00:00More than 100 PNP personnel in Central Visayas were trained and returned to be a stand-by electoral board in the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.

00:12In addition, a non-partisan political education group reminded voters to select the right candidates.

00:25More than 30 active members of Cebu Citizens in Maturation for People's Empowerment and Liberation, or SISIMPELCEDOROTHY.

00:35SISIMPEL is a non-partisan political education group of the Archdiocese of Cebu and has long been a supporter of COMELEC in every election.

00:44They are focused on voters' values formation and organize forums and engagements to guide voters.

00:52SISIMPEL's presence is deterrent in the polling areas, polling places.

00:58Our volunteers have undergone this voters' values formation.

01:04It is very important for them to know the mission of SISIMPEL, which is the political transformation.

01:15According to SISIMPEL, they have reached 60,000 members who will serve as non-partisan poll watchers in the voting prisons in the province of Cebu in the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.

01:27They urge their members and voters to select the right candidates.

01:34Based on the five C's, their voting, or conscience, competence, compassion, companionship, and commitment.

01:43We are forming our volunteers, not just our volunteers, but also our parishioners to follow the Christian way of choosing candidates based on our five C's,

01:56so that they will be able to choose exactly the right people to work in government.

02:03Even if the candidates that they will finally vote for are not winnable, they still have to vote for them because one good vote is a vote for good governance.

02:14Meanwhile, of the 100 PNP personnel in Central Visayas,

02:18they are under the training of COMELEC, which can function as an electoral board if needed.

02:26So they will function as if they are electors, just in case there is a lack or issue of security matters that requires the substitution of the members of the Philippine National Police that will handle the electoral process in the area.

02:41According to COMELEC Central Visayas, the trained PNP personnel can be sent if needed by additional PNP personnel in some parts of Mindanao that will serve as a backup electoral board.
