00:00A construction worker's bizarre early-morning climb up a crane tower in Luyang on Monday
00:07left many both puzzled and alarmed.
00:10The man, believed to be in his 40s, claimed he was unaware of his actions, insisting
00:15he had been sleepwalking and was shocked to find himself more than 120 metres above ground.
00:21Onlookers spotted him walking along the crane's beam at a height of approximately 126 metres
00:27and immediately alerted the Fire and Rescue Services Department.
00:31Penampang Fire and Rescue Station Chief Senior Assistant Fire Officer Zeno Tinggalan said
00:37eight personnel were dispatched to the site, located three kilometres away, after receiving
00:42an emergency call shortly before 7am.
00:46In a surprising turn, the worker, who was employed at the construction site, descended
00:51safely on his own following nearly 30 minutes of persuasion.
00:56He later claimed a mysterious whispering voice had guided him to the top.
01:00The man was unharmed, and after confirming there were no further risks, the rescue operation
01:05concluded around 8am.
