The total estimated losses and damage to residences affected by the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights on Tuesday (April 1) amount to RM65.4 mil.

Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the figure was based on assessments by a technical team led by the Fire and Rescue Department, which confirmed that 437 houses were impacted in the incident.

Of these, 81 homes were completely razed with structural damage exceeding 40%, another 81 were partially destroyed, 57 were affected but not burned, while the remaining 218 houses were found to be unaffected.

00:00The State Bomb and Rescue Department has conducted an inspection of 437 houses that have been identified as the main target of the technical team and found that we placed these houses in three categories,
00:29namely total destruction with structural fires exceeding 40%,
00:33half-destruction, structural fires less than 40% and affected but not burned.
00:40This means that from the whole, for the first category, 81 houses were identified as total destruction,
00:48while 81 more were described as half-destruction and 57 more were burned but did not have an effect on the structure.
00:57There are still 218 houses that have not been identified and we have enlarged the affected area from the first day.
01:10On the first day, the affected area was 290 m² or radius and this time it was more or less 325 m² radius.
01:28To date, 151 houses have been identified as safe and the owners of these houses have been allowed to return to their homes.
01:45There may be minor damage that needs to be taken care of.
01:52We have also decided to appoint Dato' Johari Anwar, the Chairman of the State Government Institute,
01:59who is also the Director of the State Economic Planning Unit, to oversee the entire recovery process.

02:17as well as the cost of repairing the infrastructure due to the incident.
02:24From the observation of the firefighters, we have found that the cost of repairing or repairing the damage

02:42including the cost of wiring or the cost of electricity.
02:46On the other hand, in accordance with the actions of the firefighters and our rescue teams,
02:52we have managed to save more or less Rp 285.9 million.
