अमृतसर ( पंजाब ) - नशे के खिलाफ जंग के संकल्प के साथ पंजाब के सीमावर्ती जिलों में पैदल मार्च करने के बाद पंजाब के राज्यपाल गुलाब चंद कटारिया ने अमृतसर शहर में लगातार तीसरे दिन अमृतसर जिले में पैदल मार्च का नेतृत्व किया और पंजाब के लोगों से नशे के खिलाफ जिहाद छेड़ने का आह्वान किया। उन्होंने कहा कि पंजाब की धरती जो अपनी देशभक्ति, वीरों, शहीदों और योद्धाओं की बेमिसाल कुर्बानियों के लिए जानी जाती है, उसे नशे के कारण बर्बाद नहीं होने दिया जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि दुश्मन देश से मादक पदार्थों की तस्करी जारी है लेकिन हमारी सेनाएं भी इसे पकड़ने के लिए दिन-रात काम कर रही हैं। इसके अलावा, गांवों व शहरों में जिला प्रशासन द्वारा गठित उच्च स्तरीय सुरक्षा समितियां भी इस तस्करी को रोकने के लिए काफी सजगता से काम कर रही हैं, जो सराहनीय है।
उन्होंने कहा कि वर्तमान में नशा केवल पंजाब की समस्या नहीं है, बल्कि यह पूरे देश को अपनी गिरफ्त में ले रहा है। इसीलिए पंजाब सरकार पंजाब को नशा मुक्त बनाने के लिए प्रयास कर रही है। उन्होंने कहा कि इसके अलावा बच्चों को गुरुद्वारों और मंदिरों से जोड़ना भी नशा मुक्ति के लिए एक बेहतरीन पहल हो सकती है।
