That I don't have to buy a whole new fleet of vehicles, I think that's the biggest thing to take away from it.
00:52We already lease all our vehicles but to take all of our vehicles and then change them all to electric and then especially when we're carrying heavy goods, they wouldn't be suitable for our business whatsoever.
01:03So the fact that we can still keep going with fossil fuels is important at the minute anyway.
01:09It just makes it a lot easier, electric cars are not really up to it at the moment.
01:12So obviously we're doing a lot of driving here and there, picking stuff up, but electric cars are not up to it.
01:17So for me I can keep this van for as long as I can and then put on through using the diesel, it's a lot easier for me personally.
