00:00Hopefully you're not tiring of the sunshine, the blue skies, because there is plenty more
00:05to come as we go through, well, much of this week.
00:09High pressure firmly in control, it does shift around a little bit as a result, our wind
00:13direction changes and how much moisture, how much cloud we're going to see will alter a
00:18little bit.
00:19But on the whole, high pressure is the story this week, and so there is going to be lots
00:23of fine settled weather.
00:24And that's the picture that we have through Monday afternoon, barely a cloud in the sky
00:28for most of us, albeit a little bit of cloud out towards the North Sea and across the far
00:33north of Scotland, Orkney and Shetland having a bit of cloud here.
00:36Otherwise, plenty of sunshine and slightly lighter winds than we saw over the weekend.
00:41There was a bit of a nagging breeze for a few places, albeit across some eastern and
00:46southern coastal parts, a bit of a breeze here.
00:48And so that's going to make it feel a touch cooler for some places.
00:51But further west, that's where we're going to see the highest temperatures peaking mid
00:55teens for most of us, highs of around 17 or 18 Celsius, perhaps feeling pretty warm
01:01indeed.
01:02It is worth bearing in mind, though, the sun does have some decent strength behind it now,
01:06generally moderate UV levels.
01:07So do take care if you're going to be out in the sunshine for any prolonged periods
01:11of time.
01:12After a sunny day, we have then a largely clear evening and mostly clear night.
01:17Still some cloud, though, for the far north of Scotland, and there will be some low clouds
01:22and mist and fog patches pushing into areas around the Humber and even elsewhere.
01:26With the clear skies, light winds, a few pockets of mist and fog are quite possible.
01:31And with that, we are going to see temperatures turning a little bit on the chilly side, dropping
01:36low single figures in quite a few places, could even be a touch of frost in some prone
01:41rural spots.
01:42So a chilly start to the day on Tuesday for most.
01:45And with that, there's also likely to be a zone of cloud developing somewhere to the
01:49south of London, similar to what we saw through this morning, a Surrey sausage, if you will.
01:54But that shouldn't last particularly long.
01:55That will clear away, as will most of the mist and fog patches that will have developed
02:00overnight, albeit some around perhaps southeast Scotland, northeast England may linger for
02:04a little while through the day.
02:06Generally, I think there will again be lots of sunshine, lots of blue skies on offer as
02:11we go through tomorrow, but perhaps the sunshine a little bit hazier, a bit more high level
02:15cloud around and actually across some parts of East Anglia, Lincolnshire, a bit more cloud
02:20in general.
02:21But still, it is going to be a pretty fine picture and actually temperatures are going
02:26to be a little bit higher than today.
02:28Towards the west is where we're again going to see the highest temperatures, highs around
02:3218, 19 Celsius, perhaps in the east where we get the cloud, it will feel a little bit
02:37cooler, but nonetheless feeling pretty warm in that spring sunshine.
02:42As we go towards the end of the week, we are sticking with high pressure and so that
02:46means we're going to continue to see some pretty warm days.
02:49Like I said at the start, though, the high pressure shifts around a little bit, our wind
02:52direction changes and so where we see the highest temperatures, that will shift a little
02:56bit.
02:57In fact, across some eastern parts of Scotland between Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures
03:01are going to jump quite markedly.
03:04But with the high pressure, the clear skies, we're going to still have some relatively
03:08cool nights.
03:09For the time being, towards the end of the week, signs of some rain pushing its way in
03:14from the north-northwest, but we'll firm up on the details for that nearer the time.
03:18If you want to know a bit more about what the weather is going to be doing through this
03:22week, check out our week ahead forecast with Honour, which will be available on our YouTube
03:25channel later on this afternoon.
03:27Otherwise, I'll see you again soon.
03:28Bye bye.
