00:00To someone who was hoping to not end up in court, and that is Ed Sheeran and he has already there
00:06Yeah, although even though for him it worked out. Well also he won
00:10The lawsuit where he was accused of ripping off Marvin Gaye's. Let's get it on. I was back in 2023
00:15He right for his song thinking out loud. Well that has had a very permanent impact on Ed
00:22Obviously he shared some video
00:26That's from the studio where he's making his new single Ozzy's arm
00:30And it's just a collection of different of him and the producers like
00:35Listening the different is he showing is he filming his process now basically that is
00:40Show like hey, this is how I came to this song. I didn't steal your music
00:44Yeah, he actually said in the caption of his post. He said I film every studio session
00:49I do now since the lawsuit just to show my writing process if anyone is curious
00:54Turns out it makes for great viewing once the song is done
00:58So two birds with one stone you prevent yourself in case there would be a lawsuit in the future
01:02And if not footage that might work for a music video if you know fans would love to see this kind of thing from
01:08Yeah, this this show the whole process. It's cool content
01:11It is neat to see him come up with a he does songs because he is a talented songwriter
01:14But I hate to burst your bubble Ed this does not mean you will not get sued in the future
01:17There's a famous story of George Harrison of the Beatles his song my sweet lord was
01:22Deemed to be subconscious plagiarism for being too similar to the old 60s song
01:26He's so fine and George lost that lawsuit
01:28They said you weren't intending to rip it off, but you still did anyway, and he lost it
01:32So if it sounds there's a song we'll see you back in court Ed. Yeah
01:38Conscious yeah, I mean you're right Eric in a way
01:41The video could be used against him
01:44Once he posts it and everything if they if whoever's suing him see something in there and go like wait a second
01:49Wasn't at the moment where you were thinking about whatever
01:52But better to have the documentation I think for it's not foolproof bottom line not foolproof. It's cool content though
01:59It is cool content, especially if you're an Ed fan
02:02California I love that Ed Sheeran is now filming his studio sessions and that we get to see it firsthand
02:08And I think this lawsuit was actually beneficial for him because we can see now how creative he really is
02:14That he plays on instruments that he writes his own music
02:17And I think he's leading the way for other artists to start filming their studio sessions
02:22So overall this was beneficial and great. Yeah. Yeah, this is a
02:27Well for now, it's a win for the fans
02:29It could be a win-win if Ed ends up using it in court and which is what he's hoping he doesn't have to do
