00:00You wearing camo?
00:02I am wearing my camo.
00:03Let's go camo.
00:04You know where I got this camo?
00:06Where?
00:07You're not going to like it.
00:08Abercrombie.
00:09Walmart.
00:10Abercrombie and Fitch.
00:10No, no seriously, the Abercrombie, like PacSun,
00:15everybody's got great camo right now.
00:17It's great camo.
00:18Like what is this, what is this pattern of camo called?
00:21I don't know.
00:22It looks like, it looks like real tree of some sort.
00:25I knew you would do.
00:26Maybe.
00:27The only one I know is the name of is mossy oak
00:28and I don't even know what that looks like.
00:30Yeah, I mean, that could be mossy oak.
00:32I don't know.
00:33Usually if you look real close inside the camo,
00:35their logo is mixed in.
00:37Maybe Abercrombie made their own.
00:40They might've.
00:41Cause it's tough to license sometimes.
00:44Who knew?
00:44Who knew we'd be talking about camo
00:46this early in the morning?
00:47I feel like the last time I saw you guys,
00:48we ended up talking about how Preston drank
00:50out of a prosthetic leg
00:52and it makes me nervous where this will go today.
00:55Let's go wherever it goes.
00:57All right.
00:59So how have you guys been?
01:00Spring break.
01:01Preston, where did you just get back from?
01:02Well, you just got back from the road.
01:04Chris, where are you guys?
01:06Spring break is just happening right now where I'm at.
01:09I am actually dropping my son off
01:12at a physical therapy appointment
01:14and then we're going to the bush gardens later.
01:16Oh my God.
01:17Do you guys are going to have the best time?
01:18What's new in dad world for each of you?
01:20I feel like kids are getting big, right?
01:21All different stages of life right now.
01:23Yeah.
01:25Chris, what's the oh boy?
01:27Oh yeah, 14 year old.
01:29He's got a girlfriend,
01:31wants to be with her at spring break
01:32and I'm kind of like, I'm being dad,
01:34I got to break it up.
01:35And I mean, it's too much.
01:37They're too close.
01:38She's a good girl.
01:39He's a good kid, but it's just too close.
01:42You need, I need to know.
01:45Yeah.
01:45So he's got his friend over
01:47and I want him to just hang with him for a while.
01:49Not her.
01:51Do you remember when your dad was doing this
01:52to you as a kid?
01:55A thousand percent.
01:56A thousand percent.
01:57And I told him and I said,
01:57you're going to do the same thing.
01:58You don't understand it right now,
02:00but you're going to do the same thing.
02:01Yeah.
02:02Preston, what about you?
02:03How are the kids?
02:05Fortunately, I'm not dealing with any love stories
02:08or anything like that.
02:09Mine are nine, six and one.
02:12But the one year old's throwing me for a loop.
02:13You know, she's fun though.
02:16It's wild and chaotic,
02:18but I try to embrace the chaos
02:19and my little man's playing baseball
02:22and he's only six.
02:23So they don't take it too serious
02:25and it's fun to just watch the boys,
02:27you know, draw, you know,
02:29they're out there playing on the field
02:31and they're digging holes on the field
02:33while they're playing.
02:34And, you know, they're still just little boys,
02:36you know, so it's great though.
02:38My daughter's got the daddy-daughter dance coming up.
02:42So she's going to make her own dress this year.
02:46And so she's got her own little dress design going
02:49and she's making sure that I see the exact color.
02:54So that I can go get my suit to match her dress perfectly.
02:57So it'll be fun.
03:00You're going to shed a little tear
03:01over this moment with her?
03:02I know, I know.
03:04I'm really stoking it up,
03:07but you know, it does go by fast,
03:08especially when I watch Chris's little boy be 14 already,
03:11you know, and that goes by the snap of a finger.
03:15I know, right?
03:16Cause like when you guys probably started doing this,
03:18Chris, did you have any of the kids yet?
03:21Yeah, I had Kate and I missed so much.
03:23I mean, it's crazy how much I missed.
03:26He's a good kid though.
03:27I mean, you know, I try to be the best dad as possible.
03:31You know, and now in this,
03:33I can actually fight doing shows now
03:36cause Preston now understands it.
03:37Yeah.
03:38So, you know, and you know, he hasn't gotten the,
03:40you know, I try to make sure he doesn't miss anything.
03:43Yeah, it's definitely hard.
03:44I feel like I talked to everybody in this industry
03:46who's a dad.
03:47Like you guys are all going through the same thing.
03:49It's like a sacrifice that anybody's got to make for work,
03:51which we all understand.
03:52It really is.
03:53Yeah.
03:54Well, let's talk music and let's talk this song
03:57that's ripping up the chart right now,
03:58Home From Home.
03:59You guys wrote this together.
04:01Tell me like, what was the inspiration?
04:03Tell me about the day you sat down to write it.
04:05Yeah, we were on a Zoom call just like this
04:10and we had Zach Oven and Andy Albert on the Zoom with us.
04:15So it was a four way and it was during COVID.
04:19And so Andy had this idea about Hometown Home.
04:21He says, man, I got this idea for a hometown song.
04:23We're like, oh, another hometown song.
04:25Yeah, they work,
04:26but do we want to write another hometown song?
04:29You know?
04:30And so he said, just hear me out.
04:31So Andy always has great ideas.
04:34And Andy said, the idea is, you know,
04:37we could go anywhere to start a new life
04:39with the person you love,
04:40but what about right here in this hometown?
04:42I mean, let's plant our roots right here
04:44because this is a great hometown.
04:47And so we were like, okay, that kind of sounds cool.
04:49And so we started chasing that idea.
04:52And it was right around the time
04:53where people were renting RVs
04:56and, you know, taking Winnebago's around
05:01and enjoying the US, you know, and just driving around
05:04because there was nothing else to do in our country.
05:06And so during the pandemic,
05:08and so we wanted to put Winnebago in the song somehow.
05:11And we're like, let's put that in there.
05:14But I mean, not a lot of words rhyme with Winnebago.
05:18And so Chris likes to always say,
05:20Lego my ego, kind of does, you know, but-
05:23It could have worked.
05:24It just didn't put it in.
05:26Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:27So anyway, at the tail end of the second verse,
05:31we finally got Winnebago in there.
05:33And it was fun.
05:35It was a fun day writing the song.
05:36And we had no idea we were writing such a big song
05:39that was going to connect with so many folks.
05:42I mean, you try to, you try to make every line count,
05:45but then all of a sudden, like you said,
05:48it's a big old hit and we're sitting
05:50at the top of the chart.
05:52And it just doesn't even seem like
05:54it's feeling old to anyone.
05:56I mean, no one's tired of it yet.
05:58I mean, it's just one of those songs.
06:00I think it might be one of our biggest hits in 10 years.
06:02I mean, it's crazy.
06:03So we're really fired up about it
06:06and just glad that it worked.
06:08Good, I'm so glad.
06:09And then you guys have released
06:10two different versions of this song.
06:12Well, I guess it's three total, but two new ones,
06:14the wedding cake version and the front porch mix.
06:18Talk about these two versions of the song.
06:21The front porch mix is just a little acoustic,
06:24you know, just a laid back acoustic version.
06:26No big drums, no big, you know,
06:29strings or anything like that.
06:31And the wedding mix was Preston's idea.
06:33He was sitting there and he played it for me and he goes,
06:36dude, I feel like this is like a wedding song
06:39if we put these keys in.
06:40And I'm like, I don't know, let me hear it.
06:41They played it for me.
06:42I was like, okay, it's pretty awesome.
06:44Yeah, it really is.
06:45It turned out great.
06:47My favorite part of it is called the wedding cake mix.
06:49And I like Wheel of Fortune, beginning and endings.
06:53And so, you know, I was like wedding cake and cake mix.
06:57And so it was like, okay, this is kind of cool.
06:59So it's wedding cake mix.
07:01I like that.
07:02Isn't that kind of fun?
07:03Yeah, so I don't think anybody got it like I did,
07:07but you know, I was like, hey, wedding cake mix.
07:11They will now.
07:12The rest of the Wheel of Fortune crowd's like, yeah.
07:15I mean, check it out just for that reason alone.
07:17You know?
07:18It's not bad, man.
07:19I think it's a good job of it.
07:21No, very clever.
07:22I love that.
07:23I love a play on words.
07:24Like I'm all about a pun or something,
07:26sneaking that in anywhere you can,
07:27like how you pick out Winnebago in the song.
07:30Just announced yesterday, the new album,
07:33Bet the Farm, gonna be out April 18th.
07:36Talk about this album.
07:37What are some highlights?
07:37What are you guys most excited for?
07:40I think every song on this album is a hit.
07:43And I mean, it takes a lot for me to say that
07:46because we go through so many songs
07:48and you know, we pick the best songs.
07:49Not all of these songs were written by us.
07:51You know, Kane Brown has a couple in there without us.
07:54And we just picked the best song.
07:56And I think, you know, we've always been those positive guys.
08:01The music where it brings you up,
08:02makes you smile, makes you relate.
08:04And we try to do that with every song.
08:06There's one song on there called Neon Girl,
08:09which is the opposite of what we usually go for.
08:12But that was written by Kane.
08:14And it's about, don't chase that girl.
08:16I'm warning you, don't chase that girl.
08:18It's a neon girl.
08:20So it's brilliant,
08:21but it's the only song we've ever said like,
08:25that we're not going, oh, I love you so much.
08:27You're the best girl in the world.
08:28I know somebody.
08:29Ring on every finger.
08:30This is the only difference.
08:32But it's written so well.
08:34And I think we had a great performance of it
08:36and Kane gave the approval.
08:37And, you know, and I believe he's going to be on it
08:41to our deluxe album that comes out.
08:43So.
08:44You know, and the guy's not the one,
08:46the guy's still not the one breaking the heart
08:47in that song.
08:48No, he's not.
08:49So he's more of the dramatic.
08:51It still has that positive edge, you know.
08:53It's a warning though.
08:55It's just a warning.
08:57Like a Broadway girl's warning.
09:00Yes.
09:00That's right, that's right.
09:02I love it.
09:03The songs that you worked on with Kane,
09:05did this come from the time that you guys
09:06spent on tour with him?
09:07It did.
09:08You know, we were sitting on the bus one day,
09:10one night after the show.
09:11And he was like, I want to show you guys
09:14some of the songs on my new upcoming album.
09:17And so we got to listen to his whole album basically
09:20before anybody heard it.
09:23And then he played a couple extra songs and he says,
09:27I'm not sure if these are going to make the album or not.
09:29They're not quite fitting my project,
09:31but I really want them.
09:32And one of them was Neon Girl.
09:34And we're like, listen, if it doesn't make the final cut,
09:37then we'll cut it.
09:39And he was like, well, you know.
09:41So there might be a surprise version
09:43of that coming soon too.
09:45Like on a deluxe.
09:46I can't say anything more.
09:47I get-
09:48I just did, I said it.
09:50Oh, you did say it?
09:51I did say it.
09:52Oh, I didn't even hear it, man.
09:53I'm getting a call from somebody that's going to be like,
09:54please cut that.
09:55Please cut the deluxe.
09:56No, don't cut it.
09:57Don't cut it.
09:58Yeah.
09:59Okay, we'll leave it, but-
10:00Leave it in there.
10:02Leave it in there.
10:03Who cares?
10:04Oh my gosh.
10:05That's so exciting.
10:05How fun.
10:06Is there anybody else on here?
10:07Any other features you guys are excited about
10:09or rights that you got to do with other artists?
10:12You know, there's a handful of artists
10:14that want to do some things with us.
10:16And I think that that's going to be the deluxe.
10:18You know, I think we're going to have some surprises
10:21on that version, but you know,
10:23it's been years since Chris and I put out a full album.
10:26And so this is really just us again.
10:28And we're not trying to, you know,
10:30sugar coat it and anything like that.
10:33It's just, you know, 13 songs that we're really proud of.
10:37We need to hurry up and get it out
10:38because they're starting to get old to us.
10:40We're ready to cut new ones already.
10:42Yeah, we got new songs already.
10:43Get this album out before we change our minds again,
10:46you know, so.
10:47Right, well, it'll be here very soon, April 18th.
10:50Then while we have you guys on the show,
10:51co-hosting with us,
10:52obviously you'll be playing a bunch of songs
10:54from your catalog.
10:54And when I was looking yesterday,
10:55I didn't realize that this year,
10:57it's been 10 years since I Love This Life came out.
10:59Right?
11:00Yes.
11:01That is wild.
11:02That's wild.
11:03And I always forget that you guys wrote this song
11:06with Chris Jansen.
11:07So was there any talk about this being a Chris cut
11:10versus a low cash cut?
11:11Like how did that all go down?
11:14No, I don't.
11:15We never, we had the song.
11:18It was on hold for two other artists
11:20and Danny Meyer, who we also wrote it with,
11:22is a great, fantastic songwriter.
11:24You know, we wrote Truck Yeah with both of them also.
11:26Oh, really?
11:27I didn't realize they were the others on that.
11:30Yeah, so they're on there and Chris is,
11:32Chris and Danny had it going out for another artist
11:34and it was on hold.
11:36And then when we said-
11:37We did too, we had it on hold too for that artist.
11:39Can you say who else it was?
11:42Yeah, Ted Hewitt had it on hold for Rodney Atkins.
11:45And then there was another soft hold for Billy Currington.
11:49And I don't know if Billy had heard it yet,
11:51but there was kind of a double hold going.
11:54Okay, got it.
11:55Double hold.
11:55Tell me like,
11:56where did the inspiration for the song come from?
11:59Go ahead, Chris.
12:00We sat there in Danny's office and Jansen comes in,
12:05wild as can be, banging the, banging his knee,
12:07banging everything, he's all wild on Mountain Dew.
12:09And he's like, man, he goes, let's write a crazy song.
12:11And they were like, yeah.
12:12We're like, well, Garth is cutting.
12:14Garth Brooks is cutting right now.
12:16What would Garth say?
12:19He was going to cut one more song.
12:20He was down to one.
12:22So everybody in town was trying to write that.
12:25And he said, I love this live.
12:27And we're all like, y'all love this live?
12:29And we're like, yep, let's go.
12:30And we just started writing it.
12:31And who knew it was going to come out to low cash.
12:35When we wrote it, we knew we were like,
12:36okay, we just got to start performing this live.
12:38And then we started,
12:39I think the first time we did it live was in Switzerland.
12:42And the crowd went, yes, the crowd went crazy.
12:45And we're like, oh, maybe we should keep this
12:47and run it back to the States.
12:49And we performed it for a year.
12:52It was just, you're just seeing people smile every second
12:55and just loving this song.
12:58So we had to take it off hold.
12:59And that was a hard moment.
13:00Preston didn't tell us it was still on hold.
13:03We all thought it was off hold already.
13:04And we were going to be able to put this out.
13:06Well, you know, it's for sure money.
13:09You know, it's like, if it's going on someone else's album,
13:12that's a big win for these four writers
13:15and all their publishers and all their managers.
13:18And it's a big day.
13:19And so, you know, everyone's like,
13:21hey, you took I Love This Life off hold, right?
13:24And I'm like, yeah, sure I did.
13:26Yeah, I took it off hold.
13:27But I was secretly leaving it on hold.
13:29Because my thinking was if they go into the studio
13:33and they cut it and it's a big hit,
13:34well, then it's a win anyway.
13:35So I just left it on hold.
13:38And then finally I saw some artwork.
13:41I mean, they were getting real far down the road.
13:43They were like, here's the artwork for Locash
13:45and I Love This Life.
13:46And they showed it to me and Chris.
13:47And I was like, I'm gonna step out in the hall real quick.
13:51I better go take this song off hold.
13:53And so I go out in the hallway.
13:56I mean, that's legit how it happened.
13:58I went out in the hallway and I called
14:00and I took it off hold.
14:02We got excited.
14:03The next morning, my phone just starts buzzing.
14:08And I'm like, I mean, I'm not even out of the,
14:11out of my apartment yet.
14:12And I answer the phone and this particular publisher
14:16cussed me out.
14:18It was like, you don't know what you're doing.
14:21Locash doesn't have a hit yet.
14:23You can't take I Love This Life and keep it for yourself.
14:26It's already on hold for someone else.
14:28And you're taking money out of our pockets.
14:30And I mean, he just let me have it.
14:33And I remember setting the phone down on the counter
14:37cause I couldn't even get a word in.
14:39And so I just, I set the phone down and I said,
14:43so you're saying you don't believe in us, you know?
14:46And he was like, it's not that I don't believe in you guys.
14:49We just have a for sure cut going on.
14:51And I said, well, listen, man,
14:53Chris and I are betting the farm on us basically.
14:57And I'm sorry that you're not there with us.
15:01And hopefully we'll make you proud.
15:05And we think this is going to be a good decision.
15:07And you know, two or three years later, yeah.
15:11You know, here we are.
15:12Cause number one, they're like,
15:14I knew you guys were going to do it.
15:16It's crazy.
15:17Yeah, you're at the big number one party
15:19and they're up there like,
15:20I knew all along these boys could do it.
15:22And you're like,
15:23I believe in these guys.
15:25But you know, you don't keep scoring.
15:28You don't hold grudges in this town.
15:29You just kind of like,
15:30I understand where they were coming from,
15:32but you know, it was a decision
15:35that Chris and I made together and we felt good about it.
15:39For sure.
15:39All right, another one.
15:40I want to talk about the story behind I know somebody.
15:45I know somebody was,
15:47we had that on hold for at least two years
15:50cause we didn't really have a record deal
15:52when we put it on hold.
15:53We didn't write that.
15:54And that was, yeah, we didn't write this one.
15:56Jeremy Stover, Rhett and Ross.
16:01Ross Copperman, three huge songwriters and great guys.
16:05And Rhett was like, I'll let you guys keep it on hold.
16:08I believe in you guys.
16:09And you know, it was also on hold for another artist.
16:12And we had to fight that
16:15because we had no deal yet.
16:16We had no idea what we're going to do.
16:18And I just remember pressing.
16:19I was like, you need to see it.
16:20You need to hear the song.
16:21I listened to it.
16:23And I was like, I fell in love with it.
16:25I listened to it for a year and a half.
16:26I learned it front and back.
16:28Just could sing it backwards.
16:29I was like, I love this song.
16:30Yeah, I kind of let go of it.
16:31It has to be the same.
16:32I remember kind of letting,
16:33I played it for Chris and then Chris fell in love with it
16:35and just kept going.
16:37And I had already moved on to other songs,
16:39but Chris kept coming back to this one.
16:42And you know, after I love this life,
16:44it was not even a question.
16:45I was like, we need to record this and put this out.
16:47This is our next single.
16:48And this, similar to this is Hometown Home.
16:53I felt the same way with this song.
16:56I've been singing this Hometown Home song for,
16:58you know, it's been on hold since COVID, you know?
17:01And when we wrote it and I was like,
17:03Preston, this is it.
17:04This has got to be our first single off our whole label,
17:07our new album.
17:07I was like, I promise you, this is it.
17:08This is it.
17:09And I felt that way with I Know Somebody.
17:12And I felt that way with Hometown Home.
17:14Which, yeah, great, great songs.
17:16Other ones I want to bring up is that you talked
17:18about writing Truck Yeah for Tim McGraw.
17:20And I always love when there's like an artist
17:22who's written a song like that,
17:23that you may like not realize.
17:25So talk about like, what did you guys think
17:27when you got the call that you had a Tim McGraw cut?
17:31I mean, it's unreal to get that phone call.
17:33It's just crazy.
17:34And especially because he had just left Curve Records
17:38and he had just went to Big Machine
17:39and this was going to be his first single on Big Machine.
17:43And so there's a lot at stake.
17:45You know, the label wants to show up.
17:47And there was a, I think there was a lawsuit going on
17:50between like Curve and Big Machine and all kinds of,
17:52so we were just thrown right into the vortex
17:56of that whole wild, successful storm.
17:58And, but you know, the day we wrote it,
18:02a guy came in the office and said,
18:04he was wearing a suit at the publisher.
18:07And he says, he says, hey, it's Danny and Chris Chance
18:11and me and Chris.
18:12And he says, whatever you do,
18:13don't write a song about trucks.
18:14And we're like, why?
18:16And he says, you know, nobody,
18:18we've moved on as country music.
18:19We're not singing songs about trucks anymore.
18:21Nobody drives trucks anymore.
18:22Nobody, nobody drives trucks.
18:24They don't want to sing about it.
18:25They're not going to record about it.
18:26We just got an email saying this.
18:28And so we'd appreciate it if you guys
18:30don't write a song about trucks today.
18:32So he leaves the room and as soon as the door closes,
18:36Danny Myrick says, I think we write a song about trucks.
18:41He looks at Chris and Chris says, I'm in.
18:44And, and Chris Jansen says, F yeah.
18:48And I was like, no, no, no, not F yeah.
18:50Truck yeah.
18:51And then we all just kind of looked at each other.
18:53We're like, whoa.
18:54I had never said those two words together
18:56in my entire life before that moment.
18:59So it wasn't like I came into the room with an idea.
19:03It all happened because of this moment.
19:05And that's the magic of it.
19:07And we wrote the song in like an hour and a half
19:09and we were done.
19:11And man, again, underdogs, underdogs turned it in
19:16and they told us no one is cutting this song.
19:19And we're like, oh yeah, well, we're going to cut it.
19:21We're going to make it a single.
19:22We took our president of our label at that time out
19:25to own a deer hunt.
19:27And we go sitting in a bus and we're like,
19:28we're going to play something for you, man.
19:30We're going to play something for you.
19:32We play it for him.
19:32He sits down.
19:33He's like, no, no, no way.
19:37No one's cutting this song.
19:38And it was two days after that.
19:39Including you.
19:40I'm not going to lie.
19:41Including you.
19:42You're not putting this out.
19:43And we sang it in Kentucky for the first time
19:45and they went ballistic.
19:47They just went nuts over the song.
19:49This is a wild story.
19:50I got to tell this story.
19:51I don't know if we have time,
19:52but I'm going to tell it anyway.
19:53So Chris and I go to Mexico to do this charity event.
19:59And we get down there.
20:03It's for breast cancer awareness and fundraising and stuff.
20:06So we're down there.
20:07We're doing this event.
20:08And this is back when I'm aging myself,
20:12but there wasn't a lot of like cell phone usage
20:16outside of the country, cell phone period, really.
20:19And so we're down there doing this event
20:23and my phone in my hotel room in Mexico rings,
20:27like the actual, you know, hardline phone.
20:31And so I go over, I'm like, this must be the front desk.
20:33So I answer it.
20:34They're like, hey, this is somebody in Nashville
20:38and Tim McGraw wants to record Truck Yeah.
20:42It's all you guys wrote.
20:43And I'm like, hold this, hold this on.
20:46I'm like, what?
20:46I'm like, this is crazy, right?
20:48And so I'm like, you gotta be kidding me.
20:50And they're like, no, no, no.
20:51He wants to record it, but there's one problem.
20:54And I was like, what?
20:54And they're like, you guys sang it in Kentucky live
20:59and someone recorded it and put it on YouTube.
21:04And McGraw wants to be, you know, their team,
21:08not necessarily McGraw,
21:10but his marketing team wants all of that wiped clean
21:14so that when he comes out with a song,
21:16it's fresh and it's new and da, da, da.
21:17We're like, I'm like, of course I understand that.
21:20I'm like, what do we need to do?
21:21And they're like, well, we need to find the person
21:24who posted this and we need to get it done.
21:27And we're like, but back then we didn't have Instagram.
21:29You couldn't just track someone down.
21:31It was just like this random video, right?
21:33And it's probably got some like insane handle,
21:36like YouTuber, little cat, Kentucky 25.
21:40Exactly, exactly.
21:42Our only clue was like Kentucky deer hunter 195, you know?
21:46And so we're like, okay, it's a Kentucky deer hunter.
21:50So we call the radio station and I was like, I got an idea.
21:53So Chris and I get on the phone.
21:55We call the radio station that was there that night.
21:59We said, hey, put out a contest and say,
22:03whoever, if you're listening,
22:05whoever recorded that video called,
22:08you just won free tickets to a big show.
22:11And so sure enough, they made the announcement.
22:14It wasn't five minutes and Kentucky deer hunter 195
22:18calls up, he's like, that was me, you know?
22:21And so they're like, you win.
22:22All you have to do is take that video down.
22:24And so he agreed to take it down.
22:27And man, that's the story behind the song.
22:32That is insane.
22:34Also brilliant on your part
22:36for like getting that guy to call in.
22:37Wait, I love it.
22:39All right, listen, we're running out of time.
22:40So I got to get a couple more things for you.
22:41Otherwise, Rob and Holly are gonna be mad at me
22:43cause I'm gonna make you guys late.
22:45Quick question.
22:46Was there ever any other name you guys considered
22:49other than low cash?
22:50I mean, I know obviously it used to be low cash cowboys,
22:52but were there any other names you'd thrown around?
22:55Yes, Nash Vegas.
22:58Really?
22:59Yeah, we thought about Nash Vegas and then-
23:02It was just too much.
23:03This is my favorite one.
23:04I pushed for this one a lot.
23:07Your mama.
23:08No, you're kidding.
23:10And the winner of the ACM award is your mama.
23:17No, that wasn't a real-
23:17Who's not voting for your mama?
23:19Well, we sure, here's the new single by your mama.
23:24You need to be writing for SNL, Preston.
23:28I mean, it was a bit of a joke,
23:29but still it's kind of like, I don't know.
23:33Katie Neal, live with your mama today.
23:37I love it.
23:38All right, what else?
23:39So we're gonna have you guys on over April Fool's Day.
23:42Are there ever any like pranks you guys have done on tour?
23:46Is that something that's part of like low cash culture,
23:48picking each other, jokes?
23:50We may have put on one of the greatest pranks of all time.
23:54Then it's a long, long story.
23:56And I don't know how-
23:57I got a short one.
23:58I got a short one.
23:59There's nothing you do that's short, P.
24:01What are you talking about?
24:02Let's save that one for a different one
24:04because that's a super long one and it's a good one.
24:07So Katie, write it down.
24:09The long prank because we need a whole show
24:12based around that one.
24:12It's one of the best pranks of all time.
24:14We need to reenact that one with you, Katie.
24:16That would be a good one.
24:17In the same day?
24:19Yeah, it's when the cops stormed our bus.
24:22Just put that down.
24:24That's all you need to know on that.
24:26But there was one that Chris and I did to a buyer one time.
24:30This guy called and we happened to be sitting
24:33in our agent's office that day.
24:34And he called and he said,
24:35hey, I'd like to book low cash.
24:37And he didn't have much money.
24:40And we were trying to make a certain amount
24:42to pay for our overhead.
24:45And he didn't have enough to do it.
24:46And so, and it was going to be too far away or something.
24:49We didn't want to do that show.
24:51So we-
24:52Well, he also didn't know what he was doing either.
24:53Yeah.
24:54So he says, man, we're going to try to get low cash.
25:00And the agent says, okay.
25:01He says, how much do they cost?
25:03He tells him the number and he's looking at us
25:06and being like, shh, stay quiet.
25:07And so he agrees to the cost.
25:11And we didn't think he would agree to the cost.
25:14We're like, oh, he agreed to it.
25:16We might have to do this one.
25:17And then our agent goes, hold on one second.
25:19And so he puts him on hold and he goes,
25:23I'm going to make a crazy request
25:26and he'll never say yes to this.
25:28And so he clicked back off and he says,
25:31I just talked to the guys and they need a live elephant
25:35to bring them into the show.
25:38And the guy kind of laughs and our agent doesn't laugh.
25:42And we're all like, we're all like trying not to laugh.
25:44And he says, you gotta be kidding me.
25:47He says, no, no, no.
25:48They need a big elephant to bring them in to the show.
25:53The elephant will drop them off on stage,
25:55but they can't travel with an elephant.
25:56So you've got to get one.
25:58And so the guy's like, okay, well, let me make some calls.
26:05And so he hangs up and he never calls back.
26:07He calls Joe Tiger.
26:09A little bit, yeah, yeah, that's right.
26:12So anyway, we have some fun here and there.
26:14That's incredible.
26:15All right, last question.
26:17Have either of you ever been mistaken
26:18for another country artist or a different duo?
26:21I don't know if you saw this,
26:22but Luke Bryan posted yesterday
26:23that somebody thought he was Blake Shelton at a gas station.
26:25That was funny.
26:26Great.
26:26That was funny, I saw that.
26:28There's a ton.
26:29We've been called Dan and Shay forever.
26:31Dan and Shay were called Locash forever.
26:35Did people still think they'll go up to us, man?
26:37I love that song, Cruise.
26:38And we're like, what?
26:40And-
26:41I think the one that we get the most
26:43is Jamie Foxx and Denzel Washington.
26:46We get those a lot.
26:48We also get, honestly, we get Lanco a lot
26:51because of our names.
26:53I can see that.
26:54People will come, yeah, and it's like all caps, you know?
26:57And so they'll like hold up a poster in the crowd
26:59and be like, sing greatest love story, you know?
27:02And then they'll be at a Lanco show like,
27:04sing I love this live, you know?
27:06And so that, we all get a kick out of that.
27:10That's incredible.
27:11Okay, good stuff.
27:11I know you guys have Rob and Holly after this,
27:13so I will let you go.
27:14Congratulations on how well the song is doing.
27:16It's great to see you guys as always.
27:18Hopefully we'll catch up in town very soon.
27:21Love you.
27:21Yes, great to see you.
27:23Bye y'all.
