00:00Good morning to all of us. Good morning to the commissioners. I am here this morning because of the pressing issues surrounding the involvement of our operation...
00:20...where the operation was not headed by me personally. It was headed by our uniformed personnel, Captain Felipe.
00:37First and foremost, we all know that my job is not a job that requires me to be on the road every day, morning and evening.
00:56But it is not right to involve emotions. It should not be emotional in such a sense that it will get ahead of us.
01:07So this morning, I wanted to formally ask for forgiveness and of course, I also wanted to ask for forgiveness.
01:19Not only to our honorable commissioner, but also directly to Captain Felipe.
01:28Sir, if you are listening to this, I am asking for your forgiveness for what happened. It is not my intention to have such an inappropriate event.
01:44Aside from that, I also want to apologize not only to Captain Felipe, but also to the entire Philippine National Police.
01:54Once again, it is not my intention to tarnish the good reputation of the institution of the Philippine National Police.
02:01And as well as, of course, to our honorable commissioner, sir, I also want to apologize to you.
02:09I know this is a case in which we have a lot of emotions, especially when you are coming from a family of a very prospective and honorable police officer.
02:26So commissioner, once again, this is my apology that I want to formally ask for your forgiveness.
02:32And aside from that, in connection to this issue, we know that there was an incident a few weeks ago involving, once again, our operation and a group of transport group.
02:49I am very thankful to our police chief, especially to Major Robles and his two comrades, where I was helped and protected in any bodily harm that could have been caused during that incident.
03:10And aside from that, I also want to apologize to our institution, our Philippine Manila Development Authority, with what has caused or it could have damaged the image of the good agency.
03:33So this is not my intention and as I said, the emotions are not right to put in our heads and it's not the right thing to do.
03:47We should still give the respect for each other which should always be the top priority in everything.
04:00So with that, Mr. Commissioner, once again, I am asking for your forgiveness and I am asking for your forgiveness on behalf of the President.
04:07Thank you very much.
04:38It all boils down to one word, respect. Respect not just to the Philippine National Police members but maybe respect also to private individuals.
04:52We are government officials. We are not bloggers. So first and foremost is public service. First and foremost is what is good for everyone, what is good for the general public.
05:14So we should not make mistakes there. If that is our guiding post, what is right for the majority, we will not go astray.
05:27But I am appreciative of this act of Gab here. Actually, this is not the first time we met. We met sometime Saturday afternoon to the evening.
05:40We were saddened because we were hoping for an apology but that's over now. Here he is right now apologizing to all of us and to the PNP.
05:53And on behalf of all members of the PNP, Gab, we are thankful to you. Finally, you manned up and we are very thankful.
06:04And we are also thankful that you thanked the police who saved your life.
06:10That's why all emotions are layered. You were saved the day before. The next day, you thanked the PNP. All you had to say was thank you. All you had to say was sorry.
06:24And here you are right now. I salute you.
