00:00:00Welcome to the ultimate proving ground, 16 future greats or legends.
00:00:19He is the epitome of Wrestlemania.
00:00:22Nia broke down barriers for women.
00:00:25Beaver at the table.
00:00:28Can you dig that sucker?
00:00:31A chance to win an NXT contract.
00:00:36Every legend has a first chapter and the future starts now.
00:00:48What does it take to be a WWE superstar?
00:00:55Physical strength? Mental toughness?
00:00:59Determination?
00:01:01But above all, it's an it factor that can't exactly be explained.
00:01:07Roman Reigns lives life in God mode.
00:01:11Superstars aren't born, they are made.
00:01:15And are made here at the WWE Performance Center.
00:01:20And this man, Shawn Michaels, he's at the helm of WWE's developmental program.
00:01:26Good morning. You alright? Excellent.
00:01:29Arguably the greatest in-ring superstar of all time has transitioned outside the ring.
00:01:35I will give you a show like you have never, ever seen before.
00:01:42Having a contract to train at the Performance Center is much different than an NXT contract.
00:01:48The PC trains hundreds of elite athletes, but only the best of the best will receive contracts to perform in NXT.
00:01:56It's a new era. Congratulations to our new champions.
00:02:02Over the past decade, the Performance Center has helped cultivate some of the biggest stars in WWE.
00:02:08Rhea Ripley's the Women's Champion!
00:02:11Damian Priest won the World Heavyweight Championship!
00:02:17And now, WWE is looking to set the bar even higher.
00:02:23Hello everybody. Shawn. Bubba. How are you?
00:02:26Hello, Mickey. Shawn, thank you so much.
00:02:28Look, as always. What's up, bub?
00:02:31How you doing? Good.
00:02:33So welcome to the WWE Performance Center.
00:02:37And one of the things we'd like to do is something that we've never done before.
00:02:43We're all very excited about it.
00:02:45We want to try to pull the curtain back and show just how amazing and unbelievable this line of work is.
00:02:52What we'd like to do is take these Performance Center athletes, have you train them,
00:02:58get them in the ring, have matches, and then see how they implement the feedback that you legends give them.
00:03:06So, what kind of athletes are we talking about?
00:03:09Well, look. We have close to 100 athletes here inside the Performance Center.
00:03:14So what we've done is we've chosen 16 of our best and brightest from all walks of life, colleges from around the country.
00:03:24We've got wrestlers, football players, gymnasts, track and field stars.
00:03:29We even have Olympic gold medalists.
00:03:31What's the skill level we're going to be working with?
00:03:34Some have been here over a year. Some just walked in the door, been here a week.
00:03:39Wow.
00:03:42A week?
00:03:44Nothing like a challenge.
00:03:45Wow.
00:03:48How is this going to work?
00:03:49So what we want to do is we're going to pick two men and two women for each of you.
00:03:55All right?
00:03:56It'll be a competition, and the talent that wins, one man, one woman, will get an NXT contract.
00:04:03Wow.
00:04:05Now, that's not the only thing.
00:04:06Not just a competition between the athletes.
00:04:09It's a competition between you legends.
00:04:13Whoa.
00:04:14Because you legends will be competing.
00:04:16Don't look at me that way.
00:04:17For the first LFG Championship title.
00:04:20Oh, hey, number seven, y'all.
00:04:23It's coming for me.
00:04:25Good luck.
00:04:27Thanks, Sean.
00:04:28So obviously, I want to thank you all sincerely for volunteering to do this.
00:04:34These are talent that we believe in.
00:04:37Each and every one of you excelled at what you did in this line of work.
00:04:41And it would be our honor for you to pass that on to the next generation.
00:04:45So good luck.
00:04:47Thank you all so much.
00:04:49It all starts tomorrow.
00:04:51And in case you don't know, LFG stands for Let's F*** Go.
00:04:57Thank you, Sean.
00:04:58Let's F*** Go.
00:05:12It's day one of LFG.
00:05:14And 16 of the most promising young athletes at the WWE Performance Center have been chosen for this unique opportunity.
00:05:26All smiles to start the day.
00:05:28As Shawn Michaels makes his way to the Training Center to officially kick things off.
00:05:33All righty, boys and girls.
00:05:36All right, let's start getting over here, guys.
00:05:40Each and every one of you, as we've talked about before, are here for a reason.
00:05:45We obviously here in the Performance Center try to give you the absolute best from a training standpoint.
00:05:52And one of the things we want to also bring you is mentorship and training from some of the very best that the WWE has ever seen.
00:06:03So today, you all are going to have the opportunity to meet some unbelievable WWE legends.
00:06:13But more importantly, the people that are going to be training and mentoring you through this process.
00:06:20You'll be broken up into teams of four, each coached by a WWE legend.
00:06:25Each week, a legendary coach will be awarded a point if a member of their team is declared a standout.
00:06:31You guys, the future greats, are competing for an NXT contract.
00:06:36The first legend is a two-time Hall of Famer, Booker T.
00:06:39Booker T.
00:06:47From a wayward childhood, Booker T's storybook journey in sports entertainment is filled with championship glory as both a tag team and solo star.
00:06:56The Booker Man created a series of unforgettable rivalries with the biggest stars of his era and continues to make his mark in pro wrestling.
00:07:05Call in the action on WWE's NXT.
00:07:07Can you dig that sucker?
00:07:14How you guys doing?
00:07:18Are you all ready for this?
00:07:20I'm going to make this short and sweet, guys.
00:07:24I'm looking for the elite professional wrestler.
00:07:28This is Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet, Phantom of the Opera.
00:07:33Are you ready to go on this ride with me?
00:07:36No, no. Can I hear it one more time?
00:07:39Are you ready to go on this ride with me?
00:07:44Let's get it done. Let's get it done.
00:07:48I'm not looking for the best talent. I want the guy that's up the hungriest.
00:07:53I want the guy that wants it most.
00:07:56Your next trainer and mentor is a six-time women's champion, Mickie James.
00:08:06When we think of the most decorated women in WWE history, there are few names as incomparable as Mickie James.
00:08:14With her unique look, unorthodox style and incredible charisma, James has blasted through boundaries and become a trailblazer for women in sports entertainment.
00:08:25A storied career wrestling with and against the biggest names in the industry, Mickie James is undeniably a WWE legend.
00:08:36Yeah, I heard that you guys are the future greats and I can't wait to see how great you are.
00:08:43We're getting some real time with these talent to really help guide them and mold them. This has to be surreal for them.
00:08:52The next individual is a 24-time tag team champion and he's a WWE Hall of Famer, Bubba Ray Dudley.
00:09:06One of the true pioneers of hardcore wrestling, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley.
00:09:13The Dudley boys put the extreme in extreme championship wrestling.
00:09:19The Dudley's unique style brought a new attitude to the WWE tag team division.
00:09:25We are the best tag team in the world.
00:09:29And now Bubba is ready to pass along that knowledge and help mold the next generation.
00:09:36I'll shake your hand the day you earn the right to shake my hand.
00:09:41I'm not here to be your friend.
00:09:44I don't even want to know your first names.
00:09:47Pushing buttons is what I do.
00:09:51And when it comes to this industry, I'm Hannibal Lecter.
00:09:55My job is to help get you to the dance.
00:09:58And when it comes to this industry, I'm Hannibal Lecter.
00:10:02My job is to help get you to the dance.
00:10:05And that's it.
00:10:07This is a business.
00:10:09And the quicker you get that through your heads, the better off you'll all be.
00:10:14Good luck.
00:10:20Bubba Ray comes out.
00:10:22So I reach out my hand to shake Bubba's hand and introduce myself to this WWE legend.
00:10:26He looks at my hand and walks away.
00:10:30And I'm just like, bro, it's not that deep, dawg.
00:10:35There's not going to be any way that I can properly convey the importance of the next individual.
00:10:43Not just in the WWE as a whole, but also to me personally.
00:10:49He's going to make sure that you understand and appreciate not just this job, but again, the relationship that you have with the art form that we put inside of the squared circle.
00:11:20The next individual is very simply just one of the greatest of all time that's ever done this.
00:11:26I know him as Mark Calloway.
00:11:28You all know him as The Undertaker.
00:11:37For three decades, this WWE Hall of Famer personified aura and mystique.
00:11:43Striking terror in those who tempted fate.
00:11:46The Phenom.
00:11:48An American badass.
00:11:50A legendary win streak that may never be broken.
00:11:54Character development.
00:11:56Ring psychology.
00:11:58The Undertaker's wealth of knowledge is an invaluable asset to any performer.
00:12:12Alright, let's figure out who's playing for second now.
00:12:15I've been in this business a long time, right?
00:12:20A long time.
00:12:21I know because you've been here longer than me.
00:12:27If I'm your coach, I expect everything from you.
00:12:33And then I expect even more.
00:12:35That's how important this business is to me still.
00:12:40Lace them up tight.
00:12:41Get ready.
00:12:43Because you're about to partake in something that's going to change your world.
00:12:46Change your life.
00:12:48And it all starts today.
00:12:51So let's f***ing go.
00:12:52Alright?
00:12:55With the day's surprises in the rear view mirror,
00:12:58it was now time for these legends to get a look at the future greats
00:13:02and see what their potential proteges could do in the ring.
00:13:05I think I have a lot of money.
00:13:08I think I have a lot of knowledge to share.
00:13:12There's a lot of things that are lost from my era.
00:13:17So I have to figure out as a coach how to merge my era with today's era
00:13:23and give these kids tidbits of knowledge that maybe will take them to a different level.
00:13:29Don't take anything for granted.
00:13:34A little bit of pressure being a coach.
00:13:36I've always thrived on pressure.
00:13:38And it's funny, as soon as I arrived here to start this process,
00:13:43the competitive juice has already started flowing.
00:13:46Grab me on the headlock.
00:13:48Boom.
00:13:50Now, automatically, when it was time to go to the ropes,
00:13:53it was just...
00:13:55You started walking back.
00:13:57Pushing back.
00:13:59Right?
00:14:01It doesn't have to go overboard, but there needs to be some struggle there.
00:14:04Because it looks like a dance if you don't, right?
00:14:08When I would watch matches when I was little,
00:14:11I was terrified of The Undertaker.
00:14:13I think one time during his entrance, I might have literally peed my pants.
00:14:16I was terrified of The Undertaker.
00:14:18Yeah, man.
00:14:20Yes, you bet.
00:14:22My name is Shiloh Hill.
00:14:24I'm from Northfield, New Hampshire.
00:14:26Intellectual brutality.
00:14:28I love that description of Shiloh Hill.
00:14:30I was a starting linebacker at Stanford University.
00:14:31Earned a scholarship to Stanford to play football after playing one game.
00:14:34My dad was a big WWE fan.
00:14:37He would always be The Undertaker.
00:14:39I'd be Stone Cold Steve Austin.
00:14:41My junior year of college, he actually passed away.
00:14:44The person I look up most to in the world, he's my best friend.
00:14:46Even though his life was relatively short,
00:14:48such a full life in that short amount of time.
00:14:50Before every match I have, I literally, like,
00:14:52take a second to, like, look up and just, like,
00:14:54think about him, like, watching me.
00:14:56Got our work cut out for us.
00:14:58Yes, we do.
00:15:00It was a big rush of anxiety and just big nerves.
00:15:05Seeing the camera crew, it, like, started setting in that,
00:15:08oh, this is actually real life.
00:15:10This is happening.
00:15:12You start doing the drills,
00:15:14things that we do almost every day here,
00:15:16as soon as you start doing those with people
00:15:18like The Undertaker or, like, The Undertaker,
00:15:20it's like, oh, this is happening.
00:15:22It's like, oh, this is happening.
00:15:23As soon as you start doing those with people
00:15:25like The Undertaker or Bubba Ray watching you,
00:15:27immediately messes with your mindset.
00:15:31I like your action, man. Good action.
00:15:33Thank you, sir.
00:15:35One thing you need to do, though, is keep it a little bit more controlled.
00:15:37Controlled.
00:15:39It's like ballet. It's like ballet.
00:15:41Yes, sir.
00:15:43Control. You stored that rope to give you some balance.
00:15:45Yes, sir. Appreciate that.
00:15:47Good job. Yeah, good job.
00:15:49I'm looking for that one person with the it factor.
00:15:51That one person that commands my attention
00:15:54like they're going to have to command the spotlight
00:15:57at WrestleMania.
00:15:59Go!
00:16:03Even just standing there in the ring, I was like,
00:16:05am I standing weird?
00:16:07You know what I mean?
00:16:09Everything you did had, like, a magnifying glass on it for sure.
00:16:12On your first drop down, why did you slip?
00:16:16I was in a rush.
00:16:18You were in a rush. Good.
00:16:19At least you know why you made the mistake.
00:16:22You need to work and move within your own athletic ability.
00:16:28If you can throw a fastball 100 miles an hour,
00:16:32but you can't throw it for a strike, it's useless.
00:16:35Yeah.
00:16:37Back it down to 90 and throw consistent strikes.
00:16:40That one slip could put you in harm's way,
00:16:44could put the other wrestler in the ring in harm's way.
00:16:47Okay?
00:16:49Yeah.
00:16:51Looking around at everyone, I see that everyone has potential,
00:16:56but I don't see anyone as competition,
00:16:59and I say that very humbly.
00:17:01The only people that I'm looking at are main roster
00:17:04and the top people because that's my goal.
00:17:06That's where I'm going to be.
00:17:08The only person that can stop me is me.
00:17:12Action.
00:17:15My name's Anthony Luke. I'm from Sacramento, California.
00:17:17Grew up playing football my entire life.
00:17:20I trained mixed martial arts, boxing.
00:17:23I wrestled for seven years, amateur,
00:17:25and I'm a lifelong WWE fan.
00:17:28My girlfriend is Maxine Dupree.
00:17:30She's always been the hardest worker in the room,
00:17:32so I try to match her energy.
00:17:34I always wonder what it's like to be a superstar.
00:17:36She showed me how to take one bump.
00:17:38I took one bump, and then I ran the ropes.
00:17:40It was way harder than I thought it was going to be.
00:17:42I was like, damn.
00:17:44This is not easy, but this is what I want to do.
00:17:45This is what I've always wanted to do.
00:17:54This kid just got something.
00:17:56Anthony Luke.
00:17:58Yeah, he has something.
00:18:00You look good, man. What's your name?
00:18:02Anthony Luke.
00:18:04You look good, man. Stay on top of your game.
00:18:06Yes, sir.
00:18:08I saw a young Booker T so ambitious,
00:18:10so hungry,
00:18:12and ready to conquer the world.
00:18:16Oh, we did it.
00:18:18Even the first day, the energy in the room,
00:18:20it has to be mind-blowing for them
00:18:22to have all of these legends and these talent
00:18:24who have been where they want to go.
00:18:27Take all day and work like you should practice
00:18:29like you're playing, right?
00:18:31You can take all day and work it. You got it?
00:18:33It's always the easy stuff, though, you get hurt on.
00:18:35Yeah, I appreciate that.
00:18:38If you hang out in the middle,
00:18:40you're going to look small.
00:18:42You know why?
00:18:43Because you're going to come together
00:18:45and they're going to be like, oh, yeah, they're small.
00:18:47But if you use the whole ring
00:18:49and if you circle
00:18:51and you are like two Rams
00:18:54and when you come together,
00:18:56you explode into that boom,
00:18:58into that lock-up,
00:19:00different.
00:19:02You've made it so now people are like, holy s***.
00:19:04I'm a nobody right now
00:19:06and I want to be somebody
00:19:08and I'm honored to be sharing the same room
00:19:11as someone like Bubba Ray Dudley
00:19:13because I totally understand
00:19:15where he was coming from
00:19:17and I'm really excited for somebody
00:19:19with his coaching style.
00:19:21My name is Dani Ray.
00:19:23I am 23 years old,
00:19:25born and raised in Bethel, Connecticut.
00:19:28I'm 42.
00:19:31I have been a cheerleader my whole life.
00:19:34Started out at three years old,
00:19:36made my way to Penn State
00:19:38and was the captain there
00:19:40and I ended up in the NFL.
00:19:41I'm Dani and we're with
00:19:43the Tennessee Titans Cheerleaders.
00:19:45Cheerleading translates really well
00:19:47into wrestling, sports entertainment
00:19:49and just the industry as a whole.
00:19:51You become very well-rounded
00:19:53and not just the athleticism
00:19:55but also the performance factor.
00:19:57Wrestling's tough, but it's really fun
00:19:59and it's really rewarding
00:20:01so I'm willing to take all of it.
00:20:03Come here.
00:20:05I know what's coming.
00:20:07Hey!
00:20:09The future greats had the opportunity
00:20:11to test what they were physically
00:20:13capable of in the ring,
00:20:15but that's just one piece of the puzzle.
00:20:17The next challenge
00:20:19for these PC athletes
00:20:21would be to try and impress
00:20:23the WWE legends with their skills
00:20:25on the microphone.
00:20:27And based on both their physical
00:20:29and verbal performances today,
00:20:31the legends will choose two men
00:20:33and two women to compete
00:20:35in a match tonight
00:20:37that will hold the key
00:20:39to their LFG fate.
00:20:41We've got a lot to work with.
00:20:43Now we've got to sell tickets.
00:20:45That's the hard part.
00:20:47We've got to see who can sell some tickets.
00:20:49I say we go listen and find out.
00:20:51Let's do it.
00:20:53Let's do it!
00:20:59You've seen what the athletes
00:21:01can do in the ring.
00:21:03Now it's time for maybe
00:21:05the most entertaining part of your day
00:21:07because we get to see
00:21:09what they've got on the mic.
00:21:11We want to buy a ticket
00:21:13to see them work.
00:21:15A superstar's ability
00:21:17to captivate an audience
00:21:19with their promo skills
00:21:21is absolutely paramount
00:21:23to their success in WWE.
00:21:25You broke my heart,
00:21:27but now I'm going to break you.
00:21:29And these four legends
00:21:31were truly masters of the craft.
00:21:33If any of you people
00:21:35had any guts,
00:21:37you'd jump that guard rail
00:21:39and get in the ring
00:21:41with your boy.
00:21:43Sometimes
00:21:45it is hell
00:21:47trying to get to heaven.
00:21:50You're going for a ride
00:21:52in your life, sucker!
00:21:54Let's get to it.
00:21:56Let's see the first future great.
00:21:58She is a 2020
00:22:00Olympic gold medalist,
00:22:02Tyra Mae Steele.
00:22:04TMS!
00:22:06Who is Tyra Mae Steele?
00:22:08Well, an Olympic gold medalist
00:22:09and world champion.
00:22:11I'm flexing, but not flexing, okay?
00:22:13There's nothing wrong
00:22:15with a little flex, okay?
00:22:17This gold medal,
00:22:19it has opened so many doors.
00:22:21I was able to get my mom a food truck.
00:22:23Somebody gave me a car for free.
00:22:25And it brought me
00:22:27to freaking WWE.
00:22:29This is so freaking surreal!
00:22:31Let's go!
00:22:34Hi, you guys.
00:22:36How you doing, Tyra?
00:22:37I know what it's like
00:22:39to be somebody at the top of their game.
00:22:41But since I've come here,
00:22:43I would have to say I know nothing.
00:22:45I just want to inspire the world
00:22:47because I know that I have that to offer.
00:22:49And as an Olympic gold medalist,
00:22:51I can do that.
00:22:53And with that being said,
00:22:55Tyra Mae Steele, out!
00:22:57I want to know what you're going to do
00:22:59in the wrestling ring.
00:23:01I know what you've done
00:23:03in the Olympic world.
00:23:05Otherwise, I don't know
00:23:07what you're going to do.
00:23:09Thank you guys for your criticism.
00:23:11I really appreciate it.
00:23:13I'll take it all.
00:23:15I'll drown in it with love.
00:23:17I'm not kidding.
00:23:19I like her.
00:23:21I do, too.
00:23:23She's funny.
00:23:25It felt very intense
00:23:27and invigorating
00:23:29all at the same time.
00:23:31It's something that I live for
00:23:33and that I haven't felt
00:23:35in a really long time.
00:23:37All right.
00:23:39Growing up,
00:23:41I was fascinated with this business.
00:23:43Like a sponge,
00:23:45I absorbed any and everything
00:23:47that was WWE.
00:23:49Instead of dreaming
00:23:51about seeing someone on TV like me,
00:23:53I made it a reality.
00:23:55I'm Jasper Troy.
00:23:57I demand my respect.
00:23:59You people better learn quick.
00:24:01This business,
00:24:03it'll be under my thumb.
00:24:05Mm-hmm.
00:24:07As to what?
00:24:09I like promos more than anything.
00:24:11That's the easy part.
00:24:13I feel like
00:24:15off the bat, if you can't do that,
00:24:17you can't do nothing.
00:24:19All right.
00:24:21Next up is a 20-year-old athlete
00:24:23from the Ukraine.
00:24:25This is Zina Sterling.
00:24:27I am sick and tired
00:24:29of everyone telling me
00:24:31to watch my back.
00:24:33I've looked.
00:24:35There's nothing there.
00:24:37You're going for the ditzy blonde.
00:24:39Yeah, kind of.
00:24:41Definitely didn't feel like a wrestling promo.
00:24:43I didn't feel it.
00:24:45I didn't buy it.
00:24:47And if I was a fan
00:24:49sitting in the audience,
00:24:51it would have been a good time
00:24:53to go to the bathroom.
00:24:55Maybe she's ditzy,
00:24:57but then has a mean streak
00:24:59somewhere in there.
00:25:01Right.
00:25:02Then it works,
00:25:04because she did stand out
00:25:05from the crowd.
00:25:07Up next is a power lifter,
00:25:09Leigh Laurel.
00:25:11She's got a good look.
00:25:13I want each and every one of you
00:25:15to understand
00:25:17what it truly means
00:25:19to be alone,
00:25:21like me,
00:25:23who had to bury two mothers
00:25:25and has a father across this world.
00:25:27Mark my words,
00:25:29you better bring your best fight,
00:25:31because I'm a canine in a cage,
00:25:33and I'm ready to rage.
00:25:35There's a promo.
00:25:40Coming in from Baton Rouge, Louisiana,
00:25:43this is Drake Moreau.
00:25:45Just know when you step into these ropes,
00:25:47you're stepping into the swamp
00:25:49with Drake Moreau.
00:25:51And when they ring that bell,
00:25:53they may never see you later,
00:25:55alligator.
00:25:57The only critique,
00:25:59just make it yours.
00:26:01Make it yours a little more,
00:26:03and I think you're going to be on point.
00:26:05I'm going to take her this Friday.
00:26:07That's a big toe, that's a big man.
00:26:09But with that said,
00:26:11there's new blood
00:26:13out in these waters.
00:26:15I'm a shark,
00:26:17and I'm ready to show you that.
00:26:19I don't feel like you believed it.
00:26:21You didn't believe it.
00:26:23You didn't believe that.
00:26:25Believe your own bull****,
00:26:28otherwise I won't,
00:26:30we won't, they won't.
00:26:32Yes, sir.
00:26:33I felt like at first, you know,
00:26:35he was testing my gangster,
00:26:37he was testing my swag a little bit, no cap.
00:26:39It's tough love, but it's all love.
00:26:41But I see the criticism that he gave me,
00:26:43and my next promo,
00:26:45I'll show him that I can do that.
00:26:47He wants intensity, I'll give him intensity.
00:26:49All right, next up,
00:26:51this is his first week here,
00:26:53Elijah Holyfield.
00:26:55Let's get one thing straight.
00:26:57When I step into this ring,
00:26:59I bring pain and destruction
00:27:01to anyone standing in my way.
00:27:03That's not someone's footsteps.
00:27:05That's not my style.
00:27:07I'm here to dominate,
00:27:09and every single one of you knows
00:27:11it's Holyfield's time now.
00:27:13I always look at it from a relatability point.
00:27:15What is the one guarantee
00:27:17that you have going for you
00:27:19that would make these people know who you are?
00:27:21My dad's name.
00:27:23Your last name.
00:27:25Yes, sir.
00:27:26Not your dad's name, your last name,
00:27:28because you probably don't want to rely on your dad, right?
00:27:30Yes, that's why I didn't bring that.
00:27:31But your last name is known, right?
00:27:35Yes, sir.
00:27:37So, Elijah Holyfield,
00:27:39wake me up just so I know who you are,
00:27:42but then get away from it
00:27:44and make it all about you.
00:27:46Yes, sir.
00:27:48Good job.
00:27:50Thank you, guys.
00:27:52What's your first promo?
00:27:54I'm excited.
00:27:56Nothing but love for the success
00:27:58of the rookie's first promo,
00:27:59and what a seasoned member of the Performance Center
00:28:01can bring to the stage.
00:28:03So, there's one thing
00:28:05I want you all to know about Shiloh Hill.
00:28:07It's that no matter where I go,
00:28:09what I do,
00:28:11or who I'm up against,
00:28:13I always have the exact same plan.
00:28:15Step one, hit them.
00:28:17Step two, hit them harder.
00:28:19Step three, repeat step two.
00:28:22I mean, look, I don't think it's that complicated.
00:28:24I don't think it's some big genius plan,
00:28:26but I didn't come here to WWE to prove that I'm a genius.
00:28:27I came here to prove I'm the toughest,
00:28:29and for Shiloh Hill,
00:28:31I think it's about time to hit him.
00:28:33I like it.
00:28:35At least he's got a plan.
00:28:37He's got a plan.
00:28:39Yeah, but damn it, I want to see a promo.
00:28:41All right, all right.
00:28:43A wrestling promo.
00:28:45Make me a challenge.
00:28:47Challenge somebody.
00:28:49Booker T's ass tonight.
00:28:51Yes, sir.
00:28:53Booker T, with all due respect,
00:28:55I think it's real easy to sit there
00:28:57and say you still like to go there,
00:28:59so next Tuesday on NXT,
00:29:01I'm going to take you there,
00:29:03and I'm going to bring you to where I like to go
00:29:05so you can look me in my eyes
00:29:07and see if you like what you see
00:29:09so we can get to know each other, Booker.
00:29:11All right, all right.
00:29:13Okay.
00:29:15All right.
00:29:17See, that's what I'm talking about.
00:29:19So why the sugary sweet dog shit
00:29:21that you gave us in the beginning?
00:29:23I guess I want to show a little range
00:29:25so I can do kind of both sides and stuff.
00:29:27Both of those in that first promo.
00:29:29Show me high, number one.
00:29:31High, number two.
00:29:33High, number three.
00:29:35And then boom.
00:29:37I like that.
00:29:39Wow.
00:29:41Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha.
00:29:43Good job, man.
00:29:47Yeah, that was enjoyable.
00:29:51That kid's going to do something right there.
00:29:53I like it.
00:29:55Yep.
00:29:57But coming up,
00:29:59someone who typically lets his athletic skills
00:30:01do the talking.
00:30:03Hit a combine recently,
00:30:05and I showed out.
00:30:07I got number one all-time 10-yard sprint,
00:30:09number one all-time peak power,
00:30:11number one vert,
00:30:13but this is a bad day.
00:30:15Number one all-time broad jump,
00:30:17absolute strength,
00:30:19and then relative strength.
00:30:21That's also me too, number one.
00:30:23Physically, I think I have everything in a bag,
00:30:25but talking on the mic,
00:30:27so hopefully I can get some advice
00:30:29from one of these legends
00:30:31and put it all together.
00:30:35When you take a look into my eyes
00:30:37or take a glance at me from head to toe,
00:30:39tell me, what do you see?
00:30:41Man, I see a physical specimen,
00:30:43a feral beast.
00:30:45You can look in that weight room
00:30:47and see I hold every record we have,
00:30:49but you all get so wrapped up in my physical traits,
00:30:51you don't know it's what you can't see.
00:30:53That's what really sets me apart.
00:30:55I was gifted in body and mind.
00:30:57I am Troy Yearwood,
00:30:59and I am the next big thing in NXT.
00:31:02All right.
00:31:06I didn't believe it.
00:31:08Well, I...
00:31:10No, no, I mean,
00:31:12I'm from the street,
00:31:16and you carry a certain air about yourself
00:31:18when you're from the street.
00:31:20You can tell by the way a man walk
00:31:23if you want to confront him or not.
00:31:25You talk like you was reading a script.
00:31:28Bubba, I want to fight you just on general principle.
00:31:31And I can beat you.
00:31:33Because I would kick your ass in front of everybody
00:31:35and send you home,
00:31:37and your pro wrestling career would be over.
00:31:39That's how much I do not believe in you.
00:31:41I see this, and then you talk,
00:31:43and I'm like, get the fuck out of my ring.
00:31:45Honestly, I actually see a lot in you.
00:31:51And I think you've got something special.
00:31:53I agree 1,000% with what they said.
00:31:55I don't believe it in here yet,
00:31:57and we got to figure out
00:31:59how to make you believe it in here.
00:32:01Yes, ma'am.
00:32:02That's it.
00:32:05They didn't like my promo.
00:32:07They didn't believe that I was believable.
00:32:09And I always take it, you know,
00:32:11they know what they're talking about.
00:32:13They have years in the game.
00:32:15They have skin in the game.
00:32:17I'm new to this, so if they say something,
00:32:19then I believe it.
00:32:21That's what I got to work on.
00:32:23But it's a learning experience.
00:32:25We're going to be able to show that.
00:32:27People that can show that the truest
00:32:29are the ones that connect.
00:32:34I need some whiskey.
00:32:38While the legends share a laugh,
00:32:40the vibes backstage took on a more serious tone.
00:32:43I'm excited.
00:32:45I've been hearing that they've asked a couple people
00:32:47to do ones on the fly,
00:32:49and I know Bubba's sitting right there
00:32:51and after what happened this morning,
00:32:53I'm hoping they ask me,
00:32:55with tension rising,
00:32:57things were about to get taken up a notch
00:32:59on LFG.
00:33:07I have to go Simon Cowell on somebody.
00:33:11I'm warmed up now.
00:33:13All right, here we go.
00:33:15Are you ready?
00:33:17I am ready.
00:33:19I've already earned my accolades.
00:33:21Cheerleading world champion,
00:33:23professional cheerleader for the Tennessee Titans.
00:33:25Put your energy into this ring.
00:33:27Legends.
00:33:29Future greats.
00:33:31This right here is not a prediction.
00:33:33This is a guarantee.
00:33:36In college,
00:33:38I fell in love with working with dead people,
00:33:40and I recently just finished an internship
00:33:42with a crime scene unit.
00:33:44I have literally pulled bodies from rivers,
00:33:46cut them open,
00:33:48held their organs in my bare hands,
00:33:50and stitched them together.
00:33:52This is your expertise, bro.
00:33:53This is my wheelhouse.
00:33:57I stand here,
00:33:59chest up,
00:34:01shoulders back,
00:34:03head held high.
00:34:05And for those who do not know,
00:34:07the woman that stands before you,
00:34:09she is known as tat.
00:34:11As tough.
00:34:13As...
00:34:15Up next is a college pro rugby player
00:34:17from Seattle, Washington.
00:34:19This is Panina Twilepa.
00:34:21I ain't like you pretenders to my left.
00:34:24And I for sure ain't like you wannabes on the right.
00:34:27Hell no.
00:34:29I don't play.
00:34:31I keep telling y'all that.
00:34:33Go play with the kids, don't play with me.
00:34:35I really don't know what takes over me when I do promos.
00:34:37In my head, I think of the camera
00:34:39as the most disrespectful girl I've ever met in my life.
00:34:42If you think you got what it takes
00:34:44to go against P-Nasty,
00:34:46then come get your issue.
00:34:48Okay.
00:34:49Okay, P-Nasty.
00:34:51I thought it was right on point.
00:34:53I see in the next six months,
00:34:55man, the sky could be the limit for you.
00:34:57That's my pick.
00:34:59I appreciate that.
00:35:01It was a promo.
00:35:03And it was a badass promo.
00:35:05I enjoyed it.
00:35:07Good job.
00:35:11P-Nasty was able to knock it out of the park.
00:35:13And next through the curtain
00:35:15would be Braden B.J. Ray,
00:35:17a future great who was chomping at the bit
00:35:19with these ladies.
00:35:21Oh, you want to see these pretty blue eyes?
00:35:23I got you.
00:35:25Let me put these glasses in my pocket real quick.
00:35:27My name's Braden Ray,
00:35:29aka Sexy B.J. Ray,
00:35:31a West Coast gangster.
00:35:33I'm 25 years old and from Southern California, Anaheim.
00:35:35I was a Division I wrestler at Duke University.
00:35:37I wasn't too familiar with the WWE
00:35:39before I received my tryout opportunity.
00:35:41When I went out there, I was like,
00:35:43whoa, this is a lot.
00:35:45But as soon as I saw what was going on,
00:35:47met with the coaches, was running the ropes,
00:35:49I was just like,
00:35:51I just can't do this.
00:35:53All right, gang is here.
00:35:55You're chilling. Are you ready?
00:35:57Ready to rock and roll.
00:35:59Okay.
00:36:01So a few weeks ago, I got kicked in the head
00:36:04and all I'm hearing is,
00:36:06he got knocked out by a girl.
00:36:11I have a message for you.
00:36:13You got Snapchat.
00:36:14Yeah, man.
00:36:16Whoo.
00:36:18What was that?
00:36:20What's that?
00:36:22What was that?
00:36:24What's that?
00:36:26What you just did, Doreen.
00:36:28That wasn't a promo, was it?
00:36:30I would like to think it was a promo.
00:36:32Look here.
00:36:34I want to hear a real promo, all right?
00:36:36Just say, for instance, you was in a fight with Bubba Ray.
00:36:38Got you.
00:36:40And you had to whoop Bubba Ray's ass.
00:36:42I got a promo.
00:36:44You got 60 seconds.
00:36:46Are you ready?
00:36:48I'm ready.
00:36:50Go.
00:36:52You know, when I first got here to this LFG or whatever is going on in this place,
00:36:54I reached out my hand to Bubba to shake his hand.
00:36:56I felt completely disrespected.
00:36:58So, Bubba, here's the reality.
00:37:00I'm not going to sit here like one of these little soy boys
00:37:02with my tail tucked between my legs.
00:37:04Oh, Bubba, so nice to meet you.
00:37:06You're such a legend.
00:37:08Nah, bro, I ain't about that.
00:37:10I'm about showing respect.
00:37:14I like that a lot better.
00:37:16That was considerably better.
00:37:18Much better.
00:37:20That was really good.
00:37:22Yeah, sir.
00:37:24I'm talking, you're not.
00:37:26As if you had some kind of legit issue with me.
00:37:28Well, yeah, the second one is just real.
00:37:30What issue do you have with me?
00:37:32I just think you're a bully.
00:37:34Just how you treated me, with complete disrespect.
00:37:36I was never a bully to you.
00:37:38Because I don't want to become too familiar with you
00:37:40or anybody else
00:37:42until you win the competition
00:37:44and you earned the right.
00:37:46Yeah.
00:37:48Why are you smiling now?
00:37:50Your nervous tics are giving you away so much.
00:37:52It's not a nervous tic.
00:37:54See, not only am I a successful professional wrestler,
00:37:56I'm a professional psychologist and poker player.
00:37:58Yeah.
00:38:00And all your tics are completely showing.
00:38:02Look at you, Bubba, on your high horse.
00:38:04This is not a high horse.
00:38:06I have more Hall of Fames and I have more championships
00:38:08than you have shower time.
00:38:10Cool, I'm glad that defines you, Bubba.
00:38:12So I'm glad what you think
00:38:14is going to work for you, you're doing.
00:38:16So maybe you want to think about
00:38:18the attitude moving forward
00:38:20during this show.
00:38:22Alright, I'll chew on it.
00:38:24Alright.
00:38:26Anyone else?
00:38:28Next!
00:38:32Hold on, bud.
00:38:34Get back in here.
00:38:40Are you kidding me?
00:38:42Are you kidding me right now?
00:38:44I'm just having fun.
00:38:46You're having fun?
00:38:48You're risking
00:38:50everything that you potentially have
00:38:54to be a smartass.
00:38:56That sounds like a good idea?
00:39:00I have wrestling boots older than most of these kids.
00:39:02If I get upset,
00:39:04it's not because I'm upset with them personally.
00:39:06I want them to be better
00:39:08and I want them to get it.
00:39:10I'm not pulling your card
00:39:12or anything, I'm asking you a serious question.
00:39:14Yeah.
00:39:16That seemed like a good idea.
00:39:18The reason I ripped that promo off the fly like that
00:39:20is because that's how I really felt.
00:39:22And I'm glad that it came across real.
00:39:24That's what a promo's supposed to come across like.
00:39:26Undertaker steps in
00:39:28and he's like,
00:39:30he's like,
00:39:32do you really think this is a good idea?
00:39:34Coming out here
00:39:36and acting like this?
00:39:38You want me to lie?
00:39:40No, I want you to have common sense.
00:39:42You're good.
00:39:44Cool. Thank you, guys.
00:39:52I love it.
00:39:54I love it, man.
00:39:56Can we book a match now?
00:39:58He's loaded with talent.
00:40:00Yeah.
00:40:02Second one was good, second promo was good.
00:40:04He's loaded with talent.
00:40:06He's going to f*** it up.
00:40:08I need some water, man.
00:40:10He knows how to tick people off
00:40:12and if you have that confidence
00:40:14and you show you have confidence,
00:40:16it could take you far,
00:40:18but it could also be your demise.
00:40:20Westside gangster, man.
00:40:22You can't tell that man nothing.
00:40:24Let's keep going.
00:40:26This is her very first week.
00:40:28Serena Linton.
00:40:30You ready? You good?
00:40:32I'm ready.
00:40:34Okay, coming to you in three.
00:40:36I was born a warrior.
00:40:38I never had an easy life.
00:40:40At just 16 years old,
00:40:42my father,
00:40:44the man who loves me,
00:40:46was deported.
00:40:48He was deported.
00:40:50He was deported.
00:40:52He was deported.
00:40:54Was deported.
00:40:56Taken from me.
00:41:00I know what it's like to have everything
00:41:02you love
00:41:04taken.
00:41:06So to all the women
00:41:08in the WWE,
00:41:10I'm going to take everything
00:41:12you love.
00:41:14La Sirenita
00:41:16will be a champion.
00:41:18Who got deported?
00:41:20My father.
00:41:22How did that make you feel?
00:41:24Like I lost everything.
00:41:26Are you close with your dad?
00:41:28How close? Very close.
00:41:30My best friend.
00:41:32Tell me about the moment that you
00:41:34found out that your dad was deported.
00:41:36It was on my
00:41:38birthday. You found out that
00:41:40your dad was deported on your birthday?
00:41:42Yeah, immigration came and got him the morning of my birthday.
00:41:44Did you watch him get taken away? Yes, sir.
00:41:46Do you see what
00:41:48I was just able to do for you or not?
00:41:50You brought out emotion in me.
00:41:52Now bring it out on your own.
00:41:54Tap into that
00:41:56on your own.
00:41:58Good job.
00:42:04Being completely vulnerable
00:42:06with my story and sharing that
00:42:08to people that I idolize is
00:42:10a very powerful moment for me and
00:42:12obviously you saw it brought a lot of
00:42:14tears, but they're all good tears.
00:42:16It comes from a lot of passion.
00:42:18As the promo
00:42:20portion of the day comes to a close,
00:42:22emotions clearly pouring
00:42:24out at the Performance Center.
00:42:26But next up, the WWE
00:42:28Legends round up the class and
00:42:30select the four most worthy
00:42:32to perform in a match
00:42:34tonight.
00:42:36All right, everybody, based on your
00:42:38in-ring and promo skills that you've
00:42:40shown here today,
00:42:42the Legends have made their decisions.
00:42:44Thank everybody for the effort.
00:42:46And we're going to make some
00:42:48announcements here. We'll get this thing
00:42:50kicked off for the
00:42:52females. Danny
00:42:54Sikowski
00:42:56versus
00:42:58Tyra Mae Steel.
00:43:08All right, for the men, the first
00:43:10match will be
00:43:12Shiloh Hill
00:43:14versus
00:43:16Anthony Luke.
00:43:22All right, with that, the four of you
00:43:24are asked to stay. The rest of you
00:43:26are dismissed.
00:43:28All right, guys, so the cool thing
00:43:30that we didn't tell you just yet,
00:43:32the top male, the top female
00:43:34after the matches,
00:43:36you're going to get to choose your mentors.
00:43:38With the matches set for day
00:43:40one of LFG, the four competitors
00:43:42meet with their coaches, quickly
00:43:44starting preparation.
00:43:46You're the heel. You're the good guy.
00:43:48Let your emotions show.
00:43:50It's day one of
00:43:52LFG. Let's
00:43:54go.
00:43:56The following contest
00:43:58is scheduled for one fall.
00:44:02Introducing first,
00:44:04from Northfield,
00:44:06New Hampshire,
00:44:08weighing in
00:44:10at 245
00:44:12pounds,
00:44:14Shiloh
00:44:16Hill.
00:44:20I was super, super close
00:44:22to my dad. He was like my best friend in the
00:44:24world, so to imagine him
00:44:26looking at me doing a wrestling match
00:44:28in front of The Undertaker is
00:44:30absolutely insane. Part of me is
00:44:32like, I wish I could call him and tell him, like, guess what
00:44:34I did today, but the other part is like, he
00:44:36has front row seats and thinks that it's
00:44:38crazy just like I do.
00:44:50And his opponent
00:44:52from Sacramento,
00:44:54California, weighing
00:44:56in at 238
00:44:58pounds,
00:45:00Anthony
00:45:02Lowe.
00:45:04What a way to
00:45:06kick off legends and future
00:45:08greats.
00:45:14Welcome back to
00:45:16LFG. There's the belt.
00:45:18Vic Joseph, the voice of NXT, along
00:45:20with Jeremy Borash.
00:45:22So much at stake. The one
00:45:24who impresses the legends the most
00:45:26will get to pick their
00:45:28legend.
00:45:30I don't know what I've done. I've actually worked on Jeremy.
00:45:32Oh my gosh, yeah.
00:45:34Oh, are you kidding me?
00:45:36I was nervous wrecking.
00:45:38Jeremy, that's actually a great point because
00:45:40you're not just doing it in front of your peers, that's
00:45:42hard enough, but then when you see, you know,
00:45:44Hall of Famers sitting out there, Mickie James
00:45:46covering a kick out, Mickie James is sitting
00:45:48out there, Bubba Ray Booker T
00:45:50right there, I mean, that's just got to be
00:45:52nerve wracking. Absolutely, you mentioned
00:45:54Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker
00:45:56there, mentioning Harley Race, what it would
00:45:58be like for them to have the chance
00:46:00early in their careers to work in front
00:46:02of those legends. This is the very same scenario.
00:46:04Shiloh Hill, Anthony Luke
00:46:06trying to make an impression
00:46:08before our legends and their
00:46:10peers. I got a question for you though, which legend would
00:46:12you pick, truthfully?
00:46:14I mean, you got to go with
00:46:16you got to go with Taker right out of the gate, right?
00:46:18That's the instinctual first pick, but
00:46:20Booker T, so much experience teaching
00:46:22and performing. Bubba Ray,
00:46:24same thing. Mickie James, same thing.
00:46:26That's what it was.
00:46:28I'd have to pick Booker just so he doesn't
00:46:30yell at me Tuesdays on NXT,
00:46:32but Hill showing some strength, Luke right there
00:46:34and a nice neck breaker as well, 6'4",
00:46:36240 is what Luke stands
00:46:38and does he have a leg up, so to speak
00:46:40because of his relationship with
00:46:42Monday Night Raw's Maxine Dupree.
00:46:46He's supposed to heal.
00:46:48He's supposed to heal.
00:46:50He's not cheated once, everything's been
00:46:52clean.
00:46:54But I don't know how you're going to get somebody
00:46:56behind your baby face if you're not willing to
00:46:58get any heat. Fair enough.
00:47:00Interesting comments from our
00:47:02legends, yeah, but Maxine Dupree's the
00:47:04real reason Anthony Luke is here in the first place
00:47:06in the sense that her
00:47:08tryout brought along his tryout
00:47:10and now they're both here at WWE, but you can sense
00:47:12some frustration from Mickie James
00:47:14and the legends in this match so far.
00:47:16Seems like
00:47:18more than the person ahead to the side
00:47:20than the one behind.
00:47:24And it's that insight that we're hearing
00:47:26from our legends. You can see the eyes of
00:47:28Booker T. Is frustration maybe settling in
00:47:30more for the legends than those that are actually
00:47:32in the ring?
00:47:34Well, it's frustration because they want this advice
00:47:36to be implemented into their matches. They want to see
00:47:38the results of their wisdom being put forth.
00:47:40And so far, both
00:47:42men doing a great job, but...
00:47:44It's like when we hand you the keys to the car
00:47:46and go drive it, we're giving you... I mean, the legends
00:47:48we're looking at have forgotten more about this business
00:47:50than myself and the superstars in the ring
00:47:52are ever going to know.
00:47:54Ducking the elbow for a moment. He'll just take it
00:47:56down. Roll through though. Nice job
00:47:58and pull the feet out of the rope.
00:48:00Wow. Win for
00:48:02Anthony Luke. And is this what the
00:48:04legends wanted out of this matchup? We're going to
00:48:06hear from the legends and
00:48:08bottom line, winner will pick
00:48:10their coach for the season coming up.
00:48:12His energy level wasn't as high
00:48:14obviously tonight as it was
00:48:16earlier during the day.
00:48:18He was like, I don't know
00:48:20somebody's got to go through the motions, right?
00:48:22Coming up, Hill or Luke, who
00:48:24will have the opportunity to select their
00:48:26mentor throughout this entire process?
00:48:32Alright, hello gentlemen.
00:48:34Shiloh.
00:48:36I want you guys to understand
00:48:38that this is not a job
00:48:40about winning and losing. It's about
00:48:42the performance that we have inside
00:48:44this ring. It's about
00:48:46connecting with the people.
00:48:48The legends here today are going
00:48:50to be voting on
00:48:52the standpoint of, do they see
00:48:54the potential for either one of you?
00:48:56That's one thing about this business. First
00:48:58impression could be your
00:49:00last impression.
00:49:02Anthony, when you came out
00:49:04everything felt like it was rocking.
00:49:06You actually
00:49:08did everything right as far
00:49:10as going up to the top rope, letting everybody
00:49:12see that million dollar smile, that million
00:49:14dollar body. Both of you guys
00:49:16did a hell of a job. But Anthony stood
00:49:18out just a little bit more.
00:49:20Mickey, what
00:49:22are your feelings on the men's match?
00:49:24I knew who the heel in the baby face was
00:49:26coming out to the ring
00:49:28and then the bell rung
00:49:30and I got a little confused.
00:49:32You never did anything heelish
00:49:34actually in the match.
00:49:36You never cheated until the finish.
00:49:42It's really hard for your baby face to overcome
00:49:44odds if you're just stronger
00:49:46than him, faster than him, smarter
00:49:48than him, and then you still beat
00:49:50him. For that reason
00:49:52I'm going to go with Shiloh.
00:49:54So we have one a piece
00:49:56right now. Bubba, what say
00:49:58you? You guys did a good job
00:50:00and I wish I could say
00:50:02a better word than good.
00:50:04When it came to the both of you
00:50:06I saw things that I liked
00:50:08and I'm going to
00:50:10say something to you right now that I hope
00:50:12does not go to your head.
00:50:14In some of your movements
00:50:18I saw a guy named Dwayne Johnson.
00:50:22That confidence right there
00:50:24that's what I'm going to give the edge
00:50:26to you Anthony.
00:50:28Shiloh,
00:50:30your match starts as soon as
00:50:32you walk through those doors.
00:50:34Anthony comes in, you got everybody fired up
00:50:36everybody's involved in it
00:50:38and you're just kind of standing there
00:50:40you're always working
00:50:42people are always watching, even when you think
00:50:44they're watching him, there's some people that are watching
00:50:46you. You need to project
00:50:48I'm about to whoop this guy's ass.
00:50:50I see nothing but great things
00:50:52for both of you, but I'm
00:50:54going to have to go with Anthony on this one.
00:50:58I was kind of nervous
00:51:00I was kind of stressed
00:51:02how do I choose between four of
00:51:04the greatest wrestlers of all time?
00:51:06After getting the three to
00:51:08one nod from the legends, Anthony
00:51:10now had a difficult decision to make.
00:51:12And while he pondered his coaching
00:51:14options, the women got set
00:51:16for their match.
00:51:18To have this be a moment that I can
00:51:20capitalize on, I'm going to
00:51:22seize it.
00:51:28There you see the legends looking on
00:51:30for our next matchup.
00:51:34The following contest
00:51:36is scheduled for one fall.
00:51:38Introducing first
00:51:40from Stanford, Connecticut
00:51:42Danny
00:51:44Sikielski
00:51:46You heard
00:51:48the legends talking about being
00:51:50a heel a little bit earlier.
00:51:52I think we're looking at a big baby face with his bubbling
00:51:54personality. Certainly, former Titans
00:51:56cheerleader Danny Sikielski now
00:51:58enters this matchup only three
00:52:00months in here at the Performance
00:52:02Center, already a standout
00:52:04performer.
00:52:08And her opponent
00:52:10from Houston, Texas
00:52:12Tyra
00:52:14Maysteel
00:52:162020
00:52:18Olympic gold medalist.
00:52:20And now I bring to you
00:52:22when it comes to freestyle wrestling in Tokyo
00:52:24when she won that gold medal
00:52:26is there more pressure on
00:52:28her because of that distinction
00:52:30with someone like Kurt Angle who came before
00:52:32her? Well, it certainly raises the attention
00:52:34of anybody with those kind of credentials
00:52:36walking into this industry as
00:52:38an Olympic gold medalist in wrestling
00:52:40Tyra Maysteel
00:52:42has a huge reputation coming in
00:52:44so far has delivered
00:52:46out of the gate in her one year here at the Performance
00:52:48Center. Right off
00:52:50the bat, I almost have
00:52:52so much more charisma than the guys
00:52:54did.
00:52:56And that's an interesting
00:52:58point because you can't teach
00:53:00charisma. You certainly cannot
00:53:02but Tyra Maysteel when that bell rings
00:53:04becomes a beast. Bubbly personality
00:53:06very nice when you meet her
00:53:08but when the bell rings very similar
00:53:10to the way Kurt Angle was. Certainly
00:53:12an interesting personality but when the bell
00:53:14rings they turn into a beast almost like
00:53:16a Pavlov's dog instinct
00:53:18of hearing that bell and becoming an animal
00:53:20and so far we're seeing a good back and
00:53:22forth amount of action between these two.
00:53:24All of our legends very familiar
00:53:26with Kurt Angle.
00:53:28Nice take down.
00:53:32She looks like she's comfortable in there.
00:53:38She's got great instincts
00:53:40too.
00:53:42When we talk about Kurt Angle I mean instincts
00:53:44being comfortable it's hard
00:53:46to go from freestyle
00:53:48amateur collegiate wrestling to stepping in
00:53:50to the squared circle. Cover, count
00:53:52and a kick out. Not such a different ball game
00:53:54but it's the discipline that both of these
00:53:56athletes have as top
00:53:58level performers that they need to
00:54:00apply to what they do inside the ring
00:54:02here at the performance center.
00:54:06The Olympian turning heel.
00:54:08I feel like she is a heel.
00:54:10The Olympian did the heel, the mush first
00:54:12in the face.
00:54:16It's these kind of traits
00:54:18these personality instincts that
00:54:20the legends are going to try and find
00:54:22and bring out
00:54:24of these future greats as they
00:54:26compete for an opportunity to win a contract
00:54:28here on Legends and Future Greats
00:54:30with NXT. We'll take a look at Danny right
00:54:32now that cheerleading background from Penn State
00:54:34to the Tennessee Titans to almost
00:54:36a victory. And I don't
00:54:38know if that necessarily if you can call
00:54:40an upset would have been an upset.
00:54:42Well certainly just three months in here at the performance center
00:54:44already Danny Sikelski is
00:54:46outperforming expectations.
00:54:48I think the same could be said
00:54:50for Steele and there's a good word that you
00:54:52used earlier that I want to bring back when it comes
00:54:54to the gold medalist. Discipline.
00:54:56She is a disciplined athlete.
00:54:58She is someone who I think can take
00:55:00the tutelage from the legends and
00:55:02apply it in real time.
00:55:06You can't see her face.
00:55:10You can't see the baby's face in that kind of
00:55:12predicament where you can't see their face.
00:55:14Now these are those little things
00:55:16that these superstars learn
00:55:18week in and week out and that's why these legends
00:55:20are very crucial to that development
00:55:22over a period of time throughout this
00:55:24process. But take a look at the
00:55:26strength of Danny.
00:55:28So surprising certainly
00:55:30the package.
00:55:32What she is just a big ball of dynamite.
00:55:34Danny Sikelski now from the top
00:55:36does not connect. That might have been a mistake.
00:55:38Look at Steele making
00:55:40Danny pay. German suplex
00:55:42center of the ring.
00:55:44Here is your
00:55:46winner, Tyra
00:55:48Mae
00:55:50Steele.
00:55:54She had no training before.
00:56:04When I'm in front of those legends
00:56:06I'm giving it my all.
00:56:08I'm in there to win it.
00:56:10I'm here.
00:56:12I'm ready to work.
00:56:14With that
00:56:16intense battle over with
00:56:18it was now the ladies turn to face the legends
00:56:20and hear their decision.
00:56:22Danny
00:56:24Tyra
00:56:26Booker. Who do you see
00:56:28between
00:56:30Danny
00:56:32and Tyra? One thing about
00:56:34the match what I'm always
00:56:36looking for is
00:56:38if one person is in control when they
00:56:40are in control. Danny
00:56:42you were in total control. It seemed like
00:56:44you wasn't rushing. It seemed like you were
00:56:46feeling it. Did it look a little bit
00:56:48clean? Of course.
00:56:50That's your background. Do we need
00:56:52to dirty you up a little bit
00:56:54along this process? Of course.
00:56:56Both of you guys did a great job
00:56:58but as far as the person that I thought was
00:57:00in more control was Danny.
00:57:04Mickey. Wow.
00:57:06I agree so much with what he said
00:57:08and I was saying she needs to put some
00:57:10stank on it because it's so pretty. I know you're
00:57:12used to doing everything perfectly
00:57:14from your background.
00:57:16But you had a lot of
00:57:18stank on your stuff.
00:57:20I thought it was a good match. I thought
00:57:22y'all worked really really hard.
00:57:24If I had to pick one tonight
00:57:26it's so difficult because you guys are both here
00:57:28on me but I'd pick you Tyra.
00:57:30Yeah.
00:57:32Alright well at this point
00:57:34right now we have one a piece.
00:57:36Bubba Ray Dudley.
00:57:38Who is going to
00:57:40command that spotlight
00:57:42a little bit more than
00:57:44the other in front of
00:57:4680 to 100,000
00:57:48people?
00:57:50And by this much
00:57:52my vote goes to
00:57:54Tyra.
00:57:56Alright.
00:57:58We're looking at 2 to 1
00:58:00at this point. What do you say?
00:58:02Both of you should be very proud
00:58:04of what you just did. I think
00:58:06you guys did
00:58:08outshine the men.
00:58:10So for that, kudos.
00:58:12I love
00:58:14the amateur wrestling you do.
00:58:16You have really good instincts
00:58:18and you can't teach instincts.
00:58:20Again, I'm so impressed with both of you.
00:58:22I'm gonna have to go.
00:58:24Tyra.
00:58:30Hey, both of you.
00:58:32Absolutely.
00:58:34Good job, buddy.
00:58:36Tyra.
00:58:38So now,
00:58:40and we're gonna give you a minute here,
00:58:42you get an opportunity
00:58:44to select the person
00:58:46that you would like to
00:58:48personally train and mentor you
00:58:50throughout this process.
00:58:52Well done.
00:58:54Good job.
00:59:00I'm crying.
00:59:04Because this journey
00:59:06has been harder than I thought.
00:59:08And the fact that I get to actually
00:59:10choose a coach to help me
00:59:12figure out who I am,
00:59:14it's incredible.
00:59:16Because I was selected, I
00:59:18did get to choose my own coach
00:59:20and it was tough.
00:59:22And I was able to phone my husband.
00:59:24I'm calling you
00:59:26for your help because I
00:59:28cannot decide.
00:59:34All right.
00:59:36Tyra Mae Steele, Anthony Luke.
00:59:40You both were chosen
00:59:42as the top future greats.
00:59:44And now this is the moment of truth.
00:59:46Here we are in front of the legends
00:59:48and we want to know
00:59:50which legends you picked
00:59:52to mentor you.
00:59:54Who wants to go first?
00:59:56Do I have to pick?
00:59:58Ladies first. Okay. Tyra Mae Steele.
01:00:00Oh my gosh.
01:00:02I had to cry
01:00:04and I had to get it out.
01:00:06I had to call my husband because I honestly
01:00:08didn't know who to choose.
01:00:10If I were to have my choice, but this is just me.
01:00:12Tell me.
01:00:14I would choose the Undertaker.
01:00:18But I did make my decision
01:00:20and
01:00:28You guys are all awesome, okay?
01:00:30And I chose Undertaker.
01:00:36Can I get a hug?
01:00:42I'm a good worker.
01:00:44I got this.
01:00:46You give me what you have, I'll give you what I've got.
01:00:48And this is going to be great.
01:00:50The sky's the limit.
01:00:52Excellent choice.
01:00:54You look at the Undertaker
01:00:56and go, oh yeah,
01:00:58that's a superstar.
01:01:00And I want to figure out what that is.
01:01:02And so I chose him.
01:01:06Tyra Mae with the Undertaker.
01:01:08I'm just excited
01:01:10that she chose me.
01:01:12There is no ceiling for her.
01:01:14She could be that good.
01:01:16As a coach, you get excited.
01:01:20Mr. Anthony Luke, that leaves you.
01:01:24First of all, it's an honor
01:01:26to stand in front of you.
01:01:28Legends that I grew up on
01:01:30and watched hundreds of matches
01:01:32on each and every single one of you guys.
01:01:34Undertaker.
01:01:36The GOAT, the legend.
01:01:38It would be an honor to work with you.
01:01:40Booker T.
01:01:42I remember being a little kid,
01:01:44five times, five times,
01:01:46hitting the spin of Rooney in the living room.
01:01:48And honestly, I feel like I want to choose
01:01:50each and every single one of you,
01:01:52but stylistically
01:01:54he's the best fit for me.
01:01:58I have to choose Booker T.
01:02:00Oh, hell yeah.
01:02:12I chose Booker T.
01:02:14Because stylistically,
01:02:16and I feel like he's the best fit for me.
01:02:18The size comparison,
01:02:20the way we move in the ring.
01:02:24Can I ask you a question?
01:02:26Just one question.
01:02:28Do you really feel the need
01:02:30to wear both of your Hall of Fame rings?
01:02:32Even in the shower.
01:02:38All right.
01:02:40He said that he had practiced his whole life
01:02:42the spin of Rooney.
01:02:50Yeah, spin of Rooney!
01:02:54Spin, spin, spin!
01:02:56Yeah!
01:03:02Yeah, man!
01:03:04That's how you do it!
01:03:06Anthony spin of Rooney
01:03:08was maybe a six, maybe five and a half.
01:03:10Five and a half, six.
01:03:12Give me one week
01:03:14of working with Anthony
01:03:16and it will be flawless.
01:03:18Trust me on that.
01:03:20Okay.
01:03:22I don't want to give you one,
01:03:24but that's a three to four hour walk.
01:03:26He always says that.
01:03:28Because I don't do that, George.
01:03:30He never tried enough.
01:03:32This season on LFG.
01:03:34All right.
01:03:36Four of you made it to the finals last week.
01:03:38Now we're going to see how you all do
01:03:40in front of our live crowds.
01:03:42These 16 are about to go
01:03:44on a journey, the first chapter
01:03:46of their careers.
01:03:48When I call your name, find out which legend
01:03:50you're going to be mentored by.
01:03:52That was all
01:03:54legit. That's just them getting themselves
01:03:56worked up.
01:03:58This is going
01:04:00to concern people.
01:04:02I'm coming for it all.
01:04:04I'm here to win this thing.
01:04:08That's crazy.
01:04:10I want that to come out of you
01:04:12during the course of this match.
01:04:14Being cocky has nothing to do
01:04:16with confidence.
01:04:18This is what
01:04:20you all signed up for.
01:04:22Grab it by the throat.
